So which one is the better choice in your opinion??

I personally bought the G3 trailer, however I have seen images online on the Best Toys trailer and it's neat little functions..

So i know we have had a lot of focus on the G3 Trailer lately with it's recent release.. but after having Bought the G3 trailer, I keep wondering how cool would the platform of the BTS version would look as a mobile base for some Henkei/Transformers..

How the Black Version would look really good with the Nemesis Prime in Fan's Project armor, and some Decepticons hanging around conspiring..

So, I think G3 Will win out, but those who own the BTS trailer... How is it? does it look cool with your figures posed on it? it has a decidedly different feel to it then the FP trailer.. like an actual outpost or something.. like out in the desert prime drops off this trailer as an outpost for some of the autobots, and then swings back and picks up his G3 trailer to set up as a command base in another part of the desert, and then goes and hooks up with his Powered commander armor for his big showdown with the decepticons..

I mean I would actually consider buying both the G3 trailer and the BTS01 and BTS01B!!

maybe that makes me nuts??

there is just something cool about this BTS trailer....Now that I own the G3..

Some say the BTS trailer is more in line with the design aesthetic of the Classics line but seriously, have you ever seen a trailer in real life? The Classics aesthetic are realistic modern alt-modes, save for the Cone-heads and Grimlock, so if you want a trailer that looks like a real life trailer than go for the G3 trailer.

The funny thing is the BTS trailer seems to share a few aspects with FansProject's original G3 trailer concept they released with early City Commander designs.
I have to say I prefer the G3 trailer but the BTS one also had a few cool things to it, maybe if it where cheaper and I had a Nemesis Prime I would consider it.

I do see what you are talking about, maybe that is what draws me to the BTS design.. the similarity it is in aesthetics to the "Classics Transformers" look..

One day I shall try to get my hands on the nemesis Prime, the Armor, and the BTS01B trailer.. that is a goal, but I have to stabilize my business situation first.. which if done correctly could yield more money for me pockets!!

I have both, well, I have the G3 trailer and the BTS version in Nemesis form.

I like the BTS one. It's a different beast than the G3 trailer. The quality of the two is similar, but there is a lot more to the G3 version. The extra $20+ really makes a difference.

That being saide, the BTS trailer is really quite nice. It looks great in trailer mode and the base mode is well doen with detail, a cool roller, and an interesting conversion. It's got some weird points to it and in reality it feels very, very much like a Hasbro trailer product (where the G3 trailer is like a collector's item).

My only gripe is that for how bit the trailer is, the base mode isn't quite as expansive.

I know I'm crowding it here with my Classics Stunitcons and their Minicons, but it does get a bit lost in the group.

thanks for sharing! I like that Black nemesis Trailer version too, it looks good..

you are right, I have seen the figures next to it in base mode and at best it looks very small..

that is why i kept thinking it'd make a good "outpost" spot for a Decepticon communications team to spy on the Autobots, or a Decepticon mini base for sneak attacks or quick set up for attacks..

but as a full fledged big base.. nah..

I could see somehow getting a throne done up for Classics Megatron and center him in front of the weapons storage in the center of the trailer base, and starscream operating the energon feeder crane behind Megs to feed him Energon cubes (grapes for the ruler)


but if I bought the BTS trailer, I would display my Hound and some other autobots on it as if they were awaiting orders from Prime to strike in another location of let cliff jumper loose off his chain..

the upper deck control type platform which looks like a minicon helicopter landing pad is pretty cool..this could almost be a sweet trailer for Armada Bendy prime..

CP, have you ever tried to see if it fit his hitch??

if you are able, I'd love to see a pic with the BTS trailer hitched to the Armada Bendy Prime..

I agree with most of the things CP says.

I'll add that the feeling I got when I opened my G3 trailer was that I had gotten my money's worth. The BTS version is nice, but it was more like 35 dollars nice and not 50. If it were me, I'd get the G3 and bide my time until someone drops the price on the BTS verison. Both look great displayed though...

