Yea... =/ I brought a new TFCC Scourge from BBTS for $100 bucks too... terrible.

Good thing my Black Prime collecting does not extend to 3Ps so I'm good not owning this.

Yeah, I was sure they'd make a version for Scourge too and was looking forward to that. If they do I'll buy it, but I don't want to make that figure redundant. It's a nice figure in it's own right.

Ya know... my only complaint is that if they were planning to go this route with a full on figure... they should have announced it around the time TFCC was pushing out their Scourge. That little bit of insight would have made the difference to Maketoys supporters like myself.

On the other hand, those who don't have the TFCC figure don't have to track down an extremely rare piece in order to make use of this...

I know some people consider this a borderline KO, but to be honest I don't think making an entirely new mold that uses similar engineering to an existing figure is the same thing as releasing a KO. They haven't actually stolen any molds or even used any pre-existing parts of the original- all the molding is entirely original, it just uses very similar engineering concepts.

Also, this looks utterly badass. I kinda want it.

I think the cape is removable, for those that don't like it. I for one love it but I can see why other people wouldn't want it.

I dunno. Big imposing tattered capes covered in chains are my mojo. I kinda wish DotM Megatron got a better toy with a proper fabric cape (that could of course be used as a tarp in vehicle mode). Regardless, I love this guy and if I see him for non-prohibitive prices I'll have him as my Nemesis Prime.

I like the pricing on this guy (was the same as when I ordered Battle Sentinel SG or Dagger Innerspace 2 years ago and didn't even get a core bot) and went ahead with the pre-order. Strange how shipping for this item is less than shipping for Ripper, another MakeToys web exclusive, but I'm glad that is was less.

With a new head, this sculpt could make a decent DotM style truck Megatron.

Not movie accurate, but just as a different design for Megs it would look pretty cool.

i stumbled upon an image...

ive mentioned in this thread, that i have hope of this scourge battle tanker being compatible with TFCC's scourge. seeing this, my hopes are higher. not sure if my hopes are high enough to buy him without proof of compatibility though.

I'm curious if you can back that up?

Because I would suspect they had to KO the RTS Laser Prime base before retooling it into their "original" molding - the nigh identical legs are evidence of this.

I mean, you don't look at the iGear MP Coneheads and say it's not a borderline KO because they retooled some parts. Just because the retool is more extensive here doesn't make it more legitimate somehow - just means they were more creative in the manner in which they decided to KO it.

Anyways...

It's cool looking, but I'm completely over the battle tanker concept; it's dated. It was neat at first, but even back then I found the execution of the powered-up arms/hands wanting, and the overall pose-ability to be so-so. Not really what I want or expect from an expensive 3rd Party figure.
