Hey guys! figured I'd share my first custom hot rod paint job concept! It is quite obvious I am using bumblebee

considering he is the only "sports car" at the moment. I am totally going to do this again if Jazz is ever released. Since he is practically perfect for hot rod.

I am acutally going to do a repaint as well of his robot mode using close to Henkei Rodimus' color scheme as possible. Also thinking on using a hot rod head or equivalent.

If you can't tell this is actually done in photoshop at the moment. Doing final design work so I just don't go out and get paint and have at it XD lol :lol:

Wanted to make sure it would look awesome as well before I went and possibly ruined a perfectly good figure.

I would really love comments, suggestions or questions

Well done.
Too bad bot mode doesn't translate so well without heavy mods. That was a little negativity there but you know what i mean....

oh yeah def lol i might just mod the head everything else is keeping as is, just painting everything. still look awesome though

I'll see if i can photoshop up some bot mode concepts. I will need them eventually

Very interesting! I love this figure's alt mode, and I must say it looks great with Hot Rod's colors. Well done. I look forward to seeing more!

thanks I do too! been busy so I haven't really had time to color the robot mode yet =\ in photoshop i mean lol. Maybe I can squeeze some time in tomorrow

Also I will possibly be selling him after he is all done (the actual figure).

I am thinking on using a gloss when he is all done to give me a complete "hot rod car" feel as well oldies hot rod metallic paint. I might do some battle damage effects if I am feeling particularly adventurous

The DS WFC version is the coolest Hot Rod I have ever seen.

I like your concept, I really do get a Hot Rod vibe from the paint job. I too am doing a WFC Hot Rod but I am not using the Bumblebee mold. I am using Cybertron Hot Shot. It is a great starting point but will require a bit of modification. I already have done some modifications to it but there is a long way to go. I think it will be close enough to the DS character.
