I've only seen dark figures on a dark background from you so far. It's a tricky subject. I've seen pictures of customs photographed on a pure black background and it's look amazing (apart from the fact that you can't make out any of the figure's details, which is bad when you're showing off your custom...).
I tried photographing my TFP Megatron on a white background but I didn't like the effect and so I did this:
...and felt that it made him really pop.

Hmmm, I've just seen your Orion Pax pix and I'm wondering if you need better, stronger lighting and a darker background for him! Maybe there's just too much going on in the background - it's got stripes.
