Concept Sketch of "Trans-Scanning" Bumblebee Figure
TFormers.com has posted a scan from the November 2007 issue of Dengeki Hobby. The issue contains a small concept sketch of the previously reported "Trans-Scanning" Bumblebee figure, which, given what we know of the figure so far, seems to be a protoform toy with attachable armor.
See the scan of the concept art on TFormers.com <a href="http://tformers.com/article.php?sid=8570" target="_blank">by clicking here</a>.

Interesting. Reminds me of the old medabot toys where you attached the armor around the tinpet(skeleton).

yeah but here is the cool part, the skeleton is the protoform and transforms!! then when in bot you attach the armor for a Bumblebee action figure!! I hope the articulation is extreme!! Come on Takara Tomy, ultra cool paint apps Please!! No Hasbro grey!!!
the only downside to this guy is you won't get the 08 concept camaro in altmode...
Bah!! the camaro is overrated anyways, whats cooler then a space comet??
I hope he gets a battle mask head...as a replacement to to the original open masked face.. that way we could switch them up for battle scenes!!

This is really cool; it'll be even cooler if the armored bot transforms also. This is an innovative idea, and could open the door for even more cool action features on future Transformers figures. Kinda like the the way the first few Minicons formed actual parts of the larger robot's vehicle mode, as opposed to just being a car or something sitting on the side of the robot mode's leg... Anyways, I wonder if they'll come out with more characters? I know the Kitbashing community will have a field day with these Protoform figures!

Looks interesting, but I'm more intrigued by the Repaint of the KB Spychanger Laser Optimus Prime at the top of the picture.
Looks pretty nice.

I need to see the final pics of the toy before I can give an opinion.

... yeah, might be. It's a fresh idea, but whether they'll be worth getting or not really depends on the execution.
If they were fully transformable, and you could swap the pieces to change from the 70s Camaro to the Concept Camaro, it would be all kinds of awesome.
But from what I understand, it's only transformable in protoform mode, and doesn't have a car mode.

I was thinkin' the same thing. Really cool concept, and reminds of how much I miss Metabots.
And, Oh yeah, I gotta have this.
