If Sunstorm is any indication of the rest of the IF stuff, then it's all fantastic. Ideally, I'd like to get IF versions of my 3 favorite
s and
s, but that would require them to release a Jazz and a T-Rex Grimlock first.

Moonracer is actually pretty cool! I was bothered by her backpack and leg kibble at first, but she's a lot better in hand then she looks. The backpack is pretty light, so it doesn't weigh her down too much, and the leg kibble isn't horrible. Plus, she even has ankle tilts (albeit minor), which I somehow missed in all of the reviews that I watched of her. The limb modes aren't that good, but I'll be displaying her in robot mode, so that doesn't bother me that much. Her vehicle mode is nice, and her head sculpt is absolutely adorable! Overall, I give her a 8/10.

Today is my birthday, and in accordance with this, I have received some presents! In particular, I got 3 things today:
PC-17 Core Magnus is the first, and also the best. All the modes look great, he's got articulation for days, and the plastic quality is really good. Heck, I'd consider this a worthy purchase even if I didn't have CW Magnus. 10/10, easily.
Zelda is the second Nendoroid that I've gotten (Overwatch Mei being the first), and she certainly doesn't disappoint either. She's got tons of extra pieces and accessories, and looks really cute! I'd rate her 9/10.
Maximo is the first Prime Master that I've gotten, and he's certainly a cool little dude! He looks pretty good, and the Skullgrin (is that who it is?) armor is pretty neat. Only thing I don't like is that there's no way to attach him to a Voyager figure's chest. I give him 7/10.

Also, my family went to the store to get some food tonight, and I decided to look for some Transformers, and I ended up making what is possibly my first retail TF purchase of the entire year (don't quote me on that, though). Enter Studio Series Jazz!Jazz is pretty nice, but he's got one thing going against him. He's tiny. Seriously, he feels closer to a Legends class than he does to a deluxe. And while I don't necessarily mind that, it kinda sucks that he cost $20 whilst being so small. Nevertheless, he's a pretty good figure. 8/10, I'd say.
Also, one last shot of the entire birthday crew:

To keep up the streak of new Transformers, I have another new arrival today: Prime Wars Blast Off and Megatronus!Blast Off is a really good figure, and an excellent choice to represent CW in this series of Prime Wars exclusives. The paint work is great and the bot mode looks and feels awesome (which is good, since I don't actually plan on combining him with Bruticus), and the shuttle mode isn't bad. 9/10.
Megatronus is pretty cool. He may have less playability than the Liege Maximo, but he makes up for it by looking absolutely awesome, especially in spark mode. All of his joints are decently tight, so you can perch him on Blast Off's shoulder and he won't fall over. Only problem is that, due to the lack of Prime Armor or a Decoy suit, he can't interact with Blast Off in a way that looks aesthetically pleasing. 7/10.
Bonus picture: it is possible to put Megatronus in Blast Off's chest, but it doesn't look very good.

At long last, Inferno has arrived!
As an individual figure, Inferno isn't much different than Hot Spot. Although, all of his joints are tighter, and his paint work is quite a bit better. Vehicle mode looks pretty good as well. However, the place where he shines the most is in combined mode!
Firestormer is awesome, and is an improvement over Defensor. Like with Inferno's robot mode, most of the joints are a good deal tighter, and the paint work is really good. He's also more stable than Defensor (but then again, the Hot Spot mold was never very stable to begin with). Plus, you can recreate the Hammer of Justice if you have a few spare HFGs laying around. I would say that Inferno is my favorite POTP torso so far, and is deserving of an 8/10.

Capping off my recent string of purchases is a figure of my absolute favorite Transformer: Cyberverse Shockwave!
Cyberverse Shockwave is a great little figure. Unlike the rest of Cyberverse, he's got all of his essential articulation (minus the head). The alt mode isn't anything to write home about, but it's serviceable, and doesn't take away from the bot mode. If the rest of Cyberverse was as good as this guy, then it would actually be a good line. 8/10
Also, a group shot of all of my Shockwaves:

If I get one figure from Cyberverse, it will be him, and he will go perfectly with my Prime/RiD shelf, especially with the warrior RiD guys.

