Metroplex and Scorponock are very squat. Always wondered why they weren't pit against each other instead of Triptycon and Fortress Maximus.

I have been able to add some more G1 stuff to my collection. With certain toys released from the G1 line, some had variations with paint apps or even rubber tires which later went to plastic wheels, metal feet to plastic feet, etc. Ive really started to be on the hunt for those other variants that were released.

In a previous post I highlighted the Metroplex i found (rubber tires) and now i was able to find a good deal on the rubber tire variant of Rodimus Prime with specs card adn booklet. I have to say with Rodimus Prime, he was one of the best I found for sale on eBay. Not that i am trying to collect up all the variants of certain character but its nice to have the rubber tire version in my G1 case while i can keep my childhood version (plastic wheel) displayed with my other Transformers i got back in the 80s.

Moving onto Cyclonus, the version i got back in the day was the “purple” ear variant. I was able to snag the “blue” ear variant here while back. Overall it was in good shape for its age. Sure there is some sticker wear but hey, how old is it? Another good find and looks good on my 86 shelf along with Rodimus Prime.

I am still on the hunt for G1 Jazz and G1 Starscream to replace my Encore versions. Unfortunately, these two will cost a bit but i am not in a hurry or anything. You have to really do your research and find the better deal. For that i mean, good condition and being complete. In reality, the better deal doesn’t always mean the best condition so you have to be careful there.

Very nice! Rodimus looks great in alt mode.

@RodimusPrimeUkraine1,, for the most part they are basically the same. It is more about my pickiness for having the original G1 versions rather than reissues. Honestly, way back when i started on this rampage of buying G1 stuff, rather than having patience and finding the original ones, i went with the Encore versions. At the time, the Encore versions were a lot cheaper but they are still good in their own right. Im just trying to get my G1 collection to have all original releases, thats all.

@D-Max, thanks and like i said, overall he is in great condition and looks great in both modes.

Your continued pickup of older figures has inspired me a bit, I have a couple new figures from near the same era as Rodimus coming that I am quite excited for

Here is my highlight from Christmas. My wife surprised me with the Lego Optimus Prime set. I cannot thank her enough for getting me this and for supporting my collection. I have put him together, however, i am waiting on the sticker set from Toyhax to arrive before sharing photos assembled. I am looking forward to applying those stickers on him, that should make a big difference. Back to putting this guy together, it was fun and the transformation is neat in the fog act that you can transform him. It is simple but still; having that ability is nice.

@D-Max, thats awesome to hear. Which version of Rodimus is this? With my collecting i am trying to put more emphasis on really finishing up my G1 and G2 collection. Thats mainly for characters i have previous mentioned or buying accessories to make them 100%. Im trying really hard to buy up new guys and use that money for the older stuff. Of course there is some new stuff i want to get but the majority of my money allocated for the month goes to older stuff.

I'm not sure what you mean by which Rodimus that is.

I try to mix up older and newer figures, I have been enjoying a lot of older figures lately, and I am getting into some G2 with my bots on the way right now too

Lego Optimus Prime! Certainly very cool, I always prayed this would happen, glad to see it meets with a fellow fans approval. I, off course will have to save up for the knock off as I can't toss that money at once for a toy.

Nevertheless glad to see you buying older ones though. Which ones from the G2 line do you have coming? My G2 collection is almost there. Well in terms of having at least each figure, I'm down to two but with the variants of Grimlock and Snarl if and when i can get those, my goal for my G2 collection would then be complete.

I have Dirtbag, Turbofire, and Space Case all coming. I am especially looking forward to Turbofire for some reason. Transformerland update emails are dangerous.

Those are one good ones you have coming. The last two in the regular G2 line i need is Dirtbag and Roadblock. It seems their prices have went up on both, at least being 100%. It is what it is but for now they are on the back burner. I love the Cyberjets from the G2 line. It took a minute to finally get all of them but i just like how they are. Because of these molds, it has intrigued me in finding the ones that were released in the Robotmasters line.

I would check Transformerland, I got my dirtbag complete for $20 there. He is my first of the Autoroller type. The other 2 are also the first of their types I am getting, so all new experiences all around. It is highly tempting to buy a bunch of G2 from TF-land, very affordable in many cases.

I love it; representing G2! I have shopped on Transformerland before, i need to visit their sight more often. That was a great price for Dirtbag and you are right depending on the character and series their prices are pretty decent in most cases.

Here is my Lego Optimus Prime with the Toyhax sticker set applied. A big difference for sure. I did add the piece for the license plate and the pieces to make the monitor on his left forearm.

This sticker set isn’t cheap but if you are able to buy it i think it totally worth it.

How is it in alternate mode?

@RodimusPrimeUkraine1, apologize, didn’t see your question until now. Alt mode is actually not bad. For myself, it doesn’t feel like it’s going to break or anything and rolls pretty decent. Surprisingly the transformation is simple without having the fear it will fall apart during the process. Again, from my experience transforming him.

Something i had forgot to share awhile back was my latest addition to my Robotmasters line. All the way from Turkey, i purchased R-Blade for a relatively good price but most of the cost was on shipping. This makes three now I have from this line, R-Blade joins Delta Seeker and X-Gunner. Not that i am fully invested in collecting the entire line i have about four more i would like t get eventually. That would be: Rijie, Wrecker Hook, Air Hunter, and Wing Stun. I just like the these molds which were used in the Machine Wars line, plus the added weapons are cool.

Awesome, that mold looks real nice in those colors!

Definitely very decent articulation (especially for a figure that old), and a nice nod to G1 Jet/Skyfire. Does the cannon arm ever get annoying?
