Grimlock is the most complicated of the deluxe figures I've reviewed thus far, the large chunks of pannels often make the transformation fiddly as they crash into each other during the process. Grimlock cuts an imposing, stocky figure that's fitting for the King of the Dinobots. While I won't recommend Grimlock as a first purchase, it is worthy of a spot in your collection.

Thanks for the review, but does he have any articulation in Beast Mode? You kinda glossed over that.
(Also, I'm surprised you haven't picked up Ultimate Grimlock yet. What's putting you off?)

Whatever arm articulation from robot mode that's still functional in Dino mode, shoulders and the elbows. Not a lot really.

Shoulders and elbows of his robot mode arms, or his t-rex arms?

Robot mode. The T-Rex arms are molded into the neck collar and don't move.

It looked like they were, but I wanted to be sure before I said anything.
Now that you've confirmed, I think it's fair to say that whoever is responsible for this design seriously dropped the ball. There is absolutely no reason for his dino mode to be such a brick. Even the Ultra version has articulated dino arms and elbows that are actually useful as dino knees, and the Ultimate has friggin' TAIL articulation, so I'm really disappointed at how far this one falls short.
