Could someone explain this to me please?

In the Dreamwave MTMTE guidebook volume 2, Powermaster Prime's engine/powermaster partner is called Ginrai, yet I've always known him as Hi-Q. Where did Dreamwave get the Ginrai name from? If Powermasters make an appearance in the IDW series, which name would be used?
