Anyway back on topic.

I somehow think there will be more to this set, these guys usually pack guns and heads and sh+t into their sets, this just looks too simple. There might be something else they aren't showing yet.

That's right youre not a mod, so I can call you out now...

Care to clarify why you just called me a douchbag ?

I have no problem being on your "ignore list" but keep the name calling to yourself.

I think it's a great idea and is executed very well.

If the price is right i would scoop this up for Trailbreaker no problem.

I'm not entirely sure i like that Trailcutter mold very much in the first place but this shield and hands gimmick almost makes me want to buy the fig and get this set up.

I like these types of add on kits.

As long as the price isn't too bad, I'll be all over it.

I'd take shoulder missiles too if they threw those in there.

I do too. Dead Metal has done well for himself. I don't know if it's that I'm too masochistic, or just that it's always interesting when the broken watch is right twice a year.

My, we are a passionate bunch of plastic toy lovers, aint we!

Nice to hear Beelzeboss are back with something new.

This looks like a cool set for Trail* (blazer;breaker;cutter - *delete as necessary).

So we will be getting a pair of replacement hands and transparent 'force shield' to stand in front of the figure... I just hope this set is priced under the £14/$20 price tag or I will be giving this set an unfortunate miss? :-?

Yea, this should be fairly cheap, unless they decide to include the back-mounted missiles.
Just realized, the two pics of the toy is just Trail-thingy with artwork of the hands and shield, until now I thought it showed prototypes.

No dude Trailbreacker was a defensive strategist he always had a forcefield this set is replicating him using the force field. It is really cool and gives fans the ability to display him in a new unique way.

It's useless, Rated X will never ever ever get the concept of non-G1 characters. [-(

Last time I checked, Trailbreaker was a G1 character. Sure IDW had a ball with the G1 cast. But nothing beats the original.

I think I have you on a technicality, this time.

The character's, and figure's, name is Trailcutter. Image

True. But isn't "Trailcutter" just a "We couldn't get the license for Trailbreaker" type of name by Hasbro? Isn't he named Trailbreaker in the IDW comic?

On the upgrade set itself, I recall G1 Trailbreaker emits his force field through something on his back in the cartoon as seen in the famous Rainmakers scene. Having it shoot from his hands is way too super heroish for me. As you can imagine, I’m not an avid comic book reader, mainly because I hate superheroes.

No his name is Trailcutter in the comics.

The toy is supposed to be idw Trailbreaker/ Trailcutter, this set gives him his signature ability and further reflects his comic incarnation. There is nothing to complain about here at all. It's a comic accurate accessory set for a comic character.

You want a more G1 accurate thing? Check shapeways.

And comics aren't just Superheroes, that like saying I don't watch TV because I hate documentaries.

I get what your saying. But I'm not the only person calling for add-ons to make Hasbro "Trailcutter" more G1 cartoon accurate. Read the "Things 3rd parties should make" thread. It's been suggested by others.

I never said all comic books are superheroes. As a teen, I loved me some Dark Horse comics. From what I've seen of IDW's work, they're like the new Dark Horse. But even with some good stuff out there, when you think comic books it's hard not to picture the stereotypical men wearing tight spandex costumes with weird powers. Either that or bubble gum stuff like Archie and Jughead. That's just a conclusion a majority of non-comic book readers would think. Not saying it's 100% accurate. It is what it is.

Here's the thing, you came in here complaining about it while failing to understand what it is, then once it's been explained to you, you keep going on arguing why you're right. Seriously, it's getting old real old.
Whenever you don't understand something or have no idea what it is, you complain and bitch, and when it's explained to you you keep on bitching and complaining and arguing your point as if you even had one to begin with, the most hilarious one being Hasbro "stealing" the more accurate MP Starscream from iGear.

Adn you said you don't read comics because you hate Superheroes, which is just as stupid as me stating I don't watch TV because I hate documentaries. It's right there in the quote tree and in your original post, so don't try to pass it off as if I misinterpreted what you said, I am after all not you.

Dude please chill out. The comic this figure jumped from the pages of was shoehorned into the ongoing story. The figure designed a long time ago, as is usual for the company that made him. the comic he comes with was thrown together and squeezed into the story to sell a toy. while this is IDW Trailcutter, this is absolutely CHUG Trailbreaker. This is the answer to what fans have been askinf for for years. It is not unreasonable for collectors to ask for more G1 themed accessories and to flip out on him like you did is unacceptable in my opinion.

Yes this figure is Trailcutter
Yes this is Classics Trailbreaker as well.
In my opinion, a set like this should come with the weapons and accessories needed to make this figure look more G1 as well as stuff help bring the comic to life on your display shelf or in your playtime.

This is a discussion and i would rather read about why he doesn't like a product (Superheroish/hasbroish) than just read that he doesn't want it or that its a pass, as often is the case with a lot of our comrades.

and while we're pointing out BS, you and Nos filled half the page with nothing. thanks for that. and you called a member of the forums a Douche-bag. nice job. reported that one.

Yes, this is, essentially, CHUG Trailbreaker. However, this is also, essentially, the IDW Trailcutter, so it's more of a blend of 2 characters with snippets from one continuity mixed with another.

Yes, this figure could benefit from a weapon or two to make it more G1-esque. I don't feel as though X was wrong about that. However, just as Dead Metal said, X has a bad habit of "complaining about it while failing to understand what it is, then once it's been explained to you, you keep going on arguing why you're right.". Dead Metal's statements were blunt, yes, but they were not inaccurate and I hardly view his statements as 'flipping out'.

