bit of a random question about classifications.

I know this sounds a bit of a stupid question but ive recently ditched most of my movieverse figures (i still keep a few cool ones) in favour of classics/universe/generations. I want to keep my main collection as classics-esque as possible and i was wondering where you would categorise the following figures (movieverse or Classics)? especially with Reveal the Shield blurring the lines between the 2 recently.
Reveal The Shield Lugnut
HFTD Seaspray
I ordered Grapple a few days ago and obviously he is G1, but the other 2 have me stumped and i dont want to mess with the overall aesthetic (dumb i know) of my collection.
Damn hasbro should keep the 2 lines seperate for the sake of novices like me lol

HFTD S'spray could be palmed off as his G1 incarnation, put him next to U-Powerglide and he won't look out of place.
RTS Lugnut, I'm not so sure. possibly explained away by some dimension hopping hijinks?

That was my thinking, i just found seaspray for less than £20 so bought it immediately. peaugh's review said he was quite classics/g1-esque.
Lugnut im still 50/50 about, i want it but hes so unique looking that i dont know that it would fit.
guess i can wait a while, got universe Darkwind, RTS Grapple, Seaspray and animated Hot Rod due in the next week anyway haha. damned online purchases

I'm a firm believer that RTS is meant to compliment the Generations line. Hasbro said once that they intend to keep Generations as an ongoing line of deluxe figures, even through the movie line and others. I suspect that RTS will come and go, and so will the next one, but in these lines there will be figures (smaller and larger) that are meant to go with the Generations line.
Seaspray, Grapple and Windcharger are for sure meant to be in the Generations line. Some of the others are a definate maybe.

I totally see your point. With Generations not (so far) having any Voyager Class figures its good they are fitted in somewhere. Still dont understand Hasbro logic. didnt in the 80's, dont now

I think intent was drawn to have Seaspray be a Generations figure, but Hasbro decided otherwise for the sake of marketing. Grappel and Windcharger are obviously meant to be Generations figs. Lugnut... well he appears in the comic that comes with the battle in space 2 pack and he's going to be part of Japan's United line instead of Autobot Alliance, so I'm gonna say he's meant to be another Generations fig.
One that does confuse me, however, is Breacher. It kinda seems like he was designed to go with Seaspray from the beginning, and he strays the farthest from the movie aesthetic in his line since he actually has a face. On the other hand he doesn't seem to be a throwback to any character from any prior TF... thing that I can identify. Maybe I'm reading into things too much, but he does seem like quite an oddity when ya think about it.

It's FunPub. It's their specialty.

don't take that to mean I'm a killjoy just because I can be, though...

if lugnut appeared in the BIS 2 pack comic then thats all i needed to hear. I totally forgot he was in the United line, wasnt keen on his colour scheme there tho, bit too G2-esque (i dont want my bots looking like theyre off to a rave). Guess im ordering him next week.
I love Breacher, he doesnt feel movieverse at all, more modern day anime/manga. Im not a big fan of scouts, but he is the exception to the rule. Kind of like drift minus the IDW backstory. Im suprised no repaints have been announced tbh given the recent influx of them, a head replacement and a turret weapon swap out and voila, new character. He looks funny next to universe hardhead to. slight size difference for such similar designs

Lugnut is classics-verse as he is part of the United line in Japan.
Seaspray is movie-verse, being part of the movie-verse HftD line.
But obviously, all that matters is if you think they fit or don't fit

The ONLY reason Seaspray was in the HftD line, and people KEEP FORGETTING THIS...
... Is that Generations was declared as a Deluxe class only line.
If they had not made that declaration, I am certain he would have been in Generations.

I find the easiest way to judge how something fits into a line aesthetically, is by using your eyes. Other people's judgement is flawed.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

yeah that does work too.
slightly more expensive but deffo the most valid way of knowing.
id debated waiting for the repaint/retool, but forget it. Im getting Lugnut, if he doesnt 'fit' he can go rule my movieverse deluxes

I'm not so sure of that, his legs just scream "movieverse" to me, the way they have that inhuman "backward knee" thingy going on.
That's not to say you can't use him as Clas/Uni/Gen anyway, that's what I did, just saying, I don't think it's so cut and dry what Hasbro's intent there was.
