The only fixed wing VTOL I know of with a dedicated lift fan is the Marines variant of the F-35 joint strike fighter. It has a lift fan behind the cockpit, with upper and lower doors that only open when the fan is in use. The problem with lift fans is that they add a lot of weight, that doesn't serve any purpose most of the time.
However, I'm still a sucker for any aircraft that can stop before it lands. I already have a second Starscream set aside to make my own Thrust.

Yes, Thrust is a cone-head, just like Ramjet and Dirge. Of the six Seekers, three had normal heads, while three had cone-heads. That wasn't an animation error.

They look to be about the same hieght and size. would it be possible to modify the G1 seekers wings for these customs or would it be better to custom build? I never liked the coneheads when they were originally released, but I liked Ramjet enough to buy it and I'm planning on working on the other two. I'm still trying to find Starscream, didn't have the money when I could find him.
