The large blast doors to the bridge slid open with sharp hiss. Chromedome practically burst in with out checking his surroundings.

"Blaster, I was wondering if you could-" He began to ask only to find that the bridge was empty. "Where is everyone?" The mnemosurgeon asked out-loud to himself. His attention finally turned to Ramhorn, who seemed to have been the only one manning the bridge. "Hey Ramhorn," Chromedome began to ask to the rhino-cassettobot, "I'm looking for Rewind. Seen him around?"

First Aid had scooched out of Remington’s way when the femme had stepped in closer to the CR chamber that Ricochet was still housed in. He carefully rose up on the tips of his pedes granting him a better vantage point to watch her root around the box located on the side of the chamber.

He finally lowered back down and waited patiently until Remington addressed him. A smile spread over his face under his face mask as he sent an enthusiastic nod in the femme’s direction. “You’ve got it. Thank you. I’m sure Ratchet will be immensely grateful to have a fully functional CR chamber. I know I am already.”

First Aid took another quick satisfied look in the direction of chamber and grabbed another datapad with yet another patient’s name. The smile that was on his face faded as he looked over at the table where Howlstrike had been laid out when he was first brought in.

'So this... Hex... guy is making Axle's life difficult?'

First Aid stiffened slightly before he turned around to face the femme. “Well, I’m not sure if you could say that it’s Hex who’s making Axle’s life difficult.” First Aid let out a sigh as he walked to a stool stationed at one of the nearby terminals. The white and red doctor offered another available stool to Remington.

“Those two have a…strange relationship.” He said finally. He placed the pad down and interlaced his fingers. “Axle saved Hex’s life. It was the kid’s first assignment and he and his team were captured. He was the only one who made it out, but only just barely.” Without meaning to First Aid scratched at the side of his head, a nervous tick is what Rung had called it.

“Took a while but Axle finally got the kid put back together. After that mission Hex renounced his Autobrand but Axle convinced him to stay with him.” He shrugged slightly. “Not sure why he’d renounce after that one mission…must have been pretty traumatic. But yeah…now Hex can’t recharge in a hab suite so he holes himself up in walls and ventilation shafts. Something about not liking open spaces.”

Without thinking First Aid picked the pad back up and stood. He started out toward Howlstrike’s chamber as he continued his monologue. “The kid’s weird, and he’s a mean little glitch…drives Axle up the wall, but Ax won’t abandon him and Hex is fiercely loyal to Ax.” Aid took a few readings from the chamber’s terminal and then looked back to Remington. “Ratchet told me that Hex was the reason Axle was demoted…you know, after Hex’s first mission. Not sure why. From what I heard Axle was a very good doctor and an aspiring surgeon specializing in transplants.”

“Now he’s a field medic, but he’s just as dedicated. Maybe not as happy but…yeah.” First Aid shrugged again. “So those two pretty much feed off of one another. But with you around it’d make it easier for him to focus more on his work and not so much on Hex. Plus we’d get an extra pair of capable hands! It’s a win win.”

Remington sat down opposite First Aid and listened patiently as the medic explained the nature of the relationship between her soon-to-be supervisor and his apprentice. He clearly felt awkward about discussing such a sensitive matter, since he stood back up started wandering around as he spoke. A subconscious reaction, an urge to fidget around and direct the tension away.

'Sounds like a neither with, nor without kind of thing, yeah,' she said when First Aid finished. 'It doesn't sound that bad though.'

A slight smile crossed her face.

'Reminds me a little of Beretta and Glock,' she continued. 'Oh, sorry, you don't know them. Well, actually, you may have heard of Retta.'

Not exactly widely famous, but a reputation recognized by the majority of the rank and file had stuck to Beretta over the vorns. When mechs called you 'Gunslinger', it wasn't by accident.

'Anyway, there's Retta and one of my squadmates, Glock. Now, she's a real aft. I mean, a real one. Well, okay, not nearly as much as she used to be but I often wondered why Retta didn't simply kick her out of the squad for disciplinary issues.'

She pondered for a moment, trying to pick the most appropriate example from Beretta and Glock's rather colorful history.

'Glock is... or let's stick to used to be your typical prideful and stubborn glitch. Pit, we seriously believed she had pride and stubbornness instead of energon in her circulatory lines. Jabs of insults, looking down on us others, pushing us around... whatever you can imagine. When first they met, Retta had to knock her straight out to make her get in line. No better way to start a relationship, right?'

