Decided to mess with a very, very old friend: Universe Energon Windrazor, AKA my first TF ever! I got him at a CVS many moons ago (and his energon chip was lost at that very same CVS a moon or two after :lol:

), and he has endured a lot, as evidenced by the loose joints (especially the ankles), chipped paint, rust, and hard-water residue. But he has survived intact, and has a spot on my shelf to this day.

Man......i just love Blot. I even bought the 3rd party fig as a stand alone homage to the character. I didn't buy the team, just BLOT.

I saw Vangelus' review for that third party Blot and... my god, how well he's made and how much he can do just makes me want him on his own. They made his really weird undefined G1 alt-mode into this big badass bruiser with some insanely good arms he can even use in robot mode. I love him so much

I wish the rest of the Unique Toys NotTerrorcons had been as cool as their NotBlot. He looks absolutely incredible (and has a BIG HAND MODE to boot) and the rest seem slightly disappointing in comparison. That said I'm waiting on Maketoys to do an Abominus- I was really impressed by their Defensor.

Yeah. Supposedly the combined mode is pretty good (if a bit partsformy, though not to the degree of ToyWorld's offerings) but the other individual 'bots, whilst not bad, are just a bit...generic. Like, they're G1 accurate but that's about it.

You know, if I were a 3P designer and I were doing Abominus, I'd want to make him as unique as possible, with a really monstrous look to him. So instead of the rather generic sword, he'd have a huge club/tetsubo, and his legs could be optionally transformed to give him digitigrade legs, with options for his feet as either cloven hooves or clawed talons. On top of that I'd give him BW-esque "gribbly biomechanical detail" sculpting everywhere.

I was thinking along the same lines about an Abominus a while back. Just have the design of the bots and in their combined mode be true abominations. Mixing Organic like and robotic aesthetics into a monstrous abomination that by all rights just shouldn't exist because it defies all laws of "biology" both cybertronian and whatever else that was used to give them some semblance of a functioning form. It would make ya wanna barf just looking at him ...lol. Franikenstein monster type of vibe but cranked up to 11.

That would be a fun Abonimus to me. I remember back in the day i saw photos of a customiser doing something along those lines but i think the project sort of faded away and fizzled out. But the guy was really on the right track butchering up all sorts of parts from all kinds of toylines and coming up with some really clever renders of most of the team that transformed and combined. Alas i think that project has faded into oblivion though because that was years and years ago. But it was a very inspired realization of a true transforming abomination that was fitting for a team called the Terrorcons.

That is indeed a very good Blot. I actually love those Legion Terrorcons to bits (even with poor Sinnertwin's horrendously designed thigh plates which will snap if you transform him too much).

Dual-headed dragon mode it really cool, and I liked it more than I expected to. Takes some effort to get the hips tabbed in right, but it's possible.

(I wonder how obvious it is that the second pic was taken a few weeks ago...) ...anyway, bot mode is just as impressive, and the lack of wrist articulation doesn't bug me that much.

Oh, in the third picture, see if you can figure out what's in the background.
