City Commander re-release proof?

I was looking at the pictures for the add-on preorder, and due to the design of the launchers, it may be able to peg onto the rectangular-shaped tab which exists on the trailer part, with the circular peg facing outward, because of the lack of a hole for it to fit into. That's just speculation on my part, but hopefully it's correct and we can all display our City Commanders with missiles out in trailer mode. :)

Someone who owns a Powered Commander may be able to confirm if it's possible to attatch the launchers in that manner.

Hell yeah, just pre-orderd the CC add on. Those are good lookin launchers. I have the G1 launchers on there but I think these fit the kit better. Nice.

I actually posted to fansproject to ask them that very question. If I actually hear anything back I'll certainly post it here immediately. Also I'd like to thank Convotron for the assist on customizing. I bookmarked that website and will be going over it with a fine toothed comb to learn all I can!

Honestly I don't know what you guys are talking about, and maybe I am just daft and confused.. but here are the images of both the trailer from both sides.. and I can not see where the pegs would be for the missile attachments to go (at all, and since I never opened my TFCON, I have no idea how they go in the first place)..

Guys, the launchers on Powered Commander have small, tight "U" clips on them. These clips have the peg which plugs into the robot/vehicle. I'm sure that the upgrade parts will have a different "U" clip in order to attach to the original City Commander.

are you sure about that..

powered commander had these holes.. and I am not so sure the New add on sets will have anything to attach them to the trailer in trailer mode.. if you look at the original Trailer images above, it doesn't look as if CC will be able to hold the missiles..

Now I am worried that the newer version will have the new mold changes, and us CC owners will be out of the ability to display the missiles in truck mode, effectively.

It would be nice of Fan's Project to offer a trade in to all those owners who bought the original version,s o we can get the upgraded mold fixes..that would be mighty decent of them..

a sort of straight up trade, we pay for shipping they give us an exchange for the better release..stipulations that the original be complete with the box..and no KO's

I trust that this accessory won't suck, and I trust that the missiles will attach in vehicle mode. And if I'm wrong, well, I've definitely spent $12 on dumber things. Like ROTF Soundwave #-o

See that's the thing.. I love the classic colors but when I see something that is viewed as armor I just don't see it in those colors.I'n thinking out making it more metallic and worn. I 've tinkered with trying to make my own armor for this line but I could never get it all to fit into a trailer..Which leads me to another question.. How does the armor collapse into the trailer? I'm very curious..

wouldn't that be interesting, to see an Armor colored Armor made out of one of these trailer upgrades..

all silver might be boring.. you might consider a bit of Gold or liker 1 color to break up the monotony..just a suggestion..

I'd love to see what you come up with.. as for the trailer itself.. go to youtube.com, and check out the videos for City commander or Powered commander.. use the search tool, and all of the trailer transformation will be revealed..

It's cool. No worries.

The original CC does not have vehicle mounting holes for the launchers.

All I'm saying is that if FansProject is going to release the launchers seperately, they'll need to make them backwards compatible. The U-clips are the method for attachment, so they'll be what changes.

The U-clips are tight and almost seemless, so you can't tell they're there. Those will be the things that have to change IF the launchers are backwards compatible.

ahhh makes sense...I hope they do that, but if they do not, and If I have to, I'd buy the new release..new sculpted fixes are a good feature.. and the price ain't half bad..

I'm sure(I hope) FP will include something with the TFX-03 to enable original run CP owners to utilize the missile launchers in alt mode. They made CP so there's no excuse for going "Oops! We didn't know there aren't holes to peg into.".

Now if just the launchers and UM rifle/CC Cannon are in the accessory pack...can City Commander deal with it?

This is off-topic, but why the heck aren't we getting a CJ reissue upgrade kit if Fansproject is willing to reissue City Commander? Seriously. I want an affordable CJ kit that's not a KO, and I know I'm not the only one.

They stated that the Cliff upgarde mold was destroyed after it's run. The KO is actually really well done and suprisingly high quality for a KO. For the $30 or so it went for when I got it, I highly recommended it.

Yikes! I just checked for the Cliff set on eBay and the only one found is $90. Not worth that much.

I checked the galleries here On seibertron and it answered my question.. I had no idea the entire trailer was in fact the armor.. That's damn cool..I was almost gonna cancel the preorder but after seeing some video and the gallery it's a must have now..I can see why it was in such high demand..

As for the painting of it..I'm gonna have to wait to get it in hand before I know how it's gonna go..I agree on all silver being boring, I would defintly break it up a bit.. I would go for a more battle worn and used look.. Shades of siler with aluminum, some mithril silver and some washes.. Has anyone ever painted the armor before?

At one point City Commander was selling for $250 when paired with Ultra Magnus. That probably won't happen again for a few years.

But I'd reconsider my stance on KOs if I could get a KO Cliff set for under $50 and if it was of EXCEPTIONALLY high quality, but I've read on these forums that it's not. For the original, $350 sounds reasonable considering that it was produced in such low numbers.

I have an original release CC, and love it, and I pre-ordered the upgrade set, so I am hoping it fits well, as I don't feel comfortable altering it in any way. I could live without it being able to connect in trailer mode, cause mine is pretty much pemanatly in bot mode.

I'm hoping I can convince myself to paint once it gets here.. Thank god for the galleries here.. it's helping in the pre-production process. Is the re re-lease going to differ other than the added rocket launchers in anyway or is it to early to tell?