She chuckled.

'But she has changed. A lot. It's pretty hard to believe someone could change this much, but there you have it... these orns you can actually sit down with her like a pal and chat or play cards. Sure, when her ego is triggered, she slips back into being a jackaft but it rarely happens now. I think it was Retta, you know? She's the one never to give up on you until you change for the better.'

Remington paused, tracing back the though to the point she originally wanted to make. She got up and walked over to First Aid.

'What I'm trying to say here is two things. One; no matter how screwed up a relationship is, you can turn it for the better. If I can help those two get along better, I will. Two; if you have qualms about me handling... odd people, don't worry. I've spent enough time with one of the craziest bunches this contingent has to offer... and I loved it.'

Remington smiled. She smiled her own smile. The A-Okay kind of smile you felt energized just by looking at.

Now that she knew the people to participate in her training were similar in ways to her trusted squadmates, she immediately felt more confident about this whole medic business.

Ramhorn enjoyed the relative peace and quietude of the bridge. He tolerated the company of his comrades - they knew to leave him to his own devices. He might even go so far as to admit that he enjoyed their company, but nothing compared to a little alone time. The bridge was his territory, his domain - at least until Hot Spot or someone else of command returned to claim it. Yes. His space. His-

"Blaster, I was wondering if you could-"

Who in Pit is that? Ramhorn thought abrasively as he onlined his optics and looked in the direction of the interloper, prepared to charge. It was Chromedome. And Tailgate. Ramhorn had seen them about. With a burdened sigh, the rhino bot sat and waited to listen to whatever they needed from Blaster. As it turned out, Chromedome was only looking for Rewind. Ramhorn searched his memory banks. After Eject had helped him get that door off of his horn, Rewind had run off, saying something...about...an assignment of some sort.

"When we found Howlstrike, Rewind was there. I think he ran off saying something about some mission or assignment or other," Ramhorn said gruffly, "I guess it was urgent. Surprised you don't know. You two are closer than Rack n' Ruin most of the time."

Chromedome's spark felt as if it sunk further down into his chassis. He couldn't believe it was true, Rewind actually did leave the ship without letting him know...

The mnemosurgeon felt weak, his legs trembling oh so slightly. He had to sit down, the weight of his oncoming grief trying to pull him down to the floor of the ship. Chromedome took a seat at the empty navigation officer's chair, tossing his head back and looking up at the lights.

"So everything they said was true..." Chromedome muttered outloud. "Rewind actually left the ship without letting me know..." His mind began to wander, jumping to every worse-case scenario that popped into mind. He couldn't take the pain, and shifted himself into a slump, placing his face into his palms. "What if something happened? How would I know? He could be in terrible danger right now and there's nothing I can do about it! I can only sit up here and watch as I lose my best freind!"

The mnemosurgeon quickly rose from his seat and began pacing up and down the floor of the bridge.

"No matter how dangerous the task, I know Rewind would of at least told me something!" He said as he began to vent his frustration, "A note! A message! Data Slug! Who cares! Anything would of been better than just waltzing off the ship!"

Chromedome continued to pace along the interior of the Bridge, frantically hoping that the tiny archivist is still okay wherever he was.

First Aid lowered the datapad in his hands and turned fully when Remington began to recite a tale regarding two of her teammates. His interest piqued, Aid moved closer to the chamber and leaned his hip gently against it while he rested his elbow upon the glass, his head cradled lightly in its palm.

First Aid shook his head gently when Remington mentioned the two members of her team. “Can’t say that I’ve met either of them. But I’m sure we’ll cross paths at some point.” He smiled beneath his faceplate and let the femme continue with her account.

When she had finished Aid let out a low chuckle. This Glock sounded like Mirage or Sunstreaker more than anyone else. And Beretta reminded him of an amalgam of Kup, Ironhide and Ratchet. First Aid shivered internally at the thought. Now he wasn’t so sure he wanted to cross paths with either femme.

