Aww, no Protecticons...

It's too bad most of these molds started off as Autobots, and all but the fire truck are absurdly common on both sides (ironically enough, considering the origins of the Aerialbots and Stunticons). You don't get the whole fun of seeing a traditionally Decepticon vehicle being used as a heroic Autobot.

Magnaboss came years before RiD, PCCs were rooted in the old G1 combiner concept (torso guy with four smaller limbs), and if by "G1 Beast" you mean that abomination from that Australian pack-in comic, that had no toy (which is what's being discussed here).

G1 Beast...That's not referring to the Dino bot combiner that was most likely created from nightmares

Couldn't agree more. As others have said, there's simply too many combiners in respect to combiners. I usually don't back off of a purchase this early, but I don't think I'll be purchasing this combiner simply because there's too many autobot combiners confirmed already.

EDIT: I still will vote in later rounds though, maybe I'lll buy him if he turns out really cool.

You have to download the mobile app to vote. Which, considering how little space I have on my phone, really isn't worth having just to vote.

It was on iPhones and Android products only, so people who only had computers couldn't vote, unlike the Windblade fan vote.

Right I see, thing is though end of the day couldn't you just change their faction if you wanted to (aassuming you liked the figures) and get repolabels to help out

Yup, and my old phone isn't one of those mentioned either.

I don't know why anyone is surprised by the outcome. Hero characters are just more popular, period. This was a vote the Decepticons were never going to win. By the way, I voted for an Autobot combiner too. They were always outnumbered in G1. It doesn't mean we'll never get a new Decepticon combiner either. We just won't get to "choose" what it looks like.

well there is enough guys in the East Cybertron trading co to make a combiner which mindmaster would (probably) be the poor soul to be the torso

You know, I'm having my own suspicions here. I'm starting to think that this Fan-built Combiner thing is all a ploy to bring Nexus Prime to the toyline (the character has been decided upon) and our votes only decide on the molds each component will assume.
This is also in conjunction to the IDW storyline the toyline follows-there's been enough talk about Nexus and the Enigma of Combination these days.

Feh - the Autobots already have more combiners than the Cons. What's up with this?

Well, seeing as how Ultra Prime has to borrow someone else's limbs, I can't see him standing side-by-side with Superion and Defensor against Menasor and Devastator.

Same goes for Optimus Maximus. He'll also have to borrow someone else's limbs. And even if we get limbs from Ironhide, Sunstreaker, Mirage, and Prowl, that's still only one set of limbs for two torsos to fight over.

Somehow, both factions managed to outnumber each other.

I think the reasoning behind claiming the 'bots have more combiners is the fact that characters like Liokaiser and Battle Gaia will likely never be made in the US.

i think the over-hyping came from all of us actually. and an overloaded line of repaints? you mean AEC? hastak actually does quite a good job of remolding and retooling to make new figures. have you ever considered just... collecting G1 figures and be done with it? either that or youll continue to hate everything.

I think they were referring to the autobots having more combiners for this new line "Combiner Wars"

Which so far has announced a lot more autobots than decepticons.

I voted decepticons all the way. The good guys should be outnumbered and outgunned, that is what makes the good vs. bad exciting. You want to pull for the good to win, using their wits and courage to find a way to win against incredible odds, but when there is nearly a 2 to 1 ratio of good to bad, there isn't much excitement.

Thing is we need to look in the grand scheme of things. This is only the first couple of waves and I suspect that devy will launch near defensors line which brings the battle lines to:

Autobot
Superion
Defensor

Decpticon
Menasor
Devestator (which will tower over everyone else so that's a big advantage to the cons)

Hasbro know what they are doing in order to try and maximise their profits

So, not a problem for me as an Android user, but for those that don't have a mobile device to get the app to vote, have you tried an Android emulator? Not sure if that would work, but maybe?