On that note, I apologize for 'filling the page with nothing'..., however, the constant inane ramblings to which X is so partial has likely filled half the 3rd party forums 'with nothing', not to mention the countless other forums to which he frequents. Seems a little unfair of you to call out me and Dead Metal when you're defending someone for the very thing you dislike about our recent posts.

Lastly, calling X a douche-bag outright in the forums probably was a bit much, but one can hardly blame him if you've read even a quarter of what X posts. With that said, I'm not attempting to butt heads with you, but I felt I had a right to say something in my defense and the viewpoint I share with Dead Metal.

Back on topic, the force field is excellent and the hands aren't bad, but I hope this isn't the final offering as this figure could benefit from a handcannon and perhaps an extra gun. However, it would be nice if Beelzeboss offered something extra for other characters as well like they did with Sideswipe/Red Alert.

Some sort of extra for Hoist would definitely make this worth the investment. Perhaps they could even go the extra mile and include a proper ladder for Inferno.

Chill? That would imply I was raging and pissed off at the time, which isn't true.
Hasbro has been working close with idw for a while now. I remember them stating that they (Hasbro) where interested in a closer collaboration since All Hail Megatron, going so far as to forcing idw to use designs for some characters based on toys, some that made sense (Sunstreaker and Sideswipe, the Universe toys where pretty new at the time) other that made no sense at all (Seekers based on the MP mold, Starscream and Skywarp where long sold out, and Thudnercracker wasn't even available at the time.), back then some (including me) believe that to be utter Bullsh*t. Now that we see how the current season of Generations is mostly based on idw characters, and Sandstorm's design sketch being from 2010, we know that to be true. So you're partially right about Trail- who cares, but he's still the idw incarnation, and this set is still meant to further enhance that fact.
Dude, it's Rated X, I've had to deal with him for years, him and his unreasonable attitude. Most of his posts are geared towards pissing people off, often times he posts on stuff he has no interest in what-so ever, but he'll post just to piss people off. That's why he managed to accumulate so many warnings in such a short time.
What pisses me off even more about him is the fact that I used to defend him behind the scenes, until even I had to realize that he's a waste of matter.

If Rated X's behavior is acceptable to you, then me finally cracking and calling him out is more than acceptable.

Yes this figure is Trailcutter
Yes this is Classics Trailbreaker as well.
In my opinion, a set like this should come with the weapons and accessories needed to make this figure look more G1 as well as stuff help bring the comic to life on your display shelf or in your playtime.

No it shouldn't, it's an idw inspired set, making it a set that goes both ways would be a waste. Everybody would have parts he wouldn't need, the ones that want a cartoon feel would have the useless hands and this style of shield, and the idw fans would have the gun hand and shoulder launcher, and G1 style shield. And that pissed people off since they payed money for it.
This is a discussion and i would rather read about why he doesn't like a product (Superheroish/hasbroish) than just read that he doesn't want it or that its a pass, as often is the case with a lot of our comrades.

Fine, if you like his posts go back and make sure to read as many as I have, then we can see if you still love them.
and while we're pointing out BS, you and Nos filled half the page with nothing. thanks for that. and you called a member of the forums a Douche-bag. nice job. reported that one.

But it was only half the page, and we brought it back on topic, I've seen worse derailments. And while we're at it, you're doing the exact same thing here, tell me, how exactly does your post or the posts that respond to it relate to the topic of an idw inspired upgrade set for idw Trailbraker exactly?
Doesn't matter if you did report that, I'll still be safer from being banned or have insulted less users and members of staff than Rated X has. So he can go and offend and piss people off as much as he likes and you'll defend him, but if I finally snap and do the same to him I'm suddenly on your bad side?

On the set, I don't see the problem. IDW inspired accessories for an IDW inspired Trailbreaker. Makes sense. No interest for me since I have no interest in TB aside from completing my Season 1-the movie collection, but more power to those who are a fan.

I'd rather see G1 inspired accessories, if anything. But having them in the same set would be unwise, seperate sets would be a better idea.

Anybody else thing it would have been cool if this set came with a shield that's connected to one or both hands to simulate the hands projecting it?

Didn't Trailbreaker use force fields in the G1 cartoons? I don't see why people who want this in their classics collection not want this.

He did, but there he projected it from a shoulder mounted gun or gun-looking device.

Some of the other stuff I think should be included in a set of IDW comic stuff. I guess if it were just Prelude to darkness idw related that would be kkinda cool. sort of like that gears of war set( or whatever it was called that had a ladder for inferno and cloak box for Mirage and some guns for sideswipe. In the comic, Hoist and Sunstreaker arm to the teeth with weapons built from scratch by Hoist using parts found on their ship, If this set isn't G1/IDW compatible I think it would be great if it also included accessories for other figures from the line. Might be for a very niche audience but depending on the price, might make the set more appealing.

I love Beezleboss: I have the Sideswipe/Redalert kit, and I finally got a hold of the red Cliffjumper kit. They totally transform the figures into something 10x better. I think I love upgrade kits better than full 3rd party figures if that makes sense?

That said, Trailcutter and Hoist are just begging for a G1 upgrade. The way they were designed it looks like it would be fairly easy to pull off too. I'm sorry I never read the comics...these guys already have the IDW look, why not give some G1 fans some love?!

I have the Beelzeboss Red Alert/Sideswipe kit too. It's pretty great, even if the shoulder cannon is kind of flimsy on mine.

I agree - on the whole, I like upgrade kits a bit better. It makes it so that your figure is still "official," just with some minor changes/additions.

At a certain point, the $30 price point on most of the kits starts to bother me because I know for twice the money I can get 20x the plastic with an entire 3rd Party or Takara figure, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

The weapons on that pic are being made by Zenith Forge.