After a brief moment Aid lowered his arm and carefully pushed his hip away from the chamber to meet her half way. “I understand what you’re saying, Remington, but there are some mechs who just refuse to be helped.” First Aid sighed. “Hex is one of those mechs. It’s frustrating to Ax and just about everyone else. But…” he lifted his optics to meet hers. “You’re right. I believe your involvement would help them both a great deal.” With a slight laugh he added, “And I have no qualms about how you handle odd people. In fact I’m counting on you to handle both of them as you see fit.”

With a slight reach he placed his hand on the taller ‘Bot’s shoulder. “I think this will be the beginning of a strange yet beautiful relationship.” He squeezed lightly before lowering his hand and nodding. “Axle should have been back by now. How about we go check to see what he’s up to? I could use a break.”

I think this will be the beginning of a strange yet beautiful relationship.

Remington giggled. Neither she, nor First Aid knew then how much that remark would prove to be true on both accounts.

Axle should have been back by now. How about we go check to see what he’s up to? I could use a break.

'That a prescription, doctor?' she said with a playful smirk. Though, she could agree wholesparkedly. That eerie ordeal surrounding Howlstrike and the others' misfortune did take a toll on all their mental steadiness. Remington found it remarkable that she could already compose herself and even joke, despite being deeply touched by the events and not in a good way. Guess, having a calm and collected doctor around did help.

Point was, they could do with a decrease in pressure, now that all life-threatening cases were stabilized and left under the scrutiny of the most sophisticated equipment. The signal-ceiver all medical personnel were bound to carry at all times would alert them at once if the scanners did discover any deterioration in the patients' condition.

'You know,' Remington mused as they made their way outside to the corridors, 'when you first brought up this stand-in medic stuff, I was a little scared. I'm guessing you could tell... But now that you're holding my actuator, I think I'll do just fine.'

First Aid had to admit Remington had an infectious laugh. Hopefully the upbeat personality of the femme would draw one out from Axle. The Protectobot knew somewhere deep in the former doctor a happier more compassionate mech existed. “You bet. Take a walk and call me in the morning.” he chuckled.

It was a bit disconcerting just how much Axle was taking after Ratchet. Not that the CMO wasn’t a good mech, far from it. But the medical profession should only have room for one perpetually angry member. Probably impossible if anyone other than Ratchet had the luxury of fixing one or both of the twins.

That thought made First Aid shiver slightly.

He was drawn back to reality when his companion began to almost think aloud. First Aid cast a quick glance in Remington’s direction as they both moved closer to the chute that would place them on the Ark – 22.

The doctor listened in silence as the femme spoke. He did notice how apprehensive she was at his idea when first he offered. In fact he wasn’t sure she’d even agree to it.

Aid nodded in understanding and smiled beneath his faceplate…bright blue optics beneath that visor revealed his pleasure. “Well, I’m really glad you decided to give it a chance. And I’m sure you’ll be great at it.” He turned to look ahead and noticed the docking tunnel. “We’re not too far.” Aid stopped and opened a comm line with Axle but got no response. “Hmm. That’s strange.” He tried again, and again he got no answer.

First Aid looked from the tunnel back to Remington. “Axle’s not answering his comm. Could be something minor but I’d prefer to find him to be sure.” Concerned that the former doctor may have been involved in a Wheeljack-related-experiment/explosion, First Aid raised his left arm and activated his signature locator. Just about every medic and medical professional possessed one. Tuned to each medic’s specific energy signature, his or her colleague could locate them on the battle field…just in case.

In this instance, with Axle not answering his inter-Autobot radio it made sense to use it. In a matter of seconds the device had locked on to the wayward medic giving Aid his exact position. “Looks like Axle’s on the bridge. That would be…” He stepped through the tunnel and looked from his left and then to his right. “…this way.” He let out a sigh and lowered his arm. He shook his head. “I hope everything’s alright. He said he was going to be helping Wheeljack in his lab. I know he’s worried about Hex, what with him being involved with what happened on Earth, but not letting Ratchet or me know…” Aid let his concern hang in the air before he got quiet for a minute. “This’ll probably be your first test, Remington. Get Axle to think straight.”

Message to Ratchet

"Understood Ratchet. I will come to visit Warpath when he is cleared for company. I also agree that it is time we meet to compare notes. Join me in the Captains Ready Room in two breems with your findings."

A few minutes passed in silence as the link seemed to pause mid connection. With no real warning as to the disturbance or division of Magnus's attention. However the link soon returned with a short burst of static...

