Colour pics of Asia exclusives
Re: Colour pics of Asia exclusives
the name of it "Aligned" cracks me up, because it's anything but. TF Continuity today is no more or less confused than it was when we had UK and US comics, cartoons, kids story books and toy bios all telling us varying degrees of the same basic story.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

Yea, well that isn't a Classcis Brawl. Plus I've already got a Classics Brawl the Universe 2008 one.
Man this is a weird set of figures the more you think about them, movie, Classics and Prime all muddled together.

Yeah, I find the whole aligned continuity a joke, and really think it is going to hurt the brand in the long run, more than help it.

Legends – sure, great. Still won’t get me to buy another one, especially for the price these are gonna go for.
Springer – Hmm. I guess, if you like the mold, it’s nice.
Wheelie – hah, nice slingshot. And it’s a good mold, but…pass. I’ll wait for the iGear version.
Swerve – I still refuse to believe that that mold and that head won’t be used for Orion Pax. When that happens, that I’ll get.
Cliffjumper – MY EYES!
Sandstorm – celebrating the 500th Dune Runner repaint!
Dead End, Brawl, Laserbeak, Hot Spot – cool enough, but again…$$$
Powerdive, Megatron – now those are nice. Might actually get.
Brawn – AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUGGGHHHH! There are few things I wouldn’t do to get that mold – i.e. kill a person, hide marijuana in my closet, admit to liking Nicki Minaj – and now I can add that abomination.

It's not aligning entire previous series together. It's aligning little elements, bits, and pieces of previous series together. Animated did the exact same thing with all its references and homages it had, only difference here being that it's being done on a much larger scale.Lord Onixprime wrote:craggy wrote:the name of it "Aligned" cracks me up, because it's anything but. I don't care for a single one in there since I already have the moulds of each of the ones I like. Dead-end looks pretty cool in those colours though, but if I get a3rd party Menasor, that I don't need this Dead-end.

Why are the Asia exclusives again? I just don't understand why they aren't selling these everywhere. The molds are made, the figures are out there, why not make more? Does Has/Tak think people won't buy them?
I want Wheelie, Springer, Brawn. I can only imagine what these are going to cost get them here.

I got to disagree with you there. So far I feel much more like aligned is only about merging G1 and Movie elements into one canon, while a lot of Transformers history is being swept under the rug, quite literally, as Hasbro seems to have tunnel vision lately.

If you've experienced as much Aligned material as I have, you would see plenty of elements from G1 (cartoon, Marvel, Dreamwave, and IDW versions), G2, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Armada, Cybertron, Movies, and Animated all woven into this continuity.Lord Onixprime wrote:Sabrblade wrote:It's not aligning entire previous series together. Though, of all the American franchises, elements from RiD and Energon seem to be conspicuously absent.

Re: Colour pics of Asia exclusives
I didn't really watch the cartoon, or buy any Animated toys, but it definitely seemed to do a better job of aligning previous continuities together into a satisfying whole.
I've no problem with Hasbro wanting to promote the current Prime and FOC lines. Makes sense since those are the ones with the games and cartoons advertising them to the masses. Generations is a fine place to have characters from all over the previous takes on the TF franchise though. As much as I'd love a full-on Classics line, I don't mind seeing BW, AEC, Animated or movieverse characters pop up.

I've just felt most continuities get the shaft compared to G1 and Movieverse. Sure, Ratchet is definitely an homage to Animated Ratchet, and Bulkhead is obvious, but the Beast Era and Unicron Trilogy elements seems nonexistent.

Honestly, that Titanium Hotzone is one of the most underated figures of the last decade, maybe ever. He's an amazing tribute to the original figure and would probably scale better with most of your figures than the one you just saw, unless your collection is Voyager heavy.
As far as whether I grab any of these guys, prize will determine a lot of it for me. The legends Hoist seems most likely.
Serious? I'm just going by my experience of other Titanium figures. Plus Silverbolt is pretty tall, so a voyager may look less silly next to him than a deluxe, when they are the same type of character (team leader)

FunPub seemed to acknowledge Sideburn and Skybyte. Energon is just an homage line with a crappy anime, so it mainly existed to homage past lines. RiD was actually fun and the anime didn't take itself seriously all the time.Sabrblade wrote:Though, of all the American franchises, elements from RiD and Energon seem to be conspicuously absent.

I want to see a clearer picture of Swerve. I'm really disappointed in Springer, but then again, they've yet to get him right since G1. Glad I have Warbot.
The Superlink Sprung release (Energon Bulkhead re-colored a little bit), makes a FANTASTIC TT/Hasbro release of Springer, just not named Springer (though Sprung roughly is equivalent to Springer).
Still not a triple changer, but at least a fantastic bot and alt mode that is very similar to Springer's bot and helicopter modes.

May have to save a little money and pick up Hotspot instead of Artfire.
Also, was hoping the G2 Megatron would have an over-the-top, G2 paint scheme but that's pretty sedate-disappointing.
Some others are interesting but just not worth picking up IMO.
