I've been a bit preoccupied the last few months, if you couldn't tell by my transtopia thread

I cancelled my pre-order for leo prime, doubt I'm actually going to get him, other stuff has come up, and I like the mold well enough as A3, but not enough to pay $55 for him. Also trying to work towards an apartment

Yeah, $10 an hour, at 30 hours a week isn't gonna cut it with tuition bills every month though, so I pre-ordered mp toy primal to make up for cancelling lio-convoy

I dig the shizznit out of this Megatron! There are the things about him that aren't that great. But doesn't every dang TF have something that isn't perfect? The stickers aren't great, and they are gonna peel over time. there are a few places that tabs don't tab that well, but he's not a floppy mess. Even when I got him home and was looking at the plastic through the window box, I was all, I duuuuunno 'bout this, but I cracked him open and BAM! The light from the room reflected back into my eyes, and I thought, HEY! That ain't so bad.
Like Will said the sculpting is fantastic! There are all kinds of awesome little details all over him. all that sculpting creates great little shadows and value contrasts that make up for all that grey and lack of paint. His transformation is awesome. Maybe the best executed triple changer in the line so far.

Both alt modes look gooooood.


I love that cockpit for the TM with it's cool little translucent windshield. Even with the sacrifices made to accommodate the triple change, the tank looks mean and solid.



Jet mode is cool. Pretty chunky but I've seen worse. A new equally as cool TM cockpit emerge's for this mode, and in a really interesting way. He can equip all his weapons in cool ways in this mode too.




Bot mode is just as good as the rest. And ooooooh that head sculpt is something else. I may give that other gun/back end of the canon a hit of spray paint. It's the only thing that sore thumbs about him for me. But, proportions are good, articulation is on point. One nice touch is that he is good and stable just using his feet in the official mode, but you can fold those jet tail fins down for added stability. awesome to have that option.


Oh, and of course he can fight dudes.

The thing that really sells him for me is his size. We haven't had a good ClasGen Voyager Megatron in a looooong while. And the TR figure pulls off the right look a little better that the old Classics. even though I love that silly old Nerf herder, wings and all.



So that brings us around to scale. Fiction dictates nothing to me in how I ingest my Transformers. My initial concept of scale comes from the 80's toys. Megs and Prime are the leaders, so they should be bigger than everyone except the guys that should be bigger. Through the brand's toy history the relationship between Voyager and Deluxe has always been perfect to me. Classics Prime next to Classics Sideswipe. Classics Megatron next to the Classics Seekers. I should note that I view the world through bot mode colored glasses. Yes. A jet is bigger than a car, but that's where I let my imagination take over.



Speaking of scale. Those Insecticons are perfect in Legends scale. One of the best thing to happen in the Generations line was doing all the mini bots in this scale. Bee, Gears, Cosmos, all those guys. I had been waiting for Hasbro to come to this obvious realization since 199whatever.



bodrock was asking about TR Voyager Prime. Classics Prime is probably still my favorite Prime figure. Awesome look and perfect size. I'm excited to see how the TR Prime measures up.

What toys from the boxsets do you like? While i know it would be an optimus overload, I would have preferred Magnus Prime to be in the same boxset as Voyager Optimus.
