whats your favorite hang over cure/prevention?

of course not drinking is the BEST prevention, but what else do you do to keep the next day felling crappy from happening or what do you do to fix it?

something i have used many times myself : take a large glass , and a shweppes tonic and a Gini soda ,drink the whole thing down in one go.

The massive amout of bubbles and the kinine in the tonic is gonna kickstart your stomach , so either it rumbles into life ore it ruptures and you die....

It may sound weird but a really thick milkshake is one of the best cures that i found also a ploughmans sandwich seems to do the trick as well

Over here some people cure their hangover by doing something we call frühschoppen, they just drink the hangover away with beer.

personally ive yet to have my own method fail on me..

two pints of water before bed the night of said drinking along with something bready or filling to eat.. something like a subway or a pizza (usually within reach on my stumble home from a night out)

always wake up with little or no hangover in the morning..

hell.. it was new years last night and besides some chronic back ache today im fresh as a daisy

Seriously though, I've found that drinking 1-2 glasses of water and popping some ibuprofen before crashing does wonders.

First, never drink on an empty stomach. That's the biggest mistake I see some people make.

Second, I see some people here have already mentioned water. Drinking water after alcoholic beverages actually separates the alcohol more quickly within your body and thus makes you more drunk, but for a less amount of time. I highly state that if you drink water after alcohol, you are in the comfort of your own dwelling and not going to be leaving for anywhere such as the others stated that they then went to sleep.

Third, for those of you who stated that drinking alcohol to remove the hangover, that is somewhat an illusion. The new drinking is numbing your nerves and making them unable to feel the pain along with anything at all.

I, personally, go with the water, but do not believe it is the best for everyone. Each individual should try multiple methods and then determine which is the best for them. At all times, though, I suggest you do so in the comfort of your or someone else's place and that you stay there for the night.

Actually, not drinking is not cheating nor a cure for a hang over.

A hang over, by definition, occurs after drinking, therefore, not drinking is not a cure for a hang over because to have a hang over a person have drank beforehand.

I, myself, am not an alcoholic nor do I go out and drink til I'm sick and throwing up. As far as that type of drinking goes, I agree with you that it makes no sense. I do enjoy a good Captain and Coke on occasion, though.

This is, of course, purely speculation/opinion, but it seems to me that the intelligent drinkers are those that have chosen a drink of choice and have that drink on occasion rather than being a person who roams around all night long for several nights drinking whatever they can find and turning into an alcoholic.
