I'm leaning towards this guy, mostly because of the robot mode proportions. I do kind of like the tail light shoulder blades on Spinout, though.

A bunch of new reviews for this guy have gone up, and a lot of people have him in hand. Still waiting on my notification from BBTS, although I'm going to keep him in my PoL for a month or so.

Spinout has a better back, but Sunsurge wins in every other aspect.

I did notice that in the pre-production versions. But, I'll most likely always be seeing a front or 3/4 of the figure type of view so I won't really notice all of the exposed stuff. And you can always have the rockets pegged back there and it is an instant rocket pack that never existed

Doesn't anyone else have this figure yet? I've had mine for over a week and I love him! Poseability is crazy, although the ankles are a bit annoying. I think he's the closest thing I have to a perfect Transformer.

I wish I did!! I'm guessing I missed the first shipment at BBTS. Fairly certain I'll be weighing pros/cons of sticking with BBTS or just getting it from The Chosen Prime. I think they have similar pre-order/stacking/credit for cancelling policies.

The only thing that's keeping me from biting the bullet is not knowing if there'll be an official MP Sunstreaker. Otherwise this is the version I'm going with.

I feel like that's how I am with everything 3rd party. I like Gundog (Hound) and Sphinx (Mirage) but I'd rather have the official. I had the reissue of FANS TOYS FT03 pre-ordered and cancelled once the official was announced days later. First world problems!!!

I very quickly went from "sweet, but I'll wait for official" to "wait... what if it's never made?!" after reading Tfsource's article. They say that this version of the Countach never existed, is that true? Since the Lambo license was acquired and Sideswipe was made I just assumed that Sunstreaker was a shoe-in. But if it isn't even a real car, then what would be the likelihood of Lambo letting them make him?

Omnigonix Spinout. I've been leaning that way. The only nitpicks I have are his front wheels not really tucking under the front fender like they should, and non-clear lens headlamps.

Not to knock any else's choice, but I'm really not diggin Spinout. The engines sticking way out in bot mode, and the faux roof/windshield on Surgio looks much better to me.

Sorry, I meant I'm going to get Sunsurge. I was waiting to here from somebody with a spin out in hand, but I think Badcube has won my money.

As far as an official Takara 'streaker, I don't think there will be one, or if there is, it will just be a retool/repaint of 'swipe. Having already aquired the Lambo license, I think if he was coming, he would be here by now. "Official" is an empty term to me anyway, so I'd only care if their version looked better. If that happens down the road, I'll just sell surge, and pick up the Takara version.

I just need to quit being ridiculous and spend the $100 for Sunsurge. Dang it.

I really thought Sunstreaker would be a heavy retool of the Wheeljack mold as far as transformation goes. Obviously make it a Countach but as far as everything else goes it SHOULD use that transformation, right? The could even compress the roof! I need to go grab Wheeljack off the shelf and transform him a few times to verify this

Yeah, I could totally see a official MP Sunstreaker using the MP Wheeljack transformation. The car even has the circle taillights like Sunsurge and the cartoon model Sunstreaker do!

I believe it was just a concept car.

I don't think that logic works, they don't seem to have any logical order to releases so far. As it needs to be very different from Sideswipe it wouldn't be a quick job.

For those not sure about buying Sunsurge I can tell you: his engineering is amazing. I have no QC issues (although the ball joints in his feet are too tight and oil didn't affect it at all). His transformation is amazing.
