Also im sure it would be alot cheaper to buy a robotmaster skywarp/ tc rather than the classic one. (The classic ones were limited release exclusives correct?)

I'm kind of biased towards Robotmasters because of the oversized KO's I have like Wingstun and Wrecker Hook, which along with RM Mirage, I feel look nice with G1 Prowl and co. Though oversized Wingstun looks great with Classics Acid Storm in colour and size.
To me Robotmasters were the original Classics line. They gave us new molds of G1 characters such as Prime, the Seekers and Victory Leo and also BW characters such as Primal, Leo Convoy (much cooler than Classics Leo Prime) and Megatron, along with repaints of molds from other lines AND NO LEGEND!!!(which I'm thankful for).
Pardon the digression, can never pass an op to promote my fave sub line though in this case, I'd be more inclined with the Classics mold though as you said, you'd probably get the RM seekers in cheaper AND in a 2 pack.

I still have Giant Bomb and Smokesniper. All in all a pretty good line, but the seekers just don't match up to the classics mold. The one thing the seekers have right are the missile/arm guns. Starscream's alt mode look like they pulled it from the cartoon. Prime is pretty cool too...get the metallic version it's rare. I finally scored it for $15 at the flea market where I am from.

Is there a size difference between gigant bomb and it's g2 counterpart? I've been looking at that. I have the G2 and the Starscream and BB versions. I love 'em.

Robotmaster Skywarp

Classics Skywarp

"Classics" Thundercracker remains an exclusive (Botcon and Japan Store) so far, so he's going to be quite pricey.
Skywarp should be easier to acquire. Either version is nice, but for the American version your likely going to have to pick it up loose (no box) or get Ultra Magnus along in the box, as they where a packaged deal.
The mold is very nice. with good articulation. They're one of the best representations of the characters out there.
Robotmasters: not so much.

Nope..they are the same size. The cool thing about the RM versions are they are used in the SG Comic book I think. The symbols however are just plain purple though.

The only toys that are smaller than normal are BW Megs, BW Convoy, and Lio Convoy that match the original molds. Then Prime, the Seekers, Star Saber, and Vicotory Leo all all small. The G2 and Beast Wars repaints are the same size as ehir counterparts.

I have been seeing classics skywarp go for about $30 on ebay. Got mine for $34 shipped.

Leo is so small that I thought they downsized all the larger figs.

Yeah, this mold is not cheap or easy to get.
Makes me glad I picked up Skywarp when he was out in retail. A bout 25 for Magnus and Skywarp if I'm not mistaken.

Dearie, Hasbro and TakaraTomy never downsize their molds for repaints. Should there be a need for new smaller figures, they're designed from scratch.

If I went with RMs, I would look at them everyday as a reminder to the Classics that I don't have.

Scale-wise, RM seekers are noticably shorter but actualy do scale with some other Transformers toys. I like to display mine with Music Label Soundwave and Titanium War Within Megatron, among others. Of course, if you do pick them up there are some otherRM figures that compliment them well, like Starscream (same mold), Ligier (G1 Mirage) and Reverse Convoy (a tank that has both Optimus and Megatron heads you can swap back and forth) Ligier to me blows Classics Mirage out of the water, mainly because he's not so "anorexic"
If you do get the Thundercracker/Skywarp 2-pack it comes with a really nice Decepticon pin.
One last thing - it wouldn't shock me if Hasbro finally made mass release versions of both within the next year or so - I think Thrust is their way of leading up to that.

Classics Thundercracker is a Botcon toy, so he's going to be uber expensive. I'd go with the Henkei version, though also exclusive, it was produced in much larger quantities and should still be available in the $60 range. Kinda overpriced, but if you want a full set of good seekers...
That, or wait for Hasbro to re-release the rest of them. Thrust is an indication that they might just do that.

1. How would they release Thundercracker without facing the ire of the fans who got either the BotCon or Henkei version?
2. Is the mold still intact for that matter?

By the by, ain' the SW/TC two pack a bootleg or something? I seem to remember hearing that it wasn't an official release, or that it was a knockoff or something, becuase SW/TC weren't really in the whole Robotmasters storyline. By that logic thought, wouldn't Botcon Thundercracker kind of be a knock off, since the fiction he was in (the 07 comic) was essentially Elia-1 kicking Ravage, and Elita-1 wasn't even in the 07 set? I know the figure exsists now, but it wasn't in the 07 set.

RM Thundercracker and Skywarp are official releases, but an e-Hobby exclusive, so it wasn't regular retail. And please refresh your terminology. Being a KO has nothing to do with being in a storyline, but about being an imitation of a toy. A bootleg is a genuine fake. both mold- and colorwise.

To be honest...this will be an age old topic forever until Hasbro justs goes ahead and release a TC. Hasbro probably will release Dirge if anything else if you look at the way they are going with the whole Generations line.
As for the mold, the last seekers released were Universe Starscream, Henkei Dirge and Thrust. I have had two Uni Starcreams, and they are out of the package looser, than both Classics and Henkei. Having recently purchasing Henkei TC, he is slightly loose, but the right arm has issues with the placement of the arm laser, it just won't stay in the hole in robot mode, so he is back in his package until I can figure out how a fix will be made. The tightest seekers I have, joint wise are Classics Skywarp, and Acid Storm.
The mold is going to have some degradation, though I hope it doesn't, but I'll buy two Thrusts if I have to.
