This has been one one for the books. Last year in Michigan we were in the 40s-50s now it's 9 degrees and falling!
The roads are unplowed and we are kinda stuck in our own home.

Didn't get hit by an blizzard.

However, Fort Wayne where I happen to be located did get bitch-slapped by a nasty nasty ice-storm.

Still don't have any power when I left Fort Wayne this morning. Tree-limb fell onto our roof, luckily caused no damage, a bunch more tree-limbs fell around the yard, more kept falling.

It's been ridiculous.

Also here in Michigan. We've got a Winter Storm Warning from 5AM this morning...until 10AM tomorrow. 29 hours of cold. Beats a heatwave, at least. I'd rather be shivering than sweating any day.

But in a little while we're supposed to be in that Blizzard Warning. (Sadly, it has nothing to do with StarCraft) And while it has just dropped to 10, my parents also did a fair bit of shopping. Yeah, we have enough food for the next month, but bringing in the groceries was rough.

While I'm sure Vancouver isn't getting the worst of it compared to some of y'all, there is more snow on the ground now than there has been for at least 10 years.

Coming from the middle of BC I laugh at how little snow it takes to lock an entire metropolis.

Visit Britain, our winter is probably not that bad just wet but we complain about it a lot thus making it aweful.

Even in california its been getting down to 28 degrees...
It sucks, and thats in the bay area, the mountains are worse,. we had snow at 1500 feet

Just thought I'd drop in. A couple days ago it was -11 in Comox BC. Aparently it's the worst snowfall we've had for 30 years... and its not even 2 feet. :roll:

Well, I guess thats why I moved out of Edmonton...

Yeah, it's cold and snowy here. I was going to go move some snow away from the mailbox, because the scrapers didn't get within 3 feet of the curb. Poor woman has been getting stuck everywhere.

Yeah, clean snow is fun, but melty, dirty snow is just yuck!

But it does make for a beautiful looking Christmas.

Stay warm! Huddle next to your laptop, which at times can give off more heat than a space heater...okay not really.

No, but i live in Arizona, the land where 110º is nice, and 50º is unbearable.

50 degrees in unbearable? Are you a woolly mammoth or something? Try living in Michigan for the winter; just the other night, it hit 9 degrees (It's currently in the mid-20s), and with wind-chill, it was easily below 0. And we had to bring in a lot of groceries. Never mind the fact that between the building I live in and the building next to us (And the easiest door to bring groceries into) is essentially a wind tunnel.

I used to live in Idaho, but moved to the desert. the low temperature today is 65º, and that's cold when your used to high 90s. I have to admit, it's kind of nice being able to work on your tan in the middle of winter.

We actually wanted some snow here, but all we got was ice and sleet. No white Christmas here....It's more like ice-shiny!

At least the sheen on everything reflects the glow of Christmas lights nicely!

I think that this thread should become a rant about how bad people drive when driving conditions are poor... proving that very few people are really any good at driving.

I have seen more cars off the road this winter than ever in the past.

One week ago, the temperature was around 0 degrees...today, I'm comfortable outside in shorts and a T-Shirt.

Which raises the question: If the groundhog seeing it's shadow causes six more weeks of winter, what did he see for there to be six less weeks of winter?

i can think of one good thing
