As for Devil Trigger, unless Bayonetta has shown regeneration abilities like Dante, Devil Trigger doesn't just make him stand apart, it makes him completely slaughter Bayonetta until her game is actually interesting.

They finish off bigger bosses then most of the things thrown at Dante.I figure she whittles him down or gets him off guard them hits him with demon summons.
And then what does she do? Watch as Dante slaughters those demons? And exactly how big are they? Bigger than Leviathan or Savior? While we're at it, I ask again, what exactly does Bayonetta have in the way of regeneration abilities? Because Dante doesn't even show scars from any of the times he's been run through. Or the time Lady shot him in the forehead. Or any of the times he's been cut, slashed, blown up, electrocuted, etc. I mean, does Bayonetta take anywhere near the beating Trish gave Dante at the beginning of DMC1? Does Bayoneta shoot bullets out of the air like Dante did when you fight him as Nero?
And remember, everything I've said about Dante, he did without using Devil Trigger. Devil Trigger enhances all of these abilities exponentially.

If we're talking about what goes on Cut scenes his Devil Trigger activies are infrequent which would lead one to believe he can not sustain them for long periods of time save for when he fight the boss at the end of pt.1 and if I remember correctly something had to happen for that extended sequence to take place. The question remains can Dante survive being drawn and Quartered now if anyone has play DMC especially pt 3 know is that Dante can die. (outside of Cutscences at least) So far I've seen one her summons last for half a boss fight then At the it multiplied at six times and ripped a "angel" the size of a Aircraft carrier to shreds. at the end of the day only Hideki Kamiya the man who created both can answer the question.
EDIT I forgot mention about her ability to make torture devices appear at random including a BMF Chainsaw.

Yes, he can. I just explained how you can't remove his body parts because his regeneration works so fast.

It's called "Gameplay and story segregation," according to TVtropes. Just because something can happen in gameplay doesn't mean the character is actually capable of it.

It's called a "Hyperspace arsenal" again according to TVtropes. Dante has one as well, though they toned it down in DMC3 and 4. Even then, he can equip himself with a wide variety of strangely concealable weapons almost at will, including somehow being able to hide Kalina Ann.

Um...Lady, (Beaten into submission by Dante) Trish, (Beaten first by Dante, later beaten by Mundus) Nevan, (Killed by Dante) Echidna, (Beaten first by Nero, then later killed by Dante) he's definitely lying. Or he forgot three of his own games.

I would say that has to do with the fact that Bayonetta is unstoppable in her own Universe, it's a gimmick slogan to hype and get people's interest in a given product like:"He-Man the strongest Man in the Universe". It's like SEGA's promotion for the upcoming Sonic game, "Speed returns".

I stand corrected, he only directed DMC1. The one that isn't as good as DMC3 or 4, and is only better than 2, which isn't saying much since 2 was the low point in the series.
