I will nab him when he is released in America!

How odd that this is being touted as a Masterpiece?
Yes he looks pretty cool, but size wise and those hollow legs makes this a posh Binaltech/Alternator in my opinion.
Theres no denying the size is on a par with current Voyager and older Alternators but he just doesnt man up along side what I consider a Masterpiece.
I see Masterpiece class sitting nicely along side other Leader class figures, all big, bold and domineering!
As a Voyager class sized figure he will sit perfectly well along side his similiar sized brothers.
It reminds me of when Binal/Alt line ended and was later replaced/rebooted with Alternity, the quality remained but the size was reduced which meant they didnt fit well with their older cousins. Its a family thing!
Maybe its more a sign of the times where pricing goes up, size is reduced and the quality becomes debatable?

You'll have to do better than that Troll-Boy!!![]()
My current opinion is offered from text, pictures and reviews via Ryan's great website.
These Transformers forums are all about offering review, debate, opinion and love for our 'hobby' and silly childish comments such as yours hold no interest for the real fans.
Moving on...

It does, however, feel like the perfect Transformers toy in a Transformers Classics line, similar to Mattel's Masters of the Universe Classics line. Give me one of these a month and I'd be one happy camper.
I don't know, i think it depends on the intricacy of the transformation. That's always how i looked at a MP figure. Accurate modes in both forms, to their original counterparts that is. Classics to me, are updates to those looks. Different, but having some obvious nods and such. I just hope he comes with some good accessories, such as a jetpack. Sideswipe NEEDS a jetpack
if it depends on the intricacy of transformation.. then MP01 wouldn't be a masterpiece figure at all.
this is what masterpiece is.. G1 cartoon accurate alt mode - G1 accurate robot mode. .. this figure accomplishes both.

Blurrz wrote:Anyways robotmel, and others who are skeptical about the pricing of Masterpiece Sideswipe. Just remember it's less pricey and more intuitive than United Stepper, United Arftire, and all the other expensive movie exclusives that were released in prior years.

It's not that Sideswipe isn't in scale with Hot Rod, it's that Hot Rod isn't in scale with MP-10 on.zappatton2 wrote:The more I think about it, the less I'm bothered that Sideswipe is not in scale with Hot Rod, I'll just think of it as Cybertron vehicle vs. Earth Vehicle. Of course, I'm committing myself to the hope that all the 1984/85 cars are Sideswipe scale, and the likes of Kup, Blurr, Arcee, etc. are bigger. If the ever get the MP treatment, of course.
