Chrome Mechabot repainted into Guardian.

Used metallic blue spray paint. The formerly chrome parts are still shining I'm surprised and delighted...

Yeah, I'd always thought metallic paint was prone to cracking or flaking, so really great job.

Only if applied improperly. I've got some model cars nearly 20 years old painted with metallic paint that hasn't chipped, flaked or peeled.

Check out the how-to sections on both Scale Auto and Fine Scale Modeler sites. I've learned a hell of a lot of techniques that easily apply to TF customizing. The forums are a gold mine too.

Scrutinized the big dude a while ago; no cracks or flakes so far....
While at it, also checked the other repaints where I used metallic spray:I think I might have even used the same can of silver spray on the Astrotrain on this picture; no cracks on him yet...Hmmm.... I might have also used the same can of metallic blue on this Energon Cliffjumper [which I did before Energon Beachcomber officially came out]...and this Ultra Magnus too....Also used metallic blue on this Galvatron's body:...and metallic silver on this Galvatron's face:No crackin'... No flakin'...
