Where did you hear this ? Any sketches or renders ? I knew about Whirl, so Roadbuster makes perfect sense. I would still buy the FP version in different colors as a generic character if they want to juice the mode Virus style.

I saw the news earlier and thought about this. I think this definitely kills my interest in the FP version, unless the Has/Tak versions look horrible. Or if it's something stupid like a repaint that doesn't make sense.

(I also saw Hardhead in there. I don't think FP officially announced a Hardhead. Bet they don't now...)

Unless Hasbro's Hardhead is a Headmaster I think there's still interest. For all we know he's just a redeco of Roadbuster or vice versa.

FP may be too far along to stop. We'll see what we see. If Hasbro does a better job I'll buy Hasbro. Although it's controversial, I do like FP's take on RB.

If the past is any indication, FP's version (if it's in development), will do just fine.

I have a feeling that, more than likely, Hasbro's Hardhead is the repaint/head remold we speculated some time ago.

I want Hasbro to do this. I got an extra Warpath head I can paint green and turn him into Treds. Then I can put him with the other classics Gobots (Pathfinder, Bad Boy, and Bugbite) Im happy with my Hardbone, but will gladly buy a Fansproject version for a better scale.

Generations Warpath's instructions had a different/alternate head..

Though it pains me to do this (owning both Warbot and Tomy Springer)I kind of agree with Rated X in the sense that Springer was originally envisioned as a hunky bulky body builder type human analog like Arni and not a buff but slim down type guy in the animation. I don't think its the actual scale that bothers me but more on the proportion of body build.

Reminds me of the 1st henkei Grimlock version. They slim him down with knee high boot stilleto lol!

FP Warbot's sword looks out of place, I prefer the G1 Hasbro and TG version over it.

Both have their pros and cons I grant you that and we're talking about FP here.

I'm going with Has/Tak over this if it is a new mold and a good representation. Although I love most of FP's stuff Has/Tak version will win out for me.

I hope these images can be seen by others, let me know if you can't load'm.

I also agree. This beats the initial images, though I'm not sure what changed exactly.

But I'm also in wait and see mode because of the proposed Hastak version.

Plus I have a one of the fairly recent Mugen Caliburs (original design from which G1 Roadbuster was made) that just needs me to take the time for a repaint.

So I'm not sure where I am with this character.

Not me. Im all in when the pre-order comes up. I dont want to pay twice the price if the Hasbro version sucks. After how they butchered Springer, I wouldnt put it past Hasbro to make their Roadbuster skinny with chicken legs. And if Hasbro gets him right, I can always put one on my Wreckers shelf and the other on my G1 seasons 1-2 Autobot shelf.

Those pics took me from "eh........probably not" to "hmmm..........interesting. Let's see what HASBRO will do". But more than likely will pre-order this.

If horizontally thin means "fembot" legs then let's count Megatron in the same boat. Apart from which I seriously don't get your "burly guy" ideology for Springer, since I always saw him as what he was; a Han Solo analogue, who as I recall wasn't all that muscular.

That said, I'm going to join the new sentiment that this does look better now than it initially did, but if I can save some money on a half-decent looking Hasbro release then I will. Until we see for sure I'm keeping my options open and my wallet holstered.

This figure is looking pretty boss in these shots. It's growing on me more and more. Loving the versatility of the weapons. I think it's good enough to purchase on its own merits even if HasTak give us an official figure.

It's just a shame Defender is looking so dated these days.

Suddenly this is looking reasonably good, but apart from Motormaster and their headmasters I've lost interest in FP. Don't trust their QC atm.
