I was looking at the Animorphs toy line the other day and some of them were really good. Why have they not been remolded or even used at events like botcon as new pretenders or something similar?

They should be repurposed.

Animorphs was the sci-fi book to read when I was a kid. Their toys.... not so much.

I don't see that these toys are so bad. They're at least as good as Beast Wars.

In this instance, is 'repurposed' the same as removing the head and destroying the brain?

Because I would support that in regards to Animorphs.

Funny you should mention that, because 4 toys that were meant for Animorphs did end up with Transformers instead, the Beast Wars Mutants: Icebird, Razor Claw, Poison Bite and Soundwave. All they had to do was add robotic detailing to the sculpts plus the hidden robot head.

Why yes, I do plan on hunting them down.

I want to argue against this just because I love the cartoon so much but that's not the point. But I do think that some of them are better than G1 *ducks*.

Go for it, it's surprisingly rewarding to have all four of them.

There's a couple animporph figs that could work with new heads, hands and most likely feet. Over all though, it's too much trouble for a dead line.

These are the only two Animorphs figures I've ever really wanted. The second one is a combiner. Even if I don't get the first one, I REALLY hope I run into the second one some day...

I actually grabbed the centaur looking alien guys from Animorphs. They're pretty badass and the detailing is marvelous. I put them up on my misc monsters shelf with Cloverfield and some of my Godzilla figures. I think they're definitely worth having, especially since I snagged them super cheap.

As for the other figures in the line...eh...I guess they could maybe be retooled as Beast Wars figures, but I don't think they're quite as good as most Beast Wars figures, at least as far as articulation and proportions go in "bot" mode. At least if what I remember of them is accurate.

I read the first Animorphs book some time before the toys got released. I was quite surprised to see them in shops, especially with the TF branding. Passed on them, because...well...you guys have seen them right? Bots might have been more palatable, but only a little.

i am not a new kid on the block, ive been a member longer than you. also beast wars was the apology hasbro gave us to repair the wrath left from animorphs
