Clouder - Gayest Transformers Character ever!
So I've been watching Masterforce episode by episode. Then this happens.
I don't know what else to call it, what the heck were they thinking when they made this guy up? I know the toy was a bat, and I thought a bat transformer was cool. Then they made THIS guy from it???

In Dreamwave comics Skar (the bat) is a small Decepticon who turns from bat-lie form to an engine, and he's a business partner with Double Dealer. I think I like that origin better then gay dude in balloon shorts who turns into a halloween reject.

In the Japanese Transformers: Masterforce cartoon, there is a character named "Clouder" who is a human with a set of "Master Bracers", which turn him into a Godmaster Transformer. The toy for him is the first picture, the toy bat. Him in human form is the second picture. When he activates his bracers he turns into the third picture. I was commenting on how silly he looks. I mean he carries a Man-purse and has swoopy hair, then that power-suit with the exposed thighs, bat helmet, etc...

depending on which continuality ur talking about, there different people...
Jap Masterforce, A human "Clouder" finds a set of master braces (1 a cybertron mark, the other a destron mark) that let him choose to be either a cybertron or destron.. That is his destron suit/armor in masterforce
In the US/UK Marvel there are 2 diff assumed to be Nebulon power master partners (1 autobot "Knok" and 1 decepticon "Skar") that either can combine with the transformer (depending on with one combines determines if its a autobot "Double" or decepticon "Dealer")
his DW profile says his power master partners are cybertroanians not Nebulons
IDW protrays "Dealer" as an autobot in the Hot Rod spotlight.
I kinda perfer the westren version better than how the jap series on headmasters and godmasters/powermasters.. makes for a much better story when you have 1 tf and 1 "alien" partner.. masterforce just felt a lot like power rangers with humans controling robots!!
and what is with that man purse?!?

fanny
Technically it is not a murse it is a fanny pack, the engines are very neat, it was a neat concept as well.
The toy is definitely a large step above that animation, luckily we did not get that guy in the Pretenders series.
Ah , the wacky Japanese such good things come from them if not for them we would have no Transformers, luckily they did not try to export some of the more "odd" Transformers stories.

They're not exposed thighs, they're combat tights.

I didn't really like the character of clouder much, but at that point in the series I was happy just to see a new Destron. Why are they always so badly outnumbered in the Japanese originated series? No wonder they always loose...

Doubt those are exposed thighs.....because if that was the case, his thighs would be bigger than the pants he wore before his wardrobe change.

Probably has to do with marketing.. Cybertrons/Autobots always outsell Destrons/Decepticons.. This has pretty much been true with all the series.

Hence why Battlestars had no Destrons whatsoever. And Zone had a whole one release(with four Destrons in the pack, Metrotitan, Metrobomb, Metrodash, and Metroshot, all repaints).
Personally, I think the most glaring outnumbering happens in Car Robots. There are 13 brand new molds, and 12 of those are Autobots, and the Cons only get one. Least it's a good one though, Gigatron

Oh, and I thought Clouder's bat armor was pretty cool myself. Reminded me a lot of Bomburst. But I do think the concept makes more sense than two seperate factioned Powermasters that have one body.

Agh, hate to do another post after one of my own, but it came to me this morning. If we do a figure/character count of each faction who appeared in Masterforce, the Decepticons actually outnumber the Autobots! And let's exclude Doubledealer(a wild card of sorts), and clones, counting each character as one. Also, I'll exclude Fastrack(Scorponok's little dude), since they represented generic Decepticons.
Autobots:
Pretenders-4
Headmaster Jr.-3
Powermasters-4
Godbomber-1
Grand Maximus-1
Total Autobots in Masterforce: 13
Decepticons:
Pretenders-3
Headmaster Jr.-3
Powermasters-3
Seacons-6
Firecons-3
Browning-1
Black Zarak-1
Total Decepticons in Masterforce: 20
There's no doubt that the Autobots were more powerful, and that the Firecons only appeard in a couple episodes, but they were in there.

Given how geeky he looks, his costume actually looks pretty cool and bad-a$$ especially the helmet and wings.

Additionally there were many duplicates of the Seacons running around. At least 4-5 of each. Mega and Giga could count as 2, but then so could Ginrai and Godbomber.

Yes to be fair Masterforce was an exception, and it's one of the reasons I forgive it for being so different to the norm.

Browning doesnt count! I have nothing really against him, i just cant imagine that someone who is browning would be much use on the battlefield!

I was kind of going by what figures were released actually, which is why I didn't include Devil Z.
The Browning figure is about the size of Megatron I think, so he wouldn't be so unimposing if you were too display a Masterforce collection.
Ya know, Browning is actually one of the stranger Decepticon characters. He's the only one that is toy accurate in both modes in terms of size, and he wasn't really a bad guy to begin with. Plus, I don't remember him being that powerful either.
Masterforce truly is the most unique Transformer series. I wish there was more deviation like that series to series.

I have two questions:
1) What is wrong with swoopy hair? Many of us have swoopy hair.
2) How does this make Clouder "gay" or the "gayest"?

Agreed. While I have no problem with using the term 'gay' to describe something (c'mon, if you saw a man in leather chaps with an open shirt or a guy in a pink cartigan sweater with baby blue slacks, you'd call it a 'gay' look too), this isn't a very good use of it.
First off, those stupid fanny packs were all the fashion rage at the time of the cartoon. That makes sense. His hair is blue and typically anime style. Again, at that point in anime, it makes sense.
I'm pretty sure that there was no man-sex or surprise butt-secks involved which would justify him as 'gay'.
I also don't think nor have I ever thought that Tracks was gay. He was rich and snobby. They were imitating Thurston Howell III of Giligan's Island fame.

I never thought Tracks was gay either, just very vain and what would now be called metrosexual.

My take on it was that Sunstreaker was vain and Tracks was metrosexual.

Thread title didn't say gay, said "gayest". If you are disputing my post, that would mean you can tell me someone else who is gayer looking?