"If your report is not of a private patient doctor nature that requires the utmost sensitivities, I would like you to join myself and Kup in the Observation Lounge. I trust we will all find our combined information valuable to fill in our rather sparse tactical knowledge."

"No matter how dangerous the task, I know Rewind would of at least told me something! A note! A message! Data Slug! Who cares! Anything would of been better than just waltzing off the ship!"

Slag, someone is glitching, Ramhorn thought as he watched Chromedome pace around the bridge. After a breem of watching this, the rhino cassettobot's patience had finally stretched to its limit. He didn't care to hear one of his comrades accused of some supposedly grievous crime. Someone had to set this mech straight. It ought to be him since no one else was stepping up.

"Hey. You. Quit that moanin' and groanin', ya fraggin' glitch," Ramhorn grumbled in his usual irate tone, "Yer worryin' fer nothin'. Do ya honestly think anyone would send Rewind on a high risk mission? He ain't exactly equipped fer the job. Even if he was, he'd be with a bunch o' bots that were. So stop yer whinin' and get outta here. Make somethin' of yerself until Rewind gets back."

With an exasperated sigh, Ramhorn settled back down at the foot of the command chair to await someone to relieve him. He couldn't exactly monitor one of the stations because he didn't have hands, so the best he could do was stand guard. He was a warrior. A proud one. And an irritable one. But he tried to get along with his comrades. Sometimes it just didn't work out that way. His gruff demeanor could be off-putting.

"So Glock," Eject began, "How would you feel if I organized a fight for you sometime? Like the old days. I'm sure some friendly competition would help lift some spirits. It's not the same as slagging some 'Cons, but it keeps you sharp."

"Not a bad idea," Steeljaw commented quietly. While combative skills were important, Steeljaw would much rather occupy himself with his favorite pastime: tracking. The lion cassettobot scented the air. Mostly old scents. The only recent ones were their own and those of Chromedome and Tailgate. Were few wandering about the halls in the lull? And still the scent of energon tainted the air. Energon split by Autobot hands. The tracker emitted a low rumble, barely audible.

"We could host it in one of the training halls. Or one of the mess halls really if we cleared away some space for the ring...Well, anyway, what do you think?" Eject asked. He really wanted to organize some events. There hadn't exactly been many opportunities in the past. Races would be nice. Especially given that Blurr was on duty here. There was the issue of space however. No room for a track on these ships.

"How would I feel...," Glock repeated the question, her voice fading into a whisper.

For a moment, she was lost in memories of long-forgotten excitement. Her vision swam. She was again inside the ring. Her opponent down by her feet. Permanently down, sprawled on the ring floor, knocked out flat. Flashes of spotlight. Wild cheering. The crowd chanting her name. Catalysts in her fluidstream rushing and rushing and rushing. Barely able to stand. The taste of victory.

On top of the world.

And Eject seriously asked how she would feel?

'I'd pouns the solid slag outta them,' she said and her fist shot out reflexively, as if striking an imaginary foe. The cocky smirk so characteristic of her during her active sporting days was back on her face. Tempered by vorns spent in a disciplined environment, but it still was the very same expression.

If Beretta had been there, she could have felt cranium aches coming.

'You line'em up,' Glock said, jutting a finger at Eject, 'and I'll knock'em out.'

The game was on.

Hot Spot walked from his personal chamber down the hallway and onto the turbo lift. Then it took him up to the bridge and open up.

"What is the current status report of the ship and fleet around Earth?"

Hot Spot then walked over to the command chair looking at Ramhorn and Chromedome as he took his seat hoping neither mech would be in his way. To his dismay, his fellow Protectobots weren't at their stations with most likely First Aid being the exception. It has always been difficult to get him out of the med bay unless it was to fetch a part and even then it was quickly back to the med bay to work on a patient or go over some charts.

Chromedome began to try and gather his thoughts, at the risk of being yelled at again by Ramhorn. He turned towards the door and decided that he'd go back to the mess hall and perhaps "drink" his sorrows away, like a lot of the other troopers seem to do when they are feeling down. Who knows, maybe his buddies could help take his mind off his worrying for a while while he was there. He hadn't noticed Hot Spot walk in, must of came in while he and the cassettobot warrior were yelling back and forth at one and another. Regardless, he gave a slight wave to the Protectobot commander just as he was passing through into the corridor.

