Could it be possible we may see a follow up after the movie. The way armada ended and energon began. Heck maybe then we will see all the toys it looks like we are going to miss out on(Im looking at you arcee).

I never got into the Unicron Trilogy's shows and I really loved Animated. It's a real shame it's going because it was the best TF show in a long, long time.

I am seriously gutted! I thought Animated was great and I consider myself to be a hardcore Transfan.

The third series was a little weaker than the second considering the introduction of so many G1 characters and we eagerly await a massive all out Decepticon, Autobot mash up which didn't really come until the last 2 episodes, but that said it was the best Transformers platform since G1 series 2. (Bone of contention).

The toys were the most faithful to their cartoon counterparts, if a little flimsy in some cases and again it is such a shame we didn't see Omega, Arcee, Constructicons, etc.

It would be great to see a new Transformers platform that offered some continuity to the Transformers universe or maybe someone will be bold and do a G1 revisit, but this time round not do a load of crap stories and crap animation. Keep doing the Classic Universe toys! They are great!

Thats ok, we'll get to still see season after season without end of idiocy like Pokemon, though. Garbage sells.
I had an unlikely but nice fantasy that Cartoon Network would pick up the tab for another season like they did with Big O a few years back. I mean, why not? Most of what they show on Adult Swim is the equivalent of someone spitting a hocker on an animation cell, then video taping it running down the cell to the accompaniment of inane, non-sensical dialogue. That or a bunch of live action mental cases jumping around after raiding the clothing department at a San Fransisco Salvation Army. Isn't it about time CN did something worthwhile again?
And what's more, I coulda lived with this a lot better if we had gotten the sheer volume of toys that say, Cybertron or Energon had gotten prior to cancellation so we coulda at least said that it was a good run while it lasted. But instead we're left with a tiny collection of TFA figures and big pile of what coulda been. :-x

Wow...couldn't have put it better my friend. I will miss TFA personally. I own every toy and every episode. ( Except season 3 but, I will once it hits DVD.)

Well this sucks!

While not not really a shocker, given the fact that hasbro/CN never really promoted this show and or line. All their effort has gone into pushing the Bay/Movie line and ROTF. Right from the start you knew there wasnt much effort beyond that of just having this as a filler show/line between the first Bay movie and the second one, hell they didnt even get the toys out in time for the series launch. But here we have the crap movie toys already flooding the shelf's with their jagged-y lameness a near month before the film even comes out. Nope no problem there. And since there was never any real push to make animated a hit its no wonder then that kids didnt really latch on to it.

The sad thing is that the design team and writers involved with the show seems to have really put their hearts into it and it shows with the quality of the writing and character development. Too bad hasbro was content from day one to just have this be nothing more than filler while they pray at the altar of Bay/big Hollywood.

Hopefully what ever the next series is will be on par with what TFA has laid down. But if its just a cartoon version of the movie universe then...DO NOT WANT!

Did you actually watch the show, or were you on of the many who decided to hate it based on it's look?

I watched every single damn episode and I do not appreciate you assuming i'm some narrow minded idiot who forms an opinion in five mins.

I never liked the animation style, I never liked the look of the toys, yes, some of the stories were good but it was far too immature for my liking, and this is an opinion formed on watching every single episode so yes, my opinion is quite valid thank you.

What I find funny about your post is that up until you posted, no one had actually said anything about G1. Yours was a completely un-necessary outburst.

So let me say this to all. Here's a reality check, not everyone liked Animated. Some people will be happy it's officially over, others won't. Both sides need to respect each others opinions.

This is sad news.

When Animated first aired, I didn't like it at all. The animation style was too Looney Tunes. The storylines weren't much better. I wound up fast-forwarding thru the episodes until a fight scene appeared.

I continued the same viewing style for Season 2, thinking it was more of the same as Season 1.

But with Season 3, I watched the episodes in their entirety. I don't know when the shift in quality of the storylines occurred, but I thought Season 3 was quality stuff. Much more mature, but you wouldn't know it if you couldn't get past the surface (read: animation style). I also liked how they were able to blend in characters & plot points from so many different TF continuities.

I thought Animated (at least the 3rd season) was one of the best TF series ever. Other than the original TF movie, which I still love, G1 was great...when I was a kid. But watching it again now as an adult I wondered how I could've ever had such bad taste. Beast Wars was great. I even liked Beast Machines. R.I.D. & the Unicron Trilogy were AWFUL. I've started watching Headmasters, Masterforce, & Victory. I don't see what the big deal is about them.

So, they left Prowl dead :-x , Soundwave, Lockdown, and Swindle on the loose, and never said what happened to Ultra Magnus. Hopefully this was a hook onto TF's show that is followed by a more grown up show :? .

