But click the link I put in that message (this one), it brings you back to the official facebook post by Hasbro. And you are free to ask them drectly why they thought it would be funny to post this fake news.

Personally, I feel Hasbro is testing the waters and I am glad to have this article up in the archives with the hope of needing to unearth it one day to refer to it in light of a new reveal

If HasTak released a CHUG Voyager class, Three pack of Legends toys that formed Reflector, I'd buy it. Must admit these characters toys are not high on my updates wants buying list.

In all honesty, I'd be far more interested in 3 bots that combine into 1 alt mode than a "fan" repaint of figures we already got 2-3 of.

Actually, I think that's the point of a company taking part in April Fools. It's the cheapest, lowest risk form of test marketing possible.

I think the same thing. I totally forgot it was even April Fools when I read this (even though I just watched ProJared's april fools video), hopefully they will release reflector after they see our forums exploding. (do Hasbro marketing people look on forums? I hope so.)

Hasbro's P.R department must be run by sadists. Anyhow, I don't think there was ever a problem with the fan built poll, they just haven't finished whatever they were doing, and they know taking their sweet ass time, was starting to piss some people off.

Short answer: Hasbro people, yes. Hasbro Marketing Dept. people, I don't know.

Longer answer: The brand team folks, at minimum, indeed check out the major fansites. Some of them even listen to podcasts (like ours, which was shocking to me) and check out other fan-made media on Youtube and the like. The extent of this activity in regards to frequency, depth (just checking keywords/buzzwords and doing a cursory search, or really digging in to do research), and level of personnel that do this (rank or otherwise, for instance no idea if a marketing or sales do), I don't have any clue.

I'm just glad Combiner wars as a whole did not fall into the Jokes of previous years. ie. FOC Bruticus, ROF Devastator, any Powercore combiner ever. Hasbro stepped up their game.

What makes you think it will clog up shelves because you don't want it or are you just complaining because Hasbro is not making what you want?




There's nothing special about Reflector anyways disappeared after the first season of the cartoon and if they were in season 2 they weren't important enough to be worth mentioning.



The only thing unique about them is that they combine into a old camera.

Never say never. People thought they would never get a gun G1 megatron before MP -05 came out, or a G1 Arcee, or a giant Metroplex, or a reissue of Fort Max, or DOTM Megatron's shotgun. Yup, they werent made by Takara or Tomy and now the rights to those toys are no longer in their hands (they are mostly with Bandai, who also have all the rights to the gobot toys). I wrote a top 5 list about those, I will be releasing it in 3 weeks.

Oh no, I was referring to when I used to be News Crew, every year I saw all these awesome April Fools things by stores and such, I think Takara even had a ridicules announcement regarding MP Grimlock once. But posting such jokes was against site policy, because Ryan hates April Fools day, and doesn't want it to mix in with our performance as a news site.

I agree with that policy. Posting false news is not funny nor it is a joke of any kind.

The stuff I was referring to was ridicules things like a dress for MP Grimlock, utterly obvious from the title and description that it was a joke. Especially seeing how the threads were pretty popular.
