I've tried searching Seibertron for info and Googling DA-28, and some of the info seems to be contradictory.

At first, I read that it's supposed to be Hasbro's version of Jetwings OP, just without the jet pack. In another article, it said that Takara's going to be releasing this as a so-called DA-28 DX Redecoration OP.

There seem to be three separate rumors of what this DA-28 is supposed to be:

Hasbro DA-28 Redecoration OP: DOTM LC OP mold without jetpack.

Takara DA-28 Redecoration OP: DOTM LC OP mold with new paint scheme.

Takara DA-28 "Striker" OP: New DOTM LC OP mold with stealth mode either integrated in to alt mode or "tacked-on" using included BFG and shield.

The only consistent info is that it's set for an October 1st release.

As you can see, I'm really confused here.

FYI, the reason I'm asking is that I've only got enough cash to buy either the DMK OP, or the DA-28, and I'd like to know what exactly is the DA-28 before the DMK runs out of stock. If it's just a repainted DOTM LC mold, I'm passing on it since I've already got the Jetwings OP on pre-order.

In short, what exactly IS the fig in this picture?:

WELL ONE THING FOR SURE DA-28 LOOKS VERY MUCH LIKE A TAKARA EXCLUSIVE AND NOT A HASBRO RELEASE. THE TOY CODE ITSELF IS TAKARA SO IS THE TRADING CARD ATTACH TO IT. MOST PROBABLY IS JUST ANOTHER SLIGHT RETOOL OF THE JETWING PRIME LEADER MOULD WITH SOME NEW WEAPONS SINCE THE LISTED PRICE IS LOWER THAN JETWING PRIME DO NOT EXPECT IT TO HAVE A LOT OF MEGA DIFFERENCE LIKE SOME BIG TRAILER.

For starters, anything with a designation number, in this case DA-28, is TakaraTomy only, as those numbers are extremely widespread in Japan for toys.

All we know for certain is that, that it looks like a Leader-sized Prime, and that it's possibly a retool of the RotF Leader Prime. That's it, nothing more.

I just found out there's a second batch of DMK OP kits coming up around December. By then this DA-28 would have already been released, and I can make a decision whether to get him or the DMK.

BIG NEWS this, according to my retailer friend who have access to latest retial info from Takara, this redecoration prime from Takara will boast an eexcellent metallic paint job, complete with shilverish shield, mega gun and sword. OMG he said this Leader Prime will blow away all other primes inlcuding Jetwing Prime, Ultimate Prime and Buster Prime, simply cannot wait.

Ask anyone in the marketing department te same and they'll probably claim the same. Pics or it didn't happen.
