Watching an entire audience jump at that scene, from the pop of the oil can to the 10W-30 shower, would be funny as hell!

I honestly don't care. 3D is too distracting, and I've never bothered with movies that use it.

Beowulf in Imax 3D was awesome too!

I've heard a lot of bad things about Beowulf. A lot of changing going on there. Characters not dying when they should, characters doing the things they weren't supposed to, Stuff like that.

So "change" in the 2007 Transformers movie is ok but not in this ? LOL

The movie sucked for me because the whole thing was a slaughterfest of idiotic norse vikings or something from start to finish (grendel eating the guys head was unessessaraly drawn out), and there was only ONE 3-D part that looked any good, and that was only 10 seconds long and a zoom out shot at that. Everything else (the first washing lady and that moron trooper guy scene for example) was just...wrong IMO.
Overall, I believe that if a movie is made FOR 3-D, the story will absolutley suck (exception being Monster House, which was decent enough for the ticket price). We all want Transformers 2 to be good, and 3-D is something that would just crapify it. I mean, who wants to look at Bumblebee 'peeing' on the crowd?

Senor Hugo wrote:Beowolf, The Iliad, The Odyssey and the Bible all share one thing on common.
They are all myths.
Now before people all get up in arms "The Bible isn't a myth it really happened! bitch bitch bitch"
Let me set something straight.
Myth means a "Sacred Story"
The Iliad and Odyssey were the closest things the Greeks had to a written bible, Beowolf I would imagine is along the same lines, just as sacred as the stories of Zeus or Jesus.
Plus there is one thing common with all mythical stories, they are rooted in fact.
We know now that the battle of Troy actually took place, considering we found Troy, and we found the actual Ithica.
Now, comparing Transformers, a fictional property, to legends passed down from generation to generation before actually being written about on paper. Well that is damned stupid.
If thats the case, I propose we rewrite the Bible where Jesus doesn't actually die, he gets rescued from the Romans by Mary Magdalin and they have a high-speed chariot chase through Jerusalem, before tipping over market-stands causing the Roman soldiers chariots to explode.
Now, all of that stuff aside.
Filming Transformers in 3d will do one thing, take away from any actual worthwhile shots to adding in 3d "jump-points" where more and more things will fly at the screen to make the movie look like it's actually jumping out at you.
Now, if you want Transformers to be filmed like this, before you actually sign on 100%, go rent "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl - 3d", watch it in full 3-d effects, glasses and everything, and be sure to pay attention to how they do the 3d effects. Then come back and say that you want Transformers in 3d.

I did agree, that while Transformers is constantly in change, things like Beowolf has never extremely changed like what we see in TF.
I meant it was stupid to compare TF to Beowolf in the sense of change. One being a legend passed down, barely ever changing, the other constantly being updated for newer generations.
Yeah, sorry about that it was late for me.For Transformers change is necessary, in 50 or so years, Transformers will probably be long gone and forgotten. In order to keep it around, it's had to change, like with Beast Wars, had that not come around, Transformers would have probably never showed back up in the lime-light.
However, things like Beowolf have survived the ages without change, the Beowolf movie did change the legend, and screwed it up, really badly. Had the legend not been changed, it may have been a little short, but it would have been awesome.
But for Transformers change really is a good thing, for fans and Hasbro, it brings out new toys for Hasbro to sell, new designs, and with Hasbro actually starting to listen to the fans more, we get better products.
Basically, Transformers is based around change, so, like I said, comparing it to something that hasn't changed throughout the ages is silly.
