Been looking at TF direct and thinking about picking up some KO figures to complete the datsun characters I want.
MP19 - MP18 and MP20.
What do you all think about KO figures and MP line is it worth saving some money or sure I stay pure and get only official figures.

I think this has already been answered over at tfw, but I would try and stay official where you can. I very nearly pulled the trigger on KO Sideswipe.an I'm glad I didn't, that said I will say that the KO cassettes are well worth it, I was fortunate enough to get the official one for KO money bit I bought the ko's out of curiosity and they were pretty impressive IMO.

FINALLY FINALLY after at lot of messing around I should have my MP22 and MP09 trailer tonight.
Just need to wait for the next door neighbour to get home to collect my parcel (was left at their house as I'm at work).
Really hope MP22 has been worth all this faff (from what I have seen believe he is).....

Hi, as some have already noticed I have been largly absent from the forums over the past 6 months. This is due to me making a shift in my collecting hobbies. In short I have dropped out of MP collecting, I found it too much of a commitment given the spike in releases of late, also I felt that the quality of the figures had dropped a little, making them feel a little less special IMO. So I sold up and changed direction. The bulk of the money made from sales led to me pursuing a long held dream of joining the 501st Star Wars costuming group, a dream which has now been realised!

Rest assured I have not abandond Transformers, I've used the rest of the money I made to pick up a few G1 figures.

AWESOME SIR LUBE!!!!!!!
Or should I say TKLU8E
I love it!
Did you make the costume? Order parts and paint it?
I'm mildly familiar with the process, as I too tried to pursue the idea.
Glad to hear from you.
Thanks for sharing!

Cheers mate, yeah made it myself, ordered the base plastic moldings of the internet and cut and assembled it myself, the helmet was hand painted by myself also. Took me about 6 months in total. This is how the kit arrived.

Wonderful Stormtrooper get-up. Fellow Imperial I'm guessing? Very nice!
I used to cosplay for Stargate actually a couple years ago. Discontinued doing it because convention scene (and my anxiety) was just too much on me. The group I was a member of also fell apart and some of the remaining members got into the Steampunk thing. I decided it was a good time to leave and get back to my other hobbies, collecting multi-fandom stuff at least.

Thanks man, I picked up the KO Optimus and Grimlock, mainly out of curiosity, I was so impressed with them I decided to pick up some legit reissues, so I have Commemerative Jazz, one of the Keyring Bumblebees and just snagged a Takara Encore Megatron.

The KO G1 Optimus and Grimlock?! I've seen the KO Dinobots on TF-Direct, I'm glad to hear they are good quality.leakin' lubricant wrote:Thanks man, I picked up the KO Optimus and Grimlock, mainly out of curiosity, I was so impressed with them I decided to pick up some legit reissues, so I have Commemerative Jazz, one of the Keyring Bumblebees and just snagged a Takara Encore Megatron.itscramtastic wrote:What did you pick up in the G1 range?!
I've often thought of just going with the G1 S1 and TF:TM 'bots and 'cons, at least I know what I'm getting into which you don't really know with the current state of toys as you mentioned earlier. I have enough of them, so it wouldn't be a huge undertaking, I still may..

Yeah there good, well worth picking up, plastic quality is on point and no simplification either, very nice gold chrome on Grimlock too.
I think I'll just pick up Starscream Soundwave an give the KO Shockwave a go and leave it there for the time being, then I'll have what I consider to be the "Big 8" character's.

It's actually a good thing. The group did mostly disband after. We all kind of got busy with life, but hey. It was fun while it lasted! I have fond memories of it. I still do have my Stargate costume too.

That's a good haul. That Takara Encore Megatron, is it the G1 Transformers Collection ('03 I think?) version with the energon mace? I personally want to find some way to get the mace myself to give my G1 toy it to wield in my setup.

Did you portray a particulr character from Stargate?
Thanks, really happy with my recent buys, so many memories came flodding back transforming these fellas

This is the Megs I snagged:

Really looking forward to getting this guy, seeing as Xmas '86 resulted in me snapping the head off straight after opening him!

Not really portrayed any specific members. Just had the look basically. I was kind of on a budget when I did it at the time. I followed the 10 foot rule. Heh.
Ah. Alright. Not a bad choice for a Megatron! I'm very happy with my G1 myself. Just wish I could get the Energon mace accessory that came out. I picked mine up from a toy shop here in town a while ago. Was one of the originals from the 80s, the American release, loose, and no stickers. So I bought the stickers for it and applied them carefully. Best thing is the joints are tight too. It sits on my shrine's shelf to Megatron.

Nice work on securing a vintage Megs in good condition, I couldn't find one that wasnt either broken or chrome scuffed, I had almost given up and then this fella popped up at a price too good to ignore.

Thanks! I felt very fortunate for it actually knowing the difficulties involved with securing one, so I hopped on it as soon as I found out about it.
That's definitely good you found it for a good price!
