Rumors have been brewing for a couple weeks regarding pictures of an anime repainted MP Starscream. A few days ago we posted pictures of the repaint here. Information has been speculating that the repaint may be the Masterpiece Starscream that Hasbro has mentioned a while back.
An auction of the alleged prototype has now surfaced on eBay. eBay seller, minmeiiloveyou, claims that it is not a repaint but an official test shot. The figure features red plastic and white plastic. Some places are still not fully painted; and some places exhibited painted weathering. A picture of the copyright stamp says Takara.

I could be wrong, but It does bear more classic hallmarks of hasbro's work- overdone batlle damage and the like. Just thinking fan work wouldn't go so crazy, and I may be picky, but if fans would go to this much trouble, would they not use a lighter-more-anime like blue?

I'm not digging the Decepticon symbols being placed upside down in robot mode. They have two sets of symbols in both modes. Hopefully they'll fix that before it's released!

Um, it'd be hard to achive an anime accurate scheme without having them upsidedown...
Anyway, yeah, if it wasnt for the god aweful 'battle damage/dirt/god knows what that would be one badass paint job.

Im glad its got some dirt ( although it looks a bit overdone ). If it was clean solid paint it would lose some realism and that used look. Makes it look less of a cartoon.

The Allspark site mentioned that Hasbro may be bringing this out in the fall.