Chromedome halted his trek to the mess hall to listen to Huffer's communique. He couldn't determine the urgency of the situation based on Huffer's tone, but he mentioned that Ironfist needed his help, so whatever they're working on must be pretty big. He didn't care what it was, he needed something to get his processor off of Rewind's life being in danger for awhile. The mnemosurgeon turned back towards the direction of the docking ring and began to strut off again.

Docking Ring

Chromedome turned the corner of the corridor and gazed into the boarding tube that joined the two Autobot vessels together. The mnemosurgeon looked around slightly puzzled. He usually hears a lot about the traffic that runs between the two ships, how it seems that for every bot that travels to the Ark-22 the Guardian gets two more. He shrugged it off and walked through into the boarding tube.

Hot Spot looks down at the chronometer and looks around the bridge crew. It isn't like his Protectobots to be late for an assignment even if things have been rather dull for the past several cycles. As he was getting ready to summon them, Streetwise, Blades, and Groove show up to take their positions.

"I guess it is better late then never even through rarely we are late."

Blades looks over to their commander with a slight smirk.

"We were just finishing up a few things in the quarters. It isn't like much is happening around here."

"It is true, Blades, things are quiet but it isn't any excuse to take things lightly. You know what I expect out of all of you personally as well as the crew of the Guardian."

Hot Spot then turns to a panel on his chair and opens up a ship wide communication.

"Attention crew of the Guardian, I want a report from each crew chief and department head in the next five cycles. I don't want us to go soft during this quiet time. Ratchet, First Aid, do we have a report on the occupants in the medical bay?"

With Chromedome calmed down and walking out of the bridge and Hot Spot walking in, Ramhorn could finally be relieved from duty. With a sigh of relief, the rhino cassettobot began to make his way toward the exit when Hot Spot asked a very broad and general question that might take cycles trying to explain. Or not.

"We're floating in space waiting for the 'Cons to do something. Good-bye, sir."

Ramhorn continued on his way out of the bridge. Blaster had gone to the science laboratory for whatever reason, leaving Ramhorn to watch over the bridge until someone relieved him. With that out of the way, the rhino cassettobot fully intended to reunite with his commanding officer for further instructions. Blaster was one of the few bots that Ramhorn respected. There were few that he tolerated. He opened up a comm to his commander.

After the very short and simple report from Ramhorn was done along with the reports from his ship wide reports with the exception of the med bay, Hot Spot realized things been too quiet for a long while. Often this brings up two problems. The Cons are more likely planning something or already doing something and the Autobots get too relaxed along with moral dropping. He then decides to open up a private communication to First Aid even though Ratchet is the CMO in the sector.

>>First Aid, where are you at? I am wanting a report on the patients on the Guardian.<<

Once he closes the line, he opens up another one to Ultra Magnus to hopefully address the moral problem.

>>Commander Ultra Mangus, I hope I'm not disturbing you but from my reports I received from my department heads, it seems things are getting too quiet on the Guardian. I'm wondering if it the same over on the Ark-22. The only ones who have seen action or on a mission are the ones who had the incident on Earth and Prowl's exploration group. It may be wise to consider some sort of drill or entertainment for the rest of the crew.<<

"Sweet!" Eject exclaimed. He was excited. Well, excited may have been an understatement in Eject's case. It wasn't often that he met one of his former sports idols. Well. Sort of. There was Blurr who was somewhere around here. Smokescreen used to be a racer of some sort too. Not like Blurr, but still something definitely on Eject's radar.

Steeljaw sat silently beside his comrade, amused at the diminutive surveillance cassettobot. This was like a dream come true for his friend. The lion cassettobot was happy for his friend. He had no idea where he intended to hold this bout or how he'd even begin to organize it, but happy nonetheless.

A new scent caught his attention. A very familiar one at that. Ramhorn. He was nearby somewhere...Someone had relieved him from his assignment in the bridge. That turned Steeljaw's thoughts to Blaster...and the last assignment that he had given them. To traitors. And their fallen comrades. It made the tracker want to be on the prowl...In the action.

