Ok, at the beginning of this year, FansProject announced (among other things we've already seen) that they would also be doing another Warbot (awesome), two more Causality figures (??), and...Crossfire 3.

As you know, the Crossfire line so far has been AWESOME upgrades to the mediocre Energon/Classics combiners: Superion, Bruticus, and Devastator. We've got Superion, we've got Bruticus, and it's strongly believed that Crossfire 3 will be...Menasor?

Pardon me, but what the heck?

While a stand-alone combiner from FP would be awesome (esp. if it was freaking MENASOR), we have waited for Classics Devastator to get the Crossfire treatment for too long. I've heard people say that FP doesn't want to get caught in the Devastator war (CrazyDevy, TFC), but...hello! That upgrade for the BotCon 2011 Stunticons? That, I think, is gonna start a Menasor war! Plus, the Crossfires have been a LOT less expensive than Hercules is turning out to be! So come on, FP! Crank out the Constructicons!

I know I'm gonna get at least a few comments saying "You're a moron!" "Can you hear yourself?" etc. But I really do believe this.

ive gleaned from a fairly reliable source that it will be green, but its going to be animal based instead of construction. take it with a grain of salt, but thats the rumor.

It's not going to be an upgrade for Classics POS Dev...I'd put money on it. And I don't know if Crossfire 3 is necessarily the Menasor release, but either way, that's not in competition with the BotCon set upgrade as they're different lines entirely. A 3rd Party 'Classics' Blitzwing wouldn't lose sales because people already have Animated Blitzwing.

I don't think you're a moron, but I also don't think FP will be doing a Devy. Word is FP is planning a Mensor. I don't think they want to get into an already saturated Devy market, and I think the sales of their G3 trailer suffered due to competing with the BTS trailer.

i could see them doing menasor seeing as the animated add on is for an already hard to find botcon exclusive. >:oP

Still, I can't imagine FansProject not doing one, since there is clearly some demand for it. And given how well the limited releases have sold, I see no reason why they couldn't put together a limited release if it came down to it. I'd be willing to pay a bit more to have a good Devastator with real limbs.

The only downside is that limited releases just scream "scalper", and like five people will buy the entire stock to rip off the rest of us.

I think that's the attitude that is generally ruining the 3rd party bubble we had these last few years. The last thing I want to see is a 'me too' product. >:oP

Ummm...I think if you look around a bit you might find a couple options out there.

It's possible someone else might do an upgrade since the latest cool and trendy thing to do is to start up a 3rd Party operation, but FP won't. They know what they're doing and the market just isn't there to turn a piece of **** into the 3rd or 4th best option.

Yeah. Devastator was the worst of the Energon combiners. And any attempt to 'upgrade' him into any sort of Classics Devvy is doomed from failure. New forearms and such, possible, but I doubt there'd be a market for that.

hy is this thread even here? we KNOW FP are making a devastator set. Its being done by the side company Make-Toy and they have already shown images of it standing next to FP bruticus

so why ramble on about it when we all know its happening anyways? its like me saying 'I bet the repainted classics wreckgar will be a junkion' when we all know the details about it

Maketoys isn't Fansprojects. But they are being supported by them.

That said, why would they undercut it by, esentially, selling a cheaper veersion? Why would they enter into an oversaturated Devestator market?

Crossfire 3 might be the Constructicons .... sure, it's a possibility. I tend to think it might be Glaciarbot, the original Scramble City type combiner they showed pics of earlier. But I'd love it to be some kind of Menasaur.

Ever since I heard word that FP's next combiners project may be Menasor, I am completely on board with that! That would be amazing.

To me, the MakeToy Devastator is essentially my FP one. If the QC is on par with FansProject, the only real difference is the name on the box. The aesthetics match perfectly and it's in scale with the Crossfire releases.

I'd buy some Glacierbots too. I remember the sketches for that project.

When Menasor appeared at the end of the first ongoing arc, I sent FP about a dozen requests for them to make one with a variety of reasons and suggestions. Not taking credit or anything but they knew the interest was there!

And at least with FP we know when we see the first prototype, we'll see the whole thing! None of this "buy the first few and maybe see a prototype for the net part" crap!

i really want the stunticons, but im wary that they'll require use of the Henkei Wildrider.

i really like universe dragstrip as my difinitive one, so i have mixed feelings about getting a new one.

Bah, who am I kidding, its FP, they can do no wrong in my book.

what were we talking about again?

Not a chance. If they were going to do four other original molds, why cripple your sales by requiring such a rare figure to complete the set? Plus I doubt they'd be deluxe size limbs.

I currently have 1 of each of the Energon style combiners on a single shelf: Classics Devastator, ROTF Bruticus with Crossfire 2A & 2B, a mix of Energon & ROTF Superions with the Crossfire set, a G1 head and an abdomen filler from Shapeways, and finally Nexus Maximus (not the other one.) Not counting Nexus (who's mostly Decepticon anyway), the combiners are very 'con heavy. As much as I want the Stunticons, I could definitely go for some Protectobots.

Or hell, both if there's enough time between them! Get on it, FP!

it would be really awesome to see a full combiner done by FP. i would like to see the classics devvy upgraded, but i would much rather see an all new Menasor!
