As the topic states, let's have your ideas for which Classics and/or Armada/Energon/Cybertron toys translate to approximate G1 Pretender characters.
I'm willing to consider both appearance in and out of the shell.
Thanks d00ds.

RotF Voyager Bludgeon is a no-brainer, he was designed to fit in with Classics. As for the rest... Very tough call. Maybe Classics 2-pack Springer as Crossblades (shell)...

One that I do have figured out is that Universe Frostbite works as Carnivac.

Any old thing will do.

In that case, here's my two cents.
Energon Skyblast looks a lot like Cloudburst (and would look even more like him with some extra red paint).
Similarly ROTF Vortex would be a good Sky High.
Energon Mirage or Legends Energon Megatron for Groundbreaker.
2007 Movie Hardtop for Landmine (he's a bit too stocky though).
Energon Treadshot as Gunrunner with Armada Powerlink Red Alert as his shell.
I guess Cyberton Thundercracker works as Metalhawk but he could do with some serious repainting.

Here's a really easy one(though it's kind of a retcon):
Behold Finback(as seen in Stormbringer):

Then behold Energon Sharkticon:

The color scheme is just a fraction away from being perfect, the alt. mode makes sense, and the head sculpt is almost exactly the right shape.

Nice, that's really on point.

If you're looking to repaint/customize figures, there are several nice Metalhawks over on TFW2005's Radicons board. Most use Cyclonus as a base and the C Thundercracker head looks spot on. Though you never seemed the custom figure type, CP.

Re: Brain-Trust Assemble: I need Pretender stand-ins for Classics
since we're talking Pretenders, have you considered looking outside the Transformers toy lines for some of the Outer Shell stand-ins?
I can't imagine it'd be too difficult to find something resembling Stranglehold or if you do get involved in a bit of customisation he'd probably be quite an easy one to do. For some of the others, I think McFarlane toys might be a good place to start, can't think of any specifics, and they might end up being less posable than their G1 counterparts. Marvel Legends could be useful too. Not sure about the animals. Honestly, I usually prefer robotic animals than realistically styled ones. I don't know much about them bar the basic premise, but I do remember seeing a Zoid that looked quite like a Cybertron mode version of Carnivac.

assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.
