Agreed, if the world were as simple as "Afghanistan is evil, we are good" then yes, Unicron is a Decepticon. However, even if we toss aside the discussion of whether they are wrong or not, there's still the fact that not all Afghanis support Alquiwhooda... whatever, I'm not good with politics & such, major pacifist here. My point is 1: not all Decepticons are evil & 2: To them they are doing the right thing...

Okay, seriously.

The first time I saw Unicron was on The Transformers Movie; he was consuming a planet. A "World Eater" like Galactus, Unicron was considered a "god". Yes, taking away innocent lives just for his own needs does make him seem as if he is selfish, relentless and ultimately, cruel. However, cannibals live among our society, predators preyed upon harmless animals, it is all part of the circle of life. If the Autobots could not figure out a plan to feed the "World Eater" or at the least, negotiate with him, who's fault is it, really?

And let's face it, at the end of the day, if a Unicron toy has a Decepticon symbol slapped on it it's because of Hasbro's lazyness to use a unique faction symbol for him.

Unicron is not a Decepticon.

Unicron wants total destruction.
Decepticons want total conquest.

The only reason his "minions" are Decepticons are, as someone earlier stated, of a similar mindset. That being, having no trouble ending life to achieve their goals.

And I think you'll find that if it were that simple, he'd control all Decepticons. But he doesn't, because not all Decepticons are mindless sparkless murderers.

I think that about most people too, but still, it's an odd goal. Floating around in a compleatly empty universe? With nothing left to eat? Wheres that get fun?

What's the logic in building new Transformers if most of them die in the war anyway? What's the logic in the Matrix being passed down to Hot Rod when there's plenty of more suitable candidates? What's the logic in giving a human the power of the Creation Matrix?

There's plenty of things which show no logic in the TFU.

I think your reasoning is a bit flawed. Mainly because, the cons fight each other a lot. I mean, a lot. I don't think you should not see him a Decepitcon for that reason alone.

I think it was clear, when Unicron was randomly introduced in the movie that he wasn't on the side of the Decepticons, but rather he was an independent faction. Decepticons do not want, or has never wanted, Cybertron's destruction.

As for the "heralds" of Unicron, I see them as the conquerers of the Decepticons...until they revolt and destroy him.

But, no, I don't think it's right to say that was a Decepticon.

Yeah, I don't see Unicron ever HELPING the Autobots. Helping the Decepticons, yes, because it helps his own cause, and because they've got less morals than anyone else, but the Autobots, no. He wouldn't help them.

He's a bad guy, but he'd gladly eat both Autobots and Decepticons. Although I think some Decepticons end up seving him... Probably in hopes of power.