>>"Steeljaw. Arcee here. I need you to report to the Science Lab on the Ark 22. We have a mission."<<

How very convenient. Steeljaw wasn't sure what to expect, but he'd eagerly jump for the chance to be out there. The lion cassettobot rose and shook himself. He looked at Eject and Glock. "Very sorry for this, but I must take my leave. It seems I have an assignment. Eject. Miss Glock. Farewell."

With a look at Eject and a deep nod to Glock, Steeljaw turned and made his way toward the docking ring connecting the two ships.

Docking Ring

"Finally!" Blurr said with a sigh of relief as he and Ingram reached the connecting point between the Guardian and the Ark-22. Not that he minded Ingram's company - he rather enjoyed as a matter of fact - but that still didn't change the fact that his normal pace and everyone else's normal pace were two different things entirely.

His plans for the bar had progressed into picking out the design of the tables and their seats, what color scheme, and how many coats of paint he should put on it. Of course, if Ultra Magnus vetoed his idea...that might put a hitch in his plans. A pretty big one. Plus there was also the issue of a constant energon supply. Plus the synthetic kind tasted rather disgusting.

The blue speedster turned to look at his robust feminine comrade with a smile. It was nice of her to go out of her way to accompany him to talk to Ultra Magnus. Incredibly so.

"Thanks for coming with me, Ingram! Ireally appreciateit! Youthink Ultra Magnus is on the bridge? Where shouldwe head first?"

After a few cycles of waiting and observing, Hot Spot got his response from Ultra Magnus. It wasn't one he expected so it piqued his interest in what the sector commander had in mind.

"Blades, Streetwise, and Groove, you are with me. Sandstorm, you are in charge."

Opening a private line to First Aid, Hot Spot contacted his favorite medic.

>>First Aid, it seems Ultra Magnus has need of us. I'll let you know where to meet us at once I know.<<

After it was done, Hot Spot open up a channel to Ultra Magnus.

>>Sector Commander, my Protectobots are ready to bounce down at your command.<<

Hot Spot signals his three Protectobots and they follow him down to the bounce chamber after stopping by weapons locker.

“Ugh! I am so frakkin' bored,” Sideswipe whined and paced in the hallways he had followed Hoist to. The mechanic had slipped out of the crimson warrior’s sight and was now MIA. Sideswipe had then staked a claim to a side alcove where he decided to wait the green mech out. But waiting patiently just wasn’t something the hot headed frontline soldier was known for. Smashing ‘Cons until they were hardly recognizable yes, but sitting back and taking it easy until something happened, not gonna happen.

“It’s been like, what, nearly a vorn and the slagger still hasn’t come back!” Sideswipe threw his hands up and slammed his back against the wall. He growled lowly while sliding down slowly to his aft. This was killing him. All he wanted was to see how his little prank had played out. But no. The victim had to go and take a powder.

At least now he could do something he was good at…mope. It wasn’t fun but at least it would take his mind off of the failure he had just been handed. Of course the reason for his moping wouldn’t allow him to forget said failure for very long.

Sideswipe drew his knees to his chest and laid his chin down, his arms wrapping loosely around his legs. A low huff escaped while he prepared to go all out with this first stage of intense brooding. “Can’t believe this. What the frag went wrong?”

And so it began.

“I was so careful. I knew exactly where he was going and I still lost him anyway.” Forehead to knees Sideswipe grunted in frustration.

Several moments of complete silence passed when Sideswipe was jarred from his melancholy. It took a moment for him to realize that it was his comm line and not something that needed to be pummeled that required his attention.

A broad knowing smile spread over the red twin’s face as he listened closely to Springer’s message. His attention was piqued with the “…meet me in the …weapon storage facility…it’s within the firing range…” line. Everything else was either not relevant or just too hard to concentrate on knowing that he’d be going to an area that housed weapons.

Sideswipe jumped up from the floor and fist pumped the air with extreme enthusiasm. “Oh yeah! This is gonna be perfect!” His arm lowered and his broad smile faded and his expression turned serious, “Hoist can have his little victory. But once I get back that’ll change.” A moment of pause and another smirk made it to the warrior’s visage.

From the small alcove Sideswipe shot out and ran through the corridors nearly taking out several bots along the way. He had to have made it to the Ark – 22’s docking ring in record time.

Without looking back Sideswipe crossed over onto the 22 and took off toward the weapon’s storage facility.

