The Energon Pub

The sinister Death Rattle creeps across the battlefield looking for Transformers who are alive or dead. With the help of his servant Corpse Grinder, Death Rattle turns his victims into works of taxidermy art. It's been said that some of his twisted creations have been seen shambling through Cybertrons wasteland.

I've always wanted a hearse transformer and decided to try and make one using a G1 Rodimus. I kept it simple using just three colors and stickers for details to maintain the G1 aesthetics. The trailer still opens and works but I didn't do anything with it yet so I didn't take any pics. I'm still working on ideas for Corpse Grinder and will post when he's done.

Finished Death Rattle's servant Corpse Grinder. I decided to stay with the G1 aesthetics and the idea of a trailer minion like Optimus Prime's Roller but I wanted Corpse Grinder to have a personality and transform. I combined a Cliffjumper key chain and the Wheeled Warriors Saw Boss design to come up with a nasty little punk that would creep out even the toughest Decepticon.

Looks pretty cool! I love the curtained window on the side.

Thanks! Designing the curtains and landau bars was the trickiest part.

Not entirely sure about the name, however, I just can't seem to take it seriously - I start giggling whenever I say it to myself.

Love the implied skeleton decals on the bot mode, though, they really add a sense of 'self' without being complicated.

Thanks! I actually contemplated Deathbed, Vivisector and Death Rattle. I decided on Thundertaker because the Undertaker and His Pals is one of my all time favorite movies and was double billed with the Corpse Grinders.

Death-Bed sounds sinister and succinct (and a little sexy )

Death Rattle also sounds nice, as it really evokes an experience of death;

thundertaker just makes me think of wwe - not a very good image to evoke in people's minds

Whoa! Did not mean it like that, just for some reason, it sounds really nice when you say it; it rolls off the tongue very well. But Death Rattle sounds great, really nice for a guy that makes taxidermy out of near-dead 'bots

Finally finished Death Rattle's henchman Corpse Grinder!

Daw, he's so cute, the buzzsaw could be changed into something sharper and more saw like, maybe re-name him into bone-saw and give him a saw arm...

Lol, he's a chibi death bot! I really wanted to have the blade retract into his chest like one of those old Starriors robots but there was just no way.

I love it, Death Rattle is a fantastic name. I imagine him speaking in ALL CAPS like DEATH from the discworld novels or the G-man from the half life games.

I love the black and white paintjob I get a bit of a voodoo vibe. I do wonder if the eyes would be better just being big black sockets without the red. a potential member of the DJD?

Thanks! Believe it or not I planned on letting the eyes black. It din't quite wor though so I added the red at the last minute.
