California Transformers sightings
Re: California Sightings.
Managed to confirm that kmart DOES have a lockout in their registers to keep unreleased ROTF toys from being sold.
Still no sign of the "preview" wave anywhere in the Bay Area that I could find.

Re: California Sightings.
I checked again today at the Foster City TRU and Target and no new ROTF stuff there yet either, well the TRU had a bunch of ROTF BumbleBee costumes and mask and 1 or 2 Optimus constumes/mask.
I just thought about that today as well and.... why are they selling costumes for ROTF for kids in the middle of May?
So it seems that no one in California has spotted any preview figs yet?
If there are any charismatic people here who live near Fremont, maybe you can ask if they have the preview figs at the Walmart on Warm Springs Blvd off of 680. I know for a fact they have other ROTF figs that aren't on the floor yet but the last time Ive went the managers were either busy/acting busy or the floor person didn't have much info (or legally can't give me any info?).

Info from some buddies on other boards indicate that ROTF leaders and deluxe have been spotted at Targets and Fry's in the Bay Area.

Definitely at Fry's. I snagged 5 ROTF figs and am going back for the two others I didn't get [found out I had more money]. This is what they had left at the
Fry's in Fremont off of 680 at the Duram exit [(Automall) exit]
Leader Class
x1 Prime
x3 Megatron
Deluxe Class
x5+ Bumblebee
x5+ Sideswipe
x3-5 Rampage
x3-5 Sideways
x10+ Breakaway
In less than an hour I can guarantee you there will have 1 less Megatron and 1 less Breakaway

Oh suh-weet! No register lockout then, I'm assuming. That Fry's seems to just not give one tenth of one damn about that sorta thing.

That's what I was thinking and why I went over there to give it a shot =P
and an update, I did go back and get the Leader Megatron and a deluxe Breakaway BUT I think I was wrong about how many Rampages. I didn't see any this time though there are ROTF figs on another shelf in another isle, I didn't rummage through it, so there might not be any more Rampages but my above posting of the other nums are pretty accurate.

I'll be heading there in a little bit... I'll try to get an accurate count. Now I just gotta figure out how much I can afford to spend! (Botcon is right around the corner!)
Anyone know how much a person can usually expect to spend on the "extra" souvenir figures they have there?

Re: California Sightings.
I checked the Sacramento Fry's (Northgate) yesterday and didn't see anything. I am going to check the Roseville store this weekend.
From what I understand at Fry's if they scan the actual barcode on the box it won't ring up but all they have to do is manually key the product code thats on their little price sticker they attach to everything on it and it will ring up with no problem. Apparently they aren't getting any kind of street date message when they ring them up. Which action figures are such a tiny part of what they sell I doubt they fear any repurcussions of jumping the street date.

I wasn't going to buy them for the same reason but then I thought; Im going to buy them anyways, and if I buy them here I don't have to worry about not opening them because of the "first buy" sticker, and it will leave me more room in my "cart" while Im at botcon and less to haul back in the car. The Leader class toys were $5 more though, I think the deluxes were standard price.
I was expecting to come with $300 for the extra exclusive figs and $300 for all the movie line stuff. I got 5 deluxes and 2 leader class figs so far so that's about -$150 off what I need to spend at Botcon on the movie figs =P [not to mention the room they take up]
And for the people who are looking at the Fry's in Fremont, the ROTF toys are on an end display on the same path that you come in on through the front door. Look for the end display on the left towards the end of the store. The other area is 1 or 2 isles before the end display, on the left, near the start of the isle.

Re: California Sightings.
Just got back from the Fry's in Fremont, and they have the following left:
6x Deluxe Bumblebee
2x Sideways
2x Breakaway
1x Leader Megatron
I only saw them on the endcap, it looks like they other spot is empty now, or they consolidated.

Re: California Sightings.
Went to check the Roseville Fry earlier - nada
Did stop at a 7-11 and they had the new slurpee cups, but no straws, and the Tranformers Passion fruit flavor. I also saw a cup that I didn't previously hear about. Its a small 12oz cup with the pyramids in the background and removable stickers of Optimus, Starscream, Megatron and Bumblebee.

Walgreens in Fremont off of 680/880 has Legends and Deluxes from ROTF
They were closing so I scrambled but they have a couple left of Ransack, Dead End, and a few Rollbars.

Most of the legends class I've found in a Walgreens in Yuba City, four of those cost around 30$ but I'm impatient

They have Megs @ Frys in San Jose. The ones off of Lawrence and also the one of Hamilton. A couple BumbleB's also. On a side note does anyone have any good ways to get the price sticker off the cardboard? Fry's uses God's first sticky price tag and it rips and tears just looking at it.

I've heard dabbing it with a warm damp washcloth loosens it a bit then you can try some Goo-gone to get the leftover residue off

Thanks for the reply. Im not sure that will work to good in my case. They put the sticker on the card part of the box. I think im just stuck with it. It will be cool thirty years from now when I pull them out of the box in the attic and see that they went from selling at $12.99 to $15.99 collectors increase.

No luck in the Linda Wal-Mart (I think Yuba-Sutter areas/county)
I bhave interesting news as our Wal-Mart actually has the new layout plan that even after asking a worker in toys they are putting them out for sale at 12 AM on the 30th. I'm assuming tehy will do this with other Wal-Marts and it might debunk that 5 PM claim on the 29th.

The 5pm on the 29th is not a rumor, there are actual signs (and pics of these signs) seen by many collectors. It just varies from store to store

Saw ROTF Robot Heroes, ROTF laptops and ROTF walkie talkies at Target Madison (Sacramento) today. Picked up the last Universe Inferno on clearance. On my way back to work I stopped for a slurpee and got a Ravage slurpee cup. They also had some ROTF straws.
Edit - Stopped for another slurpee on the way home (its freakin hot here) and found a new slurpee cup (also got the regular Prime cup)

Tom's Toys, a small store in Montrose ((818) 249-2178
2281 Honolulu Ave Montrose, CA 91020 ) has ALL of the RotF figures, At least one of each. Since it's a smaller store everything's about five bucks more than normal. I picked up a Prime, left the rest.

I found the new scouts, the box reads wave 2 and not to display before may 30. Well the box was just laying out there about 40 min ago, anyone interested should head over to Target on Osbourne and Laurel Canyon in Pacoima! I passed not collecting scouts. Only some deluxe