Broadcast from Ark 22 to Guardian

All terminal screens flickered to life if they were offline, and online one's outputs interrupted as a broadcast from Blaster began with a simple message onscreen that read, 'IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM ULTRA MAGNUS' in wide print and bold. In areas without those, the intercom systems crackled to life and then fell silent. The screens' display flickered and the bold text was replaced by the powerful visage of Ultra Magnus:

"Attention Autobots. As of last stellar cycle, I have assumed command of the united Sol Forces of the Autobot Army, Navy and Air Forces. Prowl has stepped down to resume his initial and pivotal role in the chain of operations. As for our Supreme Commander Optimus Prime. Many rumors of his demise have continually circulated throughout the star system, and many of those involve the congruent death of Megatron as well..." Magnus paused, his words hung unspoken but it was clear to those who knew him well that the very mention of his departed brother still bit at his processors. "While I cannot offer any level of security on the condition of Megatron, I can promise that whether he is functional or not, our fight with the seeds he has sewn into the fertile grounds that is his faithful is far from over. Units such as the Combaticons, once reported to be under the command of Shockwave, have been sighted and encountered in system. That encounter gives evidence that Shockwave has abandoned Cybertron, with other reports from other Autobot operatives, and is in system... most likely onboard the Thanatos."

He allowed the reports to settle in before he continued. "A strategic move that holds little meaning if Megatron is still functional or present within the sector. Again this is a logical progression of available pieces of evidence and does not initially confirm this belief and should not be taken that the Decepticons have suffered a major blow to their over all capabilities.

As for the rumors of Optimus, my brother... We have not yet found evidence that he was destroyed in that encounter between he and Megatron. No molecular traces have been discovered either, which tends to grant to a working hypothesis... of which I dare not to delve into for possibly stoking false senses of hope or dread."

His figure immediately bolstered, his shoulders stiffened and his optics flared to life. Discussing the possibility of discovering proof of his brother's death clearly tore at him, though he never showed it to the passing mechanism.

"Under the authority of Grimlock, the Ark 19 was deemed irreparable. Given the sentiment of the chief engineer of the Guardian, Ironfist, this was confirmed that only minor patches could be made to the vessel and a more complete facility was required to meet the required needs of the stricken ship. I realize that many onboard the 22 and Guardian called the 19 their home for a great length of time. She was proud vessel and has carried a proud tradition. Thus it was decided to dispatch her for repairs. Grimlock volunteered his team for the operation, though their methods were less than civil and has left a litany of displeasure regarding their departure. These matters with regards to their departure will be addressed at a more opportune time. For those involved in that incident, of which I am sure there are numerous, I will hear your comments and your reports as presented and take them in context with known events and evidence."

An unfortunate event that he had to discuss before the more positive aspects of his initiatives. But it was something that Jazz had brought to his attention, and Prowl needed closure, though he knew the black and white strategist would never admit to it. "As for events that have taken place since my arrival. The sequestering of our forces onboard our two vessels in Earth orbit is not a tactic I completely support, though at the time I do believe I can understand the perceived necessity. However, though our presence on the planet has slowed our discovery, it has not stalled the fortification of smaller Decepticon units on the surface. In order to prevent future incursions onto this planet, I have initiated what has been dubbed Operation: Autobot City. Under the guidance of Prowl and a team of specialists, we have begun scouting a location for a new semi permanent colony on the planet in which we can more fully defend the planet from off world incursion.

To further the success of this operation, we have begun implementation of a development blitz. We can no longer allow ourselves to have the terms of this conflict dictated to us. In order to improve the construction and effectiveness of our future Autobot City, I have asked and now I put a call to any Autobot onboard the 22 or the Guardian, with engineering or scientific backgrounds to check in with Wheeljack for further instructions or project assignments.

In addition to these tasks that I have laid before our Autobot Corps of Engineers, I have begun reviewing policies of Earth side scouting and research opportunities. Earth is not our home, we are merely visitors to this world, brought here by the same tyranny and lust that has stained and demolished our very sparks. In Optimus's memory, I will not allow the same fate of Cybertron and countless other worlds to befall this one."

He paused again, this time he mused to himself quietly as he watched the others on the bridge.

