Cybertron Unicron Review

Postby Sportimus Prime » Sun Jul 08, 2007 12:20 am

Got him from the postman today. I love ebay.

Tank Mode:

Kind of odd looking at first, yet, after some close inspection and messing around, I really like it-a LOT! It looks freaking cool. 1 big-ass cannon+1 hidden cannon=badass!!! It's just neat.

Robot Mode:

OMG! You know, I always wanted a Unicron (who hasn't? LOL). Well, here he finally is. No, he ain't no planet, but somehow, he seems so much cooler. I like his look. He still looks menacing! Not quite as tall as Excellion, but what he lacks in height he makes up for with his...big cannon. I mean the one on his right shoulder, not the other one. ;) His chest sticks out too far where his mono-boob of death is, but that's okay. Despite not being a planet-bot, he still has that Unicron "look", at least to me he does. Fantastic detail in this, and his tank mode.

Transformation:

I really had fun with this one. It's not a headache to transform, but is rather challenging. All these little twists and turns, rotations, moving hinges and so forth make it rather fun to change him. He is definately a "MUST HAVE" in my book. Good articulation too. When I get Primus, he'll be standing on top of him like in the 1986 movie. :)

All modes and transformation rating: 10/10 He earned it.

The cyber keys are still a goofy gimmic though. I don't fault the toy for it.

I have to agree on the fact that Cybertron Unicron is cool even though it's not the gigantic planet we know so much.

I like that they kept the original purple, orange, & white colour scheme for this incarnation of Unicron.

Oh, & I'm new here, but not new to Transformers. I have been a fan for many years up to now.

Sweet, nice job! He's cooler as a non-planet.

Welcome Silverbot ^_^

You should ask Counterpunch to borrow his time machine so you can go back to last year when this might have been relevent.

I wasn't here a year ago, and I only got this figure yesterday. It is relevant for anyone who are also new or are back to Transformers and want to find older figures. Hell, just for that, I'll probably be doing reviews on toys from the 1980's (G1) just for spite. :P

Did you know you can post reviews of the site by going to the toys section and clicking on the figure? We could use a lot more reviews posted there and that feature needs a bit more attention.

Here are detailed instructions on how to add a review:

One click on the gallery of the figure or go to the Database and click on the figures name (If you go the toy gallery route you at the top of the page there will be a link to the VSD entry, clink on it.)

Now you should see the profile and under the photo of the figure on the right side of the page it gives you the ability to add a free-style review.

Um, you do know we have an influx of a ton of new people since the movie, which post daytes Cybertron Unicron, so this might be helpful for all those other new people.

I don't care about relevance myself. I just love reading fan reviews. They're a great read!

Maybe you could use the time-machine to go back and get Armada Unicron instead? A brill toy, and while the planet mode isn't complete, it looks good all the same!

I still think they shoulda called him Bludgeon.

You don't say? The site goes down for me more times than an asian hooker.