I was merely expressing my feelings in the manner that Dead Metal did. Would you have found it as equally inappropriate if I had simply typed "Excellent" instead of using a picture? In fact, you seem to be saying my entire post was inappropriate. Why? I simply gave my opinion on the subject.

Do I NEED to say something about G1? It always go back to G1 anyway. Me or someone else...what does it change?

You began by saying you'd probably get banned for what you were about to say, then proceeded to tell people to shut up about something that hadn't even been said.

Yeah, it may always go back to G1, and the "generation war" will always be on, but the fact remains, you told people to "SHUT UP". Go read the rules, you were out of line and you KNEW you could have worded things better hence your comment about probably getting banned over what you were about to say.

Now let's get this back onto topic and try to keep it civil and respectful of everyone's varying opinions on the matter.

So will there be more episodes or did the Hasbro panel forget the final episodes aired a couple of weeks ago?

Just to add...

G1 Versus Animated, BW, Energon....

Can't we all just admit we are fans of the same thing. All those shows had Optimus, Megatron, Starscream... etc. Come on! Same stories, different animation.

Then again... Victory was better then all of them... *cough* *cough* 8)

Yeah... the ever-increasingly-inaccurately-named Cartoon Network utterly failed to do anything resembling decent promotion of the series. They're more interested in the in-house stuff they're cramming down our throats in the evenings. But then, I haven't exactly been happy with CN in recent years, anyway.

I'm actually pretty sure that they will come out with a CGI series in an animated style, happening in the Movie-verse. I'm thinking of Godzilla - The Series, both in style and in content.

I don't have any real info, but if i know executives, they will try to exploit the movie transformers all they can.

After the first transformers movie, they came out with Animated. It was a pretty odd move, instead of focusing in the movie, they came with a different thing. As far as i understand , they didn't expect the movie to make it big. The proof if that there weren't actually enough toys after the movie ! It was a real drought. It was hard to get them.

The movie made over 700 million dollars over the world. And that isn't even considering merchandising! Compare this to Animated, which made some small earnings (and will continue to do so in sindication), but it's a lot smaller than the movie results.

The logical step is to focus heavily in one brand. That's from a financial point of view. From a crative point of of view, YES, there's a lot to be explored in the time between movies. Star Wars has proven that there's still a lot of merchandising to do between movies, and the Clone Wars series has also proven that there's still a lot of creativity left to the writers to develop the universe.

I know that the movie-verse isn't everyone's favourite, but if it is cleverly written, they could tie in with G1 as animated did.

I won't have my Animated Omega Supreme, but i put my hopes in my Movie Omega Supreme.

Animated didn't tie in with G1.

And the movies likely won't either.

That's enough of that thank you. Burn has stated quite plainly his reasons for not liking TF:Animated. Such a comeback lacks respect to his oppinion.

Everyone has their own oppinion on Animated. Yes it was aimed at a demographic that the vast majority aren't in anymore, i.e. boys aged 5-10. The fact that many of this site's members enjoy it too is an added bonus for Hasbro and Cartoon Network. That said there are those that don't like it and they have their reasons. Some are well thought through ike Burn`s, and others aren`t. That doesn`t make them any less valid.

If you can`t stand differing oppinions, don`t bait or harass them.

Wasn't tryin' to flame, sorry if it sounded that way. I've actually have had this discussion quite often with others, and you'd be surprised how often I heard "I never watched an episode, but I hate it because of the look". Not knockin' your opinion in the least, because you actual watched unlike so many others.

Ahh so we finally have confirmation, as sad as it is. Unfortunate though, as apparently ratings for season 3 opener were really good, but not unexpected.

Animated is one of my favourite TF universes, the stories and character development were great and the homages to G1 were such a nice nod to the fans - I think we may take for granted how fortunate we were to have a huge Transformers fan on the creative team, in the form of Derrick Wyatt. It also had some brilliant voice acting/directing by both the regular cast and special guests.

They took a big risk on the art style, which I must admit not liking when I saw the first images, but it grew on me very quickly, especially as they pulled it off in the toyline. And a great toyline it is too. Each mold has so much character put into it, which makes my animated shelves probably the most interesting to look at in my collection.

A big thanks to everyone involved in TFA. Hopefully it can continue to tell some stories in some format, as I think it had a good 2-3 more seasons of stories in it, and I hope it raises the standards for future TF shows.

Yes, it is a shame that the series has been cancelled, but better to go out on the top of its game than to drag on into mulch.

I personally am happy that i was able to find the eps online (no TV coverage here the UK), and also that some of the previewed toys (Arcee, Rodimus, Wingblade Prime) are going to be released (confirmed at the Hasbro Q&A at Botcon).

It did jump the shark. Twice, actually, in he to season finales.

It went from fighting over the AllSpark with Megs as a background villain, to searching for fragments and dealing with the construction of a space bridge, to having Sari part robot and having her and several other characters play more minor roles.

In a way, each of the three sasons were quite different from each other.