Wow, looks like you got the DIA version of the powered commander armor there! nice!!

My set up will look slightly different since I will be adding the TFCON version..

but that Nemesis BTS looks great with that Nemesis prime...I think it should be about 35 too, only since it is 3rd party, their manufacturing costs aren't supplemented by other toy lines..

is it me or is the BTS trailer set back on the end of the truck way too much?? The G3 looks about right or am I wrong??

I think my set up will be similar with using the G3 trailer with the D.I.A. Powered Commander hitched on for Classics/Henkei OP/Convoy and the BTS black trailer for Nemesis Prime. Classics UM will stick with the City Commander trailer.

I've not seen any pics showing the underside of the BTS trailer and how the deck is supported..
also, I wonder if the mini spike figure could fit in the basket next to the robot arm??

If FP does a Nemesis Prime version of the trailer, your suggestion would be great because people would feel like they're not just buying a repaint. It'll be a repaint and a retooling. NP's trailer should be all about firepower. No maintenence bay set up. Just guns, explosives, and guns that explode. Bay would be proud.

that would rock!! I could see them only doing a retool of the G3 trailer as apposed to a completely newer trailer that would, I don't know... turn into a super huge gun turret for the FP nemesis armor or some thing like that..

I'm very tempted to get both the G3 and the BTS trailer for Prime and have him pull the G3 trailer, then use the G3 trailer's fold-out flippy thing to pull the BTS Trailer.

Don't know if I'll do it yet, BBTS does have a sale going on at the moment on the BTS though...

Sure. If you look carefully at my picture of it, you'll see a Mini-Con manning the robot arm.

I respectfully disagree. In my opinion Classics prime looks more like a slightly futuristic semi as opposed to a realistic one. And in fitting with the futuristic look, I think the BTS trailer is a perfect fit. But yeah, if you're going for realism the G3 is definitely better.

As an owner of the BTS trailer, I can say does look very cool in both modes. Very, very cool. The trailer mode is superb, and the base mode, while slightly small, has great features like the weapon storage and mini helicopter landing-pad. The roller is also cool in that it doubles as the trailer wheels, and its wheels extend as such.

However, there are some flaws. The base floor has no support underneath when openened, it rests only on its joints and ramps. With slightly heavy deluxe figures standing on it, you get a sloping floor. Tsk tsk.

Most detrimentally the build quality is slightly lacking. Some of the joints are a little loose (aforementioned extending wheels), and the trailer drone arm is very unfortunately quite loose. It's a flaw that takes away from what could've been a great trailer - it's only a good trailer. While I don't own the G3 trailer, I'm confident the build quality will be better than the BTS.

Another flaw seems to be with the design. The way the drone arm folds up in trailer mode makes it a little tough to fit in. If they'd engineered the tower with perhaps another joint, or a joint that moves further by just a bit, that could've been avoided.

I know this sounds like a bad review, but it's not, I do love the BTS trailer. It looks really great, and has a few cool little gimmicks. Not as many as the G3, but you get what you pay for, right? And I think the BTS is worth the price. If you really want a trailer and aren't quite happy with the G3 or can't justify the price, the BTS is a worthy addition to your collection.

For the record, the reason I didn't buy the G3 is because I don't think it looks as good in trailer mode. But all the gimmicks are really, really tempting...

Thanks for the topic skywarp-2. I was wanting comparisons myself as I was going to get the BTS Trailer as it was so much cheaper and it looked cool to me anyway.

That G3 trailer does look good, but I dunno if the cost is inine for me. BBTS got the BTS Trailer for 45 bucks, thats cheaper than what they were selling it for at Botcon.

Oh no...not at all.

I think you just saw it wrong the first time.

Scourge is in front, in darker blue. The three behind him are Sweeps 2, 6, & 7 in lighter blue with yellow accents. All from BotCon 2009.
