Ah, who am I kidding? I argued for three or four pages over whether Tracks was a triple changer.
Canon- Your definition.

To quote Eg Chen from Big Trouble in Little China:
"Chinese religion like your salad bar. Take what you want and leave da rest."
Same should follow for canon. Sure it has a technical definition, but when it comes to being a fanboy, it becomes very relative. I love the comics, I love the old cartoon, but the two don't really meet. I like some of the figures from the Unicron series, but the cartoon was...not my favorite. I take what I like, I leave the rest.

Oh, totally. When it comes right down to it, I don't even care what's 'canon', just what's entertaining, and what feels right to me. For my personal preferences, the G1 cartoon is near the bottom of the list as far as 'accurate information' is concerned - I always go with toy bios first and foremost, followed by the comic stuff. I like the DW take on the bios, and now I generally consider them 'right' as far as characters are concerned, simply because they most agree with the way I've always seen them.
Other people take the cartoon as gospel - if it wasn't onscreen, it never happened. I may not agree, but it's their prerogative. Diff'rent strokes, and all that, innit?

A very good example would be Gundam. I like to think of it all in separate canons, but like Turn A Gundam, some people try to link it all.
Here's my version
G1 (cartoon) > BW > BM
G1 Japanese
G1 Marvel > G2 comic
G1 Dreamwave
G1 IDW
RiD
Armada > Energon > Cybertron
Movie
New Cartoon
Then I like to think of the Universe line as just a cheap way to creat a line of re-paints, and Hsbro threw in a story to make it worthwhile. It's fun, but I don't think of it as canon.
Surprisingly, Binaltech fits very well with G1 and BW, until it branches off on its own

Also, as for Sone of the Demon and Bride of the Demon, DC has gone on record saying that they had excluded those stories from their canon. I(t was only recently that they lifted that exclusion.
Uh, actually, he who's gone 37 years without sex, Holy refers to ANY religion. Tramp, is there a particular reason you always think you're right? Because notice how many peopel are telling you you're wrong in this topic. Anyone who isn't a total loser would realise they're wrong.

Yeah, that's about what I think about it, too. They're all just separate cannons, & a couple of other things are thrown in here & there just to have fun & say "what if?"....& that's it.Cyber-Kun wrote:A very good example would be Gundam. Yes it was... And i was going to run with it to the point of claiming his second Earth alt was that of a Train then and only then did he reawaken to get his big rig... but it's not that funny
I agree with Cyber-Kun's line of sepreate canons
Though I have my own blend of G1 too.
The TF Ultimate AxiomCanon Guide (patint pending) available for a meer $3.95 while supplies last!

Aw dam, I missed another TRAMP war

I love those! I wonder how gleefully high he jumped knowing that once again his Ultimate Guide gossple and homily could be used once again

Seriously though, I've delt with him before on topics that couldn't be related to The Ultimate Guide, and he's not a bad guy.
As for canon, MY BELIEF, is G1-Beast Era, the end.
RID, and The Unicron Trilogy are stories derived from the time tampering in Beast Wars.
Classics are new bodies, built for existing bots who where feeling alittle beat up.
The Movie guys are new beings all together created from the essence of the bots involved in Primus's awakening.
How to work in the upcoming Animated line is still something up in the air.
I can go more into detail, but for the shows and my toy collective, this is what works for me.

Nothing good comes from a Tramp war. either side stays at an impass, usually somewhere around the ultimate guide & MTMTE #8, & those stubborn enough to try to argue with him end up feeling like they died a little inside.Liege Evilmus wrote:Aw dam, I missed another TRAMP war![]()

Now that its over a feel great. Congrats gentlemen, it appears we have won  at least for now.
With all of this fighting going I just remembered that I really didnt get to put my spin on the whole TF realities in so here goes
G1 cartoon (minus rebirth, I throw it to the wayside) > BW (with marvel concepts added in, like Primus) then I also throw out BM considering it to be synonymous with something else BM stands for :-P
G1 Japanese
G1 Marvel comics > G2 comics
Armada > Energon (Cybertron is way too inconsistent with the other two for my taste)
RID
Dreamwave
Dreamwave sub continuities i.e. Armada/Energn book G.I. Joe
Devil's due
IDW
As far as Universe, Cyber-Kun's explanation takes the words right out of my mouth

So have I, but the guy has some issues. He just cant admit when he's made a mistake.......even when its got nothing to do with his Ultimate Guide he just cant [or wont] admit to an error. What kind of guy is afraid to admit a simple misake
