Custom Transformers Prime Slipstream

Postby Jin Saotome » Wed Apr 10, 2013 3:07 pm

This custom Transformers Prime Slipstream was a very request custom and people asked me to make her from the same Beast Hunters Starscream mold I made the updated Airachnid from. More of the spikes/fins were removed from the mold and sanded down to form a more normal seeker body. Slipstream's head is a new sculpt that features a mix of Arcee's and Starscream's featured including some new ears. She was painted with Testors and formula P3 Teal/Grey/Purples and sealed with a semigloss varnish to prevent wear. Her missiles came from an Avatar tread-bike of some sort and were modded with 5mm diameter hard plastic silly straws to fit her forearms.

this looks awesome...makes me wonder if prid arcee's forearms and if it will interfere with the transformation

I tried it, the SS ball peg is a little larger so you'll have to hollow out more inside of Arcee's forearm. The swap doesn't interfere with the transformation, it just doesn't help it any. SS's forearms peg to his body and his legs peg into the forearms. None of that occurs with Arcee's in place so there's no locking into place there, everything would just tuck up loosely underneath.

Weapon: Null-Ray Rifle
Great custom, as usual! If there's one thing I'd suggest, it's the removal of that "appendage" on her groin. I mean, if it doesn't serve any practical purpose, it looks rather..."inappropriate" on her.

Otherwise, the best Slipstream custom to date.

You've absolutely bossed that mold, my man. Bravo! That'd go well in a Classics line me thinks.

Awesome work. But, why use that mold when the original Screamer mold is so much more feminine. Voyager Screamer molds are shelf warming everywhere. Anyways still a great piece!

I actually thing this mold works better as a female then the voyager mold. the voyager mold is to big...and this one is a better size for a female seeker

This is awesome, great job. Have you seen the Slipstream head for this mold over on Shapeways? I'm planning on getting that to make my own Slipstream.
