A show that is a continuation of G1 and aesthetic with all the characters we know and love and not just a few.
This of course never being possible, and with that being said, then i'd like to have all the above criteria used to make some movies. Straight to DVD.
I'd really like that.

Indeed, as a fan primarily of G1, all I've ever wanted was to see the original cast, done in a series or set of films in really nice cg, but I would love to see well-done classic 2d Animation as well.

I wish Hasbro/Takara would just take the initiative and reissue the entire G1 series. There would definitely be the global demand, and it would almost certainly put a stop to the endless tirade of cheap TF KO's that seem to be flooding the market recently.

I've bought 4 in my time collecting and only one have i liked and that was Soundwave.
The others, in my opinion, are very disappointing. Plus ninety percent of the time the re-issues are as much as the original vintage figures anyways.
And having more re-issues roaming around can be as much a hassle as KO's. At least KO's are generally easy to spot. Plus it takes away from the uniqueness of the originals. For me they cheapen and tarnish the magic of G1 figures.
I like vintage and that's all i mainly collect with exceptions of course. To each there own though. I'm pretty sure that opinion is very much my own and not shared by many in the community if any at all.
I'm also fan of hunting for figures as well and piecing them together over time. Love when i find that vintage TF but in near mint shape and it's 25 years old....love that. Beats buying a re-issue any day. It has real character and history to me and not just a piece of plastic.

I can totally understand where you're coming from, however these reisses give me an opportunity to relive my childhood. I like the fact that they are original Hasbro/Takara toys, but they are still brand new, never opened, never played with, and never abused. I like the fact that I'm the first person to take it out, to apply the stickers and transform it for the first time.
I think they are special in their own way. They are only ever produced in limited numbers, so I really dont think they cheapen the origonals that much.

Personally, I'd like to see Classics Universe style Gestalt figures done right. Not half assed Universe trilogy combiners or Energon Optimus Prime wannabee Power Core Combiners ... 4 or 5 Scout class figures that combine with either a deluxe or a Voyager to become a larger Gestalt. I'd also like to see the rest of the Gestalts reissued at long last. I'd also like to see Pretenders given the Classics treatment with the actual Pretender gimmick, though I think this last request would be just to make me happen -- I don't think it'd go over well with the fans.

I'm all for the reissues. I think 10 years ago I felt the same way as monstergrotusque but that wore off quickly after caving in and enjoying them like MightyMagnus78. I was thrilled to have a brand new never before used Ultra Magnus. I was especially thrilled at getting Megatron in 100% mint condition with the ability to actually shoot bullets. In many cases, I've actually gotten rid of my original figures in favor of the reissues because of the condition of the figures. It also doesn't hurt that in several cases, the reissues were actually better than what we had originally (meaning that there were improvements made to the reissue over the original). Take Star Convoy for example ... they didn't go the cheap route with this one, they gave us the version of him that had only previously been seen as a prototype including gold chrome instead of yellow paint, silver painted legs instead of plain white plastic and tampoed "stickers" on Micromaster Hot Rodimus instead of actual stickers. Having the missile launchers restored was a treat as well since they were removed for the US versions. Fun little additions like Transformers Collection #9 Starscream that came with a mini-Megatron gun with special Starscream and Optimus Prime fists to hold him was an awesome treat. Or how about the reissues with the energy weapon accessories for Optimus and Megatron? Or the opportunity to get super expensive Japanese exclusives like Stepper (Ricochet), Twincast, and Soundblaster?

Yeah, i love G1 and the movies. The only series i truley despise is Eneron, and i kindof like RiD. I''m very open minded. Hell, i'm even giving the title Dark of The Moon a fihting chance, just cause it' Transformers!
Currently on a quest to collect as many Unicron Trilogy toys as possible...maybe even complete the collection...

And I detest the idea of Beast Wars. Time travel creeps me out, and having a dystopian future kind of negates the hopeful future that Autobots were fighting for. It's like when they brought back Palpatine in the Star Wars EU. It made Anakin's sacrifice feel pointless, because he doesn't end up stopping Palpatine when he tosses him, just delays his plans a little.
So that being, if I could have anything G1 related, it would be to have Hasbro bring it back and make it more geared towards adults (like someone once did with the GIJoe cartoon a while ago.)
It doesn't have to be kiddified, and it could be aired during the later hours when most of the kiddies would be in bed, thus allowing them to put more 'grown-up' violence and scarier themes in it.
Wouldn't it be cool if we actually got to see Megatron do some real damage rather then just implied? Or see Starscream do some nasty science experiments on people, because he's just that monsterous?
I would.
Because we'd get to see why the Decepticons are so dangerous, instead of having them run away whenever they think they have the faintest chance of losing.