I have a special arrival today! Not only is this a pretty special figure in general, this is also the last Transformer I will get before my senior year of high school starts. Take a look at the Throne of the Primes!
Optimal Optimus (or Optimal Prime, as I prefer to call him) is an absolutely amazing figure. The Evolution gimmick is awesome, the colors are just gorgeous, and all of his joints are nice and tight. Literally the only thing that I don't like about him is the giant backpack on the smaller Primal, but I've heard that can be fixed by knocking out a pin in his back so you can display both the Primals at the same time (however, I'm not going to do it to this one since I don't want to potentially damage an expensive figure. Maybe I'll do it to the general release Primal...
). Easy 10/10.

Finally opened mine today as well! Still debating tossing the black piece so he can sit nicely, but the set is fantastic.
...I'm calling this version "Maximal Prime" and when I get the retail one, he will be "Optimal Optimus"

I've considered dropping the black piece as well, but then that would get rid of the throne's armrests.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:NICE!!!

Also, am I the only one that isn't treating this as an evil barbarian king version of Primal? I like to think that this was his original color scheme when he received the Matrix and destroyed Unicron, and after he became the leader of Cybertron, he changed his colors to blue, orange, and purple for whatever reason.

I'm still portraying this guy as a good Primal. The throne and crown are dedicated to the bearer of the matrix and the protector of the 13. He doesn't rule with an iron fist or anything; he simply upgraded to his "true prime" form and leads as a gentle, benevolent, and good King of the Beasts

I'm not a huge fan of the crown, so I like to imagine that he was offered a crown and a throne, but he refused them because he viewed himself as less of a ruler and more of a servant/protector of the people of Cybertron.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:I'm still portraying this guy as a good Primal. A few new arrivals (along with a special guest, Luke the Cat):
First up is POTP Optimal Optimus. The colors are different then the Throne version, but that's where the differences end. Mine is a tad bit looser than the Throne version, but still good nonetheless. 9/10
Next is TR Blitzwing. I picked him up at my local Ollie's for only $13, and he was well worth the reduced price. Unfortunately, he shares Primal's problem in that he's a bit looser than the other version of the mold (Megatron), but that doesn't make him any less good. 9/10.
Last but certainly not least is POTP Counterpunch. Due to Amazon delays, I had to wait an additional 2 weeks to get him in hand, but he is well worth the wait. All 3 modes are great, transformation isn't very finicky, and Prima looks rad (unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of him)! Probably the best POTP deluxe, and definitely a contender for my favorite POTP figure. 10/10

Since I haven't posted much for a while, I figured I would show off some of my recent acquisitions:
I got the Siege figures earlier in the month when finals were finishing up. Optimus is easily my favorite of the bunch, and is up there with Evasion Prime for the best Primes I have. Bumblebee and Snowball were Christmas gifts from my family, and Arcee was part of an I.O.U (my mom was having trouble finding all of the Transformers on my list, so she told me to just find them on eBay and she'd buy them for me). In addition to these ones, I also have Black Mamba's Ares Nitrogen (the upscaled Nitro Zeus) as the other I.O.U figure, and I traded my CoV Laser Prime and Prime Wheeljack to my cousin for his POTP Novastar and RTS Cyclonus. I should be able to get the other 3 later this month.
In the realm of video games, I got Spider-Man PS4, which I've been playing pretty much nonstop since Christmas, Luigi's Mansion 3DS, and A Link Between Worlds.

I'm definitely looking forward to Nitro. I already liked the Voyager, but there were a few issues (like the back kibble and no ankle tilts) with it that this version fixes. Sadly, it's coming from Hong Kong, so it'll take a while to get here.Nice pick ups, and that upscale Nitro Zeus is baller!! Blackout is noice. Just gotta be careful if any parts are too tight to move. May need to use an X-acto knife like I had to do for a couple of areas. Nothing's loose, just some excess plastic in some areas that caused things to pop off. But after fixing those he's really awesome. Looks stellar just standing there, and his chopper mode is YUGE.
