It does indeed - although personally I'd recommend that you try swapping Slingshot and Skydive. Slingshot far better suits a slower jet, and Skydive specialises in high-performance aerobatics, so I reckon the Treadshot mould would fit him better.

Thanks for the suggestion Ramrider however to be honest I don't think that jet would look good in grey. I'm sure that an expert in aerial acrobatics would quikly come to understand the kinds of things that the A10 is capable of. I saw one at an air show when I was a kid and it pulled of some really amazing moves. In fact that is going to be the story behind these. Optimus is told of how Megatron is reviving his combiners so Optimus uses the matrix to bring back the Aerialbots (who we all know were destroyed in the nuclear explosion in the Transformers Generation one volume 1.) He takes their sparks to an air show to pick out new forms after the appropriate new forms are selected the sparks enhabit their new forms and Optimus uses the matrix to unlock their new forms transformation abilities. They then immediately combine into Superion to check out their returned combiner form.

Here is his new head which I finished just the yesterday.

That does look nice. I wasn't carring that much for the digipaint, but the actual paint job came out wonderfully. Love the new head too.

Any chance of rigging a set of actual hands on him as opposed to the sallad tongs he comes with.

I like it. But my favorite part has definatly got be the new head.

Any chance of doing something with the blue hands and feet parts? They just seem out of place to me.

I'm working on some ideas right now since this isn't the only E combiner redo I have planned. My main idea for new hands is to scratch build a set made from figure ties and styrene like the ones made by Jet Convoy for his Apex Armor Power Master Optimus Prime custom. Then putting them on the same way I put E Stormcloud's hand into the wing holes on my Cl Bruticus' Blastoff.

My other combiner plans are once I get my Cl Devastator I'll be taking the yellow loader from my E Devastator and removing the bucket for my Cl Bruticus' replacement Swindle. Not to meantion that I plan to rebuild an E Bruticus into a Cl Defensor, and a mixture of E Combiner parts into a Cl Menasor using more stunt options than just fast cars. My Menasor will consist of Barricade remade so that he'll have a box on his legs and repainted into Motormaster, E Terradive with wings removed and an F1 style 6 wheeled assembly added then repainted into Dragstrip, an E Treadshot repainted to look like Wildrider, the black Cl Dev. loader with bucket removed and done up like a monster truck for Deadend, and an E tank like Kickback rebuilt into a fast car like a Mustang or a Ferrari for Brakedown.

just my two cents on the matter.

it might look better design aethetics and bodyily proportions wise if the 2 A10 warthogs served as the limbs but with the back kibble being set up on a removeable and replaceable extra extra thick paperclip piece, theirby making it possible for the backpack kibble to be mounted on the aten warthog figures lower arms and in doing so give the upper arms additional bulk for the combiner form in addition to a set of fully functional duel jointed elbows woth the paper clip securing the bakc pack in place for vehicle and robot mode. just make sure you leave one end of the paperclip curving out past the hole to insure easy grip and removal of it

as for giving the warthogs a more realistic set of hands i figure you can find a good pair to work with from one of those alternator figures

as for modding alternator hands if you have the extra parts justs salvage a set of tech jet wings from one of those universe dollar genmeral superion maximus fighter jets sand the wing kibble of the sides of the tube which the energon bombs peg into and superglu it to the back of the alternator hands.

they peg right over the aten warthogs undercarraige gun.

i figure thats how tfmaster gave his energon liokaiser a set of hands when it comes to the mods he did to the warthogs to make guyhawk and hellbat

but those are just my thoughts

I had posted an alternate transformation for the A-10 thar made it look like he had elbows, and you can use the G1 hands to get him to look better, but I can't find the post, so here is the image of mine with hands.

To be honest the reason why I put the A10s as legs it was because I had tryed them as arms and the stealth styled jets as legs but the A10s look better as legs due to the feet they come with actually looking like feet. And the fact that they actually look like lower legs ie. the turbinesto the bottom of the wings look like my calf muscles. and the way the nose cones split and point outward towards the front and back looks like feet. As far as giving the A10s Alternator hands I'm guessing you mean in combiner mode right? Because they would be way too big for them in their individual mode due to the A10s being scout class. To be honest I think Alt hands might be too small for the combiner mode but I think I might try them thanks for the inspiration. I do happen to have a couple of extra Alts in my parts box.

That does look good but it still leaves him without actual feet. Thanks for the inspiration I think I'll try it that way. Then I'll just need to design him a set of proper feet. I wonder if Alt hands woulf fit in those pegs too. If not I think I can mod them.

The real beauty of the Energgon combiners is that they follow the whole Scramble City format, si it might be a good idea to figure out a set of hands and feet that are interchangable with both types of jet so either can still be an arm or leg.

the turbines get in the way when they're legs, but the other jets as legs look pretty lame. I think those other jets need better leg AND arm modes. having those two legs sticking out far apart from each other just looks so bad.

No I was just saying shape wise the A10s provide the classic comicbook superhero lower leg look but I'm using the modified transformation for his arms anyway so now the stealth fighters are his legs and in all actuality they can still do the scramble city combiner trick of arms becoming legs and such due to the hole in the strip for the stealth jets being the same size as the hole in the A10's nose which the pegs for his hands goes in. Thus allowing interchanging of the arms and legs. I think I should be able to finish Superion up this evening when I get back home. Final pics should be up tomorrow.

Yes I cut the balls off of Smokescreen's hands to make them fit. I also cut the top of the knees off of the A10s last night to give him actual poseable elbows and turned the gun half of the nose cone in such a way that they now function kind of like seeker arm guns staying in position while the elbow bends.