I totally forgot i have that Stepper (Ricochet) re-issue!! I should take that outta the box and muck around with it and see if it'll convince me of re-issue "superiority"

Why does me liking the film-verse lessen my opinion of G1 Transformers for the sake of this conversation?
Where in my post did you see or get the idea that I said liking the film-verse made one less of a fan of G1? Did you not read what I had said in the bracketed part of my post?
Seibertron wrote:Why would you want to exclude people who have been open minded and like other Transformers series?
Oh, it's not a matter of being out to exclude anyone. I don't like what's going on right now, but instead of complaining about it, I'd rather talk about ideas that I think are cool, based on what I like best, and seeking out others who feel the same as I do.
Now, is that exclusive? I'd say it depends on how you want to view it. However, if it must be called such, then it is no more "exclusive" than any other thread asking "Who loves_______?" or "Who prefers_______?" Surely, these could also be seen as exclusive by those who do not agree. But, is this not the nature of conversation, especially in large groups of people?
Now, an interesting thing about being 'Open-minded'...
I've seen this batted around quite a bit on these forums, but I reject the implication that one is closed-minded for not liking or embracing every other TF series.
Disliking a TF series doesn't mean that one is close-minded; all it means is that one doesn't like that series. If I may be blunt, you do not know enough about the people who dislike what you like, in order to attach that assumption to them.
Lastly, why should I embrace an artistic work that offends my sensibilities? How is that being closed-minded?

Maybe I'm misreading what you wrote but it seems like that's what you're trying to do with your statement here:
And by "hardcore", I'm meaning those who favour the first era most, and do not jibe with the film-verse, it's story, it's aesthetic and so-forth. Rodimus the Prime wrote:Lastly, why should I embrace an artistic work that offends my sensibilities? How is that being closed-minded?
I wasn't stating that you had to like other series. I made the "open-minded" comment in response to my apparent misunderstanding that you wished to exclude fans of other series from this discussion. By no means should you have to like something that "offends" your "sensibilities. You are entirely entitled to dislike whatever you wish to dislike. That is the most wonderful thing about Transformers to me -- there's truly something for everyone.
I apologize if I somehow misinterpreted your comment above. It still reads to me like you don't want people who like the movie universe and G1 to participate in this conversation.

For me, I'm gonna join up with Ryan's idea of gestalts done right. Gimme six figures, either scout or deluxe, that are green, purple, and black, make 'em construction vehicles, and merge them mofos into one big bad, (shall I say "devastating"?) powerhouse of a robot with destruction on the central processor. Then let this open the door for more. The Scramble City guys can be done Energon style with four scouts (all different molds, though) and a deluxe that merge (even using the Energon combining points if neccessary, those are pretty alright with me) into their respective combined forms, but for the sake of whatever gods you may believe in, give the gestalt hands and feet! How about making something so good that Fansproject doesn't feel the need to step in for once?
Toy reviews on YouTube? Don't mind if I do!
I build model kits on Twitch, too!

I am all about the toys right now aswell and would die to have deluxe figures combine PROPERLY and not like what we've been getting for years now.
Toys will always be there though. The fiction/media isn't.
Maybe they could even do some of the Japanese cartoons and dub them into english. It would be easy too because not too many of the Sunbow cast are in the Headmasters show for example and voice continuity wouldn't be a big issue.
SO in short....i'd still like a cartoon/movie.

I've thought for a long time that it'd be really awesome to have the Japanese exclusive series imported at long last alongside new toys. It'd be incredible to have new Headmasters alongside the original Headmasters cartoon. Absolutely incredible. Never gonna happen -- but it sounds awesome to me.

No worries, friend, no need to apologize. Honestly, it wasn't in my head at all to exclude anyone when I wrote the first post. If I didn't want people with a certain pov to participate, trust me, there would be no possibility for misinterpreting my words.
Any how, as for the topic, I'm loving everyone's ideas.
For my part, I'd add I'd love nothing more than to see a G1 movie that was set in '84. I think the comedic factor of a window back in time on that era would be wholly appropriate. I have always, and still do believe that there is a way to make the classic look of the robots to not only work in a live-action setting, but to look absolutely freaking brilliant in a live-action setting!
Toy-wise, as noted, Gestalts done with the same level of awesomeness as those FP Combaticons. And yes, done in a size that would make them simply tower of Deluxe and Voyager scaled figures, and with excellent articulation! Voyager-sized Dinobots, and Voyager sized Seekers would be sweet too!

1. Yeah, new gestalts that don't suck. Actual 'Classic' combiners.
2. A long shot that I know will never happen... but G1 'cleaned up', so to say. Obvious animation errors removed, maybe some redubbing like Prime getting Trailbreaker's name right in that clone episode. I know a total long shot... but something that'd be cool.
3. Human figure two-packs, in the SW and GI Joe style. I want a Spike and Sparkplug!

It's not so much about being a 'hardcore' G1 fan, it's about liking something that's visually pleasing or interesting to me. It's the same premise that keeps a person from eating something that's grown black with mold....if it doesn't look good to you, you stay away from it. I'm not sure why people can't accept that the movie look doesn't harden everyone.
