I recently discovered these TF/"Lego" crossovers on eBay, and I'm kind of interested. But I'm guessing they're not very good, since they apparently never made it out the test markets. Has anyone had any experience with them? Are they worth buying if they can be had at near-retail price?

I had the Armada Starscream one... It wasn't that good.

lego's and transformers dont mix to well they may look good but not good to playwith or transfom

I'd say stay away. If you can get them for a dollar or two it's worth it for the curiosity quenching, but they are not figures I would actually hunt for.

Oh Christ no. The only "lego" Transformer worth buying is Transformers Diablock Convoy that was released about a year ago.

It's fantastic.

Those things were craptacular. The vehicle modes looked overly blocky and the robot modes were out of proportion and lanky. They couldn't even get a design sorted where you just had to build the thing and it would transform, you had to take them apart and rebuild them when switching between vehicle and alt, and not all of the parts were needed in both modes making it easy to lose bits. I had a few of the Armada ones that I found on clearance but ended up throwing them away. I love my Armada collection, blocky, childish and symplistic as the toys are but I just didn't want these figures to be a part of it. The couple of Energon figures that they did as the line was being fazed out were supposed to be a slight improvement on the Armada ones but I don't have any first hand experience of those, I'd already given up on the line entirely by then.

I have seen some fabulous, mind blowing LEGO TFs. BTR was not Lego's, nor were they compatible with LEGO's. It was just another locking block/building block deal that sucked.

The Diablok Convoy is awesome. I own one and he is fab!

BTR was okay with GI JOE's. The problem is that block vehicles for regular GI JOE figures are still below standard compared to vehicles we already had. Some interesting exclusive figures came out of the sets though.

I have'nt been able to get them, but the Energon ones look much better than the Armada figures. I own several Armada BTR pieces and they've since been put back into the boxes to never see the light of day again. I got them on clearance for like %70 off so it was'nt a big loss to me.
