Well guys, i've always been pondering this thought ever since watching G1 cartoons and being a G1 fan as well. But, with all the combiners out there Autobots and Decepticons alike, who would match up or equal who in a fight?

I know right off the bat, we have Superion vs Menasor which im a big fan of both but lean more towards Menasor due being mentally unstable, agility and speed.

I'm guessing Bruticus would go up against Defensor, both are tough cookies, but again leaning towards the Decepitcons for victory.

Computron vs Abominus both very powerful robots in every way, but i know Abominus lacks some smarts, but comes back in strength and Computron is precise in every way for his critical hit but takes far too long to compute for that critical to happen during battle.

Now, I don't agree with Dinobots vs Constructicons (Devastator) just the idea of a giant robot against 5 other robots is just little out there, but i know the Dinobots have their strong and weak points just like the Constructicons does, but it would have been really cool to see the Dinobots combine into a giant robot, but for now and too me, Devastator equal is Omega Supreme.

And now we have two left: Predaking and Piranancon!

As far as i know Predaking has no equal, no weakness, or another combiner that comes close to him, unless anyone considers Sky Lynx to be his equal, but me personally i dont. So who would be his equal?

What about Piranacon? i know Transformers cartoons ended before he could make an appearance, but i wonder who would be his equal or rival, any thoughts?

And one more thing, if Predaking and Piranacon was in a battle who would win? Both are very powerful robots, both combiners are trackers by programming and love the thrill of the hunt. So, would it be a tie between these two or would it depend on which environment they're in? Sea or Land could be the tie-breaker!!!

Whats your thoughts???????

If I have forgotten any combiners please input on this and just trying to have some fun with this and see where is it goes.

From a story point if of view you got all the rivals right:

Devastator vs. Dinobots
Superion vs. Menasor
Defensor vs. Bruticus
Computron vs. Abominus

There was a pair you may not know about, as it was in the Japanese Headmaster series:

Devastator vs. Raiden (both were Diaclone toys, that's why)

Predaking was done by a former Bandai designer, so he had no rival planned. Piranacon did though, a Dinosaur combiner which never saw release.

I'm afraid to say this, but the Decepticons win out on all accounts, not just by number of combiners, but more so by their willingness to use them. In most if not all cases the Decepticon combine first, then the Autobots out of defense.

Jelze thanks for the information, too be honest i really didnt know about the Headmasters cartoons until later on and i still need to watch all of it and get the full effect of those cartoons.

I liked when the Dinobots and the Predacons were together in Call of The Primatives. I always wanted to see those two teams go at it in big way.

I had always thought that it was generally excepted that the Dinobots naturally fight Constructicons/Devastator having both been constructed on Earth? 'Heavy metal war' is the classic example.

However the G1 season 2, part 2 episode 'The secret of Omega Supreme', reveals that the Constructicons had in fact followed Megatron to Earth. More telling is the fact that Devastator had already fought Omega Supreme on Cybertron long before the Dinobots were a twinkle in Wheeljack's eye. So maybe they are more natural sparing partners?

Personally, I do like to see Devastator and the Dinobots tear it up!, but I guess that's just me.

well since we're on the subject of combiners...what about DinoKing and LioKaiser. Multiforce and Road Ceaser were no match to me. And Star Sabre had to be in combined mode to be equal to LioKaiser. BreastForce was a bad group!!!

Anyhow, I feel the opposite list you have is accurate, though PredaKing was supposed to be all awesome...in the show he kind of...wasn't..
Bruticus did the most damage I think...

I agree with the match ups presented so far except for the Dinobots v.s. Devastator...
Omega Supreme would be their primary enemy because he wants revenge for their betrayal and destruction of Crystal City.

As for Predaking, though he may not of been a good match up in terms of strength and...well combining, Sky Lynx was, essentially his rival.

For Piranacon, who was only ever shown in the Masterforce series (to my knowledge) was commonly opposed by God Ginrai.

I do think that if Predaking and Piranacon got into a fight though that it would be an epic battle with no clear winner. Both have many of the same functions and purposes. And both have some of the meanest Decepticons that make up their combined forms.
