You've got to be kidding.

Transformer fans complain about everything.

I've said it before, but Transformer fans would complain about a car that runs off of water because the car didn't have enough articulation.

(not saying you specifically Leo, just the fandom in general)

Im pretty certain ALL internet based fanbases are in the same boat. Thanks to having such a large and diverse interest base, which grows ever bigger thanks to having had 2 companies working on it for well over 20 years, we have an aweful lot left ot complain about. :P

I can't really remember complaining about anything TF-related, apart from the availability of Tit. Rodimus Prime and Downshift over in the ODB thread.

If I don't like a figure, I don't buy it. Simple as that.

Don't feel bad, I have chicks complain about my availability all the time. 8)

Topic wise, I think Dirge looks great, even if it is just a standard re-paint. Oh well, I hope they got one step further for Thrust.

This just made passing on the whole BotCon set that much easier. Dirge was my favorite of all the G1 Seekers for his unique wing design, but this is just a repaint of RamJet. New wings for Dirge and Thrust would have made this set worthwhile, but without that, no thanks.

I wouldn't mind having the Cracker, but considering how outlandish the price for this set is I can either bash him from Starscream or settle for the Robotmasters version.

Thrust likely will have new wings.

The small difference in Dirge's wings are certainly not a deal breaker.

Exactly, I don't see how Dirge's wings are unique since they are basically the same as Ramjet's (other than the extra fins added before the wings).

Is there an example of a Botcon figure that had a major re-mold like Thrust's wings would be? I'm thinking more than just a head.

botcon ratchet. His head, and a totally new weapon for him.

As for others, none come to mind at the moment, but sentinel maximus (?) from otfcc 2004 had a new head, which required a slight remold to the minicon itself in order to contain the head, as well as remold the minicon's head.

I can't think of much else off the top of my head that is drastically different.

wasn't there something about botcon cyclonus's hands that were different?

I couldn't see much difference between Cyclonus and Jetstorm. I see what you are talking about Botcon Ratchet and Ironhide. Still, the remolding it took for 2 heads and the one weapon may not be the same as remolding the wings for Thrust. I could be wrong, but I just don't see the molding being done for Thrust's wings. I'm betting on a paint scheme, and that's it.

I can't wait to find out, though. :D

forgive my ignorance if i am incorrect, but wouldnt a new head mold be far more complicated than remolding thrusts wings. If that is correct than wouldnt remolding the wings actually be more cost conservative than prior exclusives with new head molds? If i'm incorrect and a head mold is cheaper despite its complexity( or if im on crack and new head molds actually arent complex) than it completely nullifies my arguement :-?

Not a bad point. A head mold would only require sculptimg a new head and creating the cast. Remolding wings for Thrust would require extensive tool work to the existing molds. They would probably just create a new mold for the wings, but now there are two wings to do with a mirror image for each. The turbofan design complicates things a bit further. Modern c&c machines are amazing and it may not take that much to create the new mold, but extensive computer CAD drawing would be needed. And then there's the fact that the tool to create Starscream/Skywarp/Thundercracker is probably a family tool, which means it molds all the parts in the toy in one shot; or at least all those of the same plastic color. Same thing for Ramjet/Dirge. The fact that they could have altered Dirge's wings much like Thrusts (with even less work, imo) makes me think that Thrust will just be a repaint also.

But, like I said, I could very well be wrong. If I am I'll be the first one to own up to it.

I really don't think so. If it is, I'd be ok with that.

However, remolding Thrust's wings should not be a big deal. It looks like we will find out in about a week or two.

Fingers crossed. ;-)