"As for more pressing matters that overlap with our current programs that have been established. Reports regarding the defection of Hot Rod, Hardhead and Hex must be addressed. These rumors are false to the highest degree. As it stands, these individuals have been infected with a powerful entity that has driven them to a depth of darkness that lurked within their personalities. This infection is extremely dangerous and incredibly lethal. It is the embodiment of a legendary horror unlocked from the dark caverns of Cybertron's distant past. Named the Fallen," the name drove several quick gasps by those units who had just come on duty in the lower levels and wells. "The fallen, a usurper and betrayer of ancient Primes, a slayer of brothers and a murderer of innocent sparks, has assumed control of Hot Rod and reformed him. This Black Rodimus plans the entire obliteration of the Cybertronian race."

"Black Rodimus's power alone is more than a match for our combined forces here on Earth. That reality is inescapable. Therefore, I am initiating a parley with the Decepticons to combine our forces in neutralizing this threat. We will rescue our comrades, their deaths are an unacceptable outcome to future operations. Therefore during our negotiations and our planning, I want all available Autobots to check in their status with medical staffs of their assigned vessels and prepare for deployment."

"I am aware that this is a lot of information for a great many to assimilate. And there are still details that are unclear and cannot be made public until we know the full breadth of their implications. However, it must be made clear here and now. I am Ultra Magnus, I accept the responsibility as your Commander. We will not fail in our ambitious endeavors. The memory and the hope of Optimus Prime will guide us in our actions and act as a beacon through these dark crises..."

The white screen returned as the feed was cut and the words 'BROADCAST END' were printed across the screens' display before cutting off completely.

Bounce Chamber

After watching the message broadcast from Ultra Magnus, Hot Spot walks over to the communication pad and punches in the proper codes. After he was done, he walked back over to the bounce pad and checked all of his systems as his group does the same. He still wonders if First Aid is going to join them. If things don't go well, having him on the surface would be crucial but ideally things do go smoothly.

Wheeljack’s Lab

Tracer hadn’t thought the lab was that big. But First Aid and his search for the missing mechanical engineer made it seem as though the place was the size of a black hole. She watched as the doctor went in and out of spaces she hadn’t even realized were there. After a few minutes of following his movements she raised her hand slightly. “Um, Aid.” The Protectobot stuck his head out from the rear room and looked at Tracer. “Yeah?”

For a moment Tracer just stood trying to come up with something believable to tell the red and white mech. She had just come up with something and opened her mouth to speak when First Aid put his hand to the side of his head. “Hold that thought, Trace. I’ve got Hot Spot in my audio.” A small relieved smile formed on her face as she nodded.

>>”Sorry, Hot Spot. The patients in the Med Bay; Ricochet is recovering in a CR Chamber. Warpath is the same. Howlstrike…his surgery was successful and he should be out of the CR Chamber in the next two mega-cycles.”<< He paused for a moment wondering if he should even mention the other two mechs who had been killed during their initial meeting with The Fallen. >> “And you know what happened with Tonton and Bidder.”<< First Aid quieted for a moment.

The doctor’s attention was grabbed once more when the Protectobot Commander announced that he was going to be needed along with his brothers on a mission sanctioned by Ultra Magnus himself. First Aid straightened up. >> “Yes Sir. I’m heading back to the Guardian’s Bounce Chamber now.”<<

The link was severed and First Aid looked to both femmes. The smile that had formed under his face mask was easily detected by Tracer. The scout had been a part of the Guardian crew for a long time and First Aid was someone she considered a friend.

“Everything okay, Aid?” Tracer had cocked her head slightly. He was just about to answer when the terminals in the lab flashed switching frequencies. In the place of all the mechanical schematics was the face of Ultra Magnus. The trio focused all attention on the Commander.

Tracer and First Aid were silent as they looked at one another. Forgotten was her need for another dose of Syk. Instead the fear of Smokescreen volunteering for this so called mission flashed in her processor. “I need to get going. I have to meet Hot Spot in the Guardian’s Bounce Chamber.” First Aid said quietly. Tracer nodded slowly. “And I have to find Smokescreen. I’m not letting him go down planet-side alone.” Tracer pushed past First Aid who followed along behind her.

((OOC: Okay, I'm gonna try to get something up for Sides, Ratchet, Axle and Tracer by the end of the weekend. If I don't please don't hurt me.))
