This <a href="http://www.comicsinfinity.com/p-10301-preorder-transformers-animated-vol-1-tp.aspx" target="_blank">First Volume</a> contains the entire 70-minute kick-off adventure, while the <a href="http://www.comicsinfinity.com/p-10302-preorder-transformers-animated-vol-2-tp.aspx" target="_blank">Second Volume</a> contains 2 later episodes. Both Volumes are of the "Cinemanga" style.
The Second Volume has also posted a better image of Earth Mode Megatron:

Anybody else REALLY happy about the very obvious G1 Megs influence of this design?
Its about bloody time Megatron's G1 incarnation got a bit more love in a main line, especilly concidering the very hit and miss nature of the charecter in recent serieses.

Animated Megs is reminding me of the would be Super and Ultra Megatron of BattleStars.
Animated is real hit and mostly miss with me. But this most likely coinsidential homage is welcome here. however it must be prepaired to be retooled.

I thought so too, but the pics you posted are now making me think that the Hovercraft thingy we have seen is Cybertronian Megatron, the Head, hands and arms are all wrong, and we know that this line is fairly show accurate...
I'm probably wrong though, and the head and whatnot are just prototype issues.

great looking picture if it wasnt those things on his back you swear megatron turns into a gun again really liking the gun barrol still not that crazy about the figures though until i read review about them im holding off on them for now.

Yes that is indeed the Prototype for the pre-earth design, the erth mode is soposed to be a gun/blaster.
Man I'm liking this more and more, I really love that design!

I have my issues with the new designs of the Transformers, but I DO love them way MORE than I would ever love the designs of the (live) movie (with some exceptional examples like Jazz, Brawl and of course, Mr. Blackout!).
Regarding this new design, I do love the approach not only because its G1-alike but also because it looks BETTER than (live) Megatron. He manages to look fearsome without looking like an Alien abort!
