It's not just his luck. The designs aren't the most reliable in terms of strength. I'm not sure what they were thinking at the time, but Hasbro didn't plan these out too well.
With tweaks, they could do fine, but as is...no.

That's putting it mildly. If Hasbro are looking at these as cash cows they should also put out some PCC miniture walls for them to lean against!
Grabbed Mudslinger today, going to go open him and see how he is!
Even managed to save $10 on him too by taking an hour long drive.

The one thing about Bombshock that really bothered me, was the transformation to combiner.
When I pulled that gun/chest assembly down over his head to form the gestalt, and it made those gut wrenching sounds and I had to push harder and harder to make it juuuuust clear 'Shock's little head to form the torso...I just had this horrible feeling way down deep.
And then his right leg's ball and socket made a crunching noise when I'd pose him. Little pieces of plastic were starting to shave off and I could see them sitting on the display shelf I had him on.
I got rid of him. I took him back.

Yeah, a lot of the PCC suffer from the mild shavings. Whoever created the mold didn't give these pieces enough clearing, which is why a lot of them suffer from an abundance of problems. However, after transforming these quite a bit, I've found ways to avoid further damage, involves a lot more twisting than force. Positioning Bombshocks arms correctly and pulling out the commander head before moving the gun/chest will make it a lot easier and less "gut wrenching" on both you and Bombshock.
Despite this lines many problems, I still support it, and hope Hasbro hears our woes and if their are future installments, do a better job with quality control. I just love combiners and minicons!

Re: Defective PCC Bombshock
sorry to hijack the thread, but wanted input if others are suffering the same with Skybursts back panel in Robot mode. i know some people have complained, but I don't know if it's just we got a bad batch or if they are all like that. In commander mode, his back panel just flops down, doesn't seem to actually peg in where it should. Has anyone got one that actually pegs in and stays put? If so, I'm gonna return mine while and still can and hope I get a better one.

My Skyburst has a floppy back, too. I've had decent luck with most of the PCC toys I've bought, except for the 5-pack commanders.
It really does seem like they just crapped out a commander figure to cram into the boxes with the drones in order to clear the voyager price tag.

Re: Defective PCC Bombshock
Well, rather than doing the exchange, I decided to just take matters into my own hands. or fingers... or nails that is... well, I used some clear nail polish on the insert where the peg should go. Just a couple dabs and let it dry. Works like a charm now! It suddenly made me enjoy the figure so much more now that he works, hehe. Now if there was only a fix for that stupid jet drone.
I'm noticing that every 5 pack seems to have at least on gimp leg. 3 of the 4 out right now have at least one leg that doesn't automorph properly, and I notice of the legs for Bombshock pops out rather easily (I think the spring might be too strong?). Ah well... I'll complain all I want, but in the end I know I'm still gonna buy them all, I just love them all having almost dual robot modes (regular robot and powerup).
The only thing aside from better quality missing from these guys is some weapons. It'd been nice if the 5 packs at least came with a launching weapon or something, in regular robot mode they are pretty much unarmed save for Bombshock.
Assuming the Dinobots are actually wave 4 and not 3 (since those are the repaints), I wonder if we'll be getting new 2 packs as well?

Good idea on that fix, I'll try it myself.
There's been talk about the wave 4 2-packs, and I've even seen some names thrown around, but no images have been posted that I've been able to find.
Then again, I'm an idiot.
anyway, the three 2 and teo 5 seems to be their formula so far, so heres hoping
