I hope this isn't old news now cause I obviously missed it. So for anyone that has both figs, is this possible?

As is proven by the brand new gallery though, why not just do a quick fix on your own? I sincerely doubt the deco will be hugely different, though they'll probably get a few of the smaller details right that Hasbro failed to, like the headlights and maybe racing stripes on the hood/hood-chest.

I sure do. I paid full price for Arms Micron Smokescreen and I'm not regretting it. I do plan on getting BH Smokey eventually, AM Smokescreen is hanging out with Leo Prime and Hot Shot in the mean time.
btw How many of you followed the assembly instructions of S.2 to the letter?

Smokescreen's head is on a ball joint. However, PRiD Knock Out's head is the opposite. What I mean is, the "ball" is connected to the head on Knock Out and the socket is on the body. On Beast Hunters Smokescreen, it is the traditional "ball on body, socket in head" arrangement. If it is this way on Knock Out, I assume it's the same way for AM Smokescreen. Therefore, the two heads are incompatible.

The assembly instructions contain a nasty error concerning the rods connecting the backpack to his main body. The instructions say the wings and backpack slide on the rods on opposite ends, but they're supposed to go on the same side, wings first. The thick part in the middle acts as a stopper between the main body and the backpack, the wings even have a circular grove to accommodate them. In short:
Incorrect: Main body - wings - "stopper" - backpack
Correct: Main Body - "stopper" - wings - backpack
Doing it the incorrect way causes the rods to not lock in place on either end, so the backpack will eventually disconnect.
I need to rewrite this on TFWiki...
